Just imagine how things would have been like if Keith had a background exactly like Inuyasha’s, it’s not that far of a stretch considering how similar they are already:
Both have a non human parent they have never met
Were left a heirloom by that parent
Orphaned at a young age
Are standoffish to new people [some more violently than others]
Can you think what it would have been like if Keith was more obviously half Galra? Suffering the same treatment as Inuyasha for being a half breed [in a more likely cases: Being called things like “freak of nature” “demon child” “abomination”].
Keith probably would have faced harsher repercussions like the Garrison’s curiosity or being studied like some kind of animal, being experimented on…..
Going on hunts with my brothers was still something a little new to me. Sure, I had grown up helping them with research but I had only been going on the actual hunts for about a year and a half. It had taken a lot of convincing and they were still wary about the idea.
To say they were protective was an understatement. And it took a lot more convincing to let them take me on a hunt where they were hunting a dragon. And to say it got a little awkward would also be an understatement.
“(Y/N), no means no,” Dean said, frustrated. “You’re not coming on this hunt!”
“But I don’t understand why!” I exclaimed.
“Well, we thought that was kind of obvious,” Sam told me with an incredulous look on his face.
“Okay, well would you mind explaining it to me then?” I asked, irritated. “Cause I have no idea what the hell you’re talking about. I get that I haven’t ever hunted a dragon, but that’s not a reason I shouldn’t go.”
They both made eye contact with each other and seemed to be having a silent argument. Sort of like one was saying ‘you tell her!’ and the other would reply with ‘no, you tell her!”
“Oh my God guys. Just spit it out!” I almost yelled.
“Well, um, you see (Y/N),” Dean stuttered when Sam pushed him forward. “Dragons feed on a certain type of person….”
And that’s when it started to get awkward. As soon as Dean said that I knew exactly why they didn’t want me to come and I started to giggle a little bit.
“Wait a second,” Sam intervened. “Why exactly are you laughing?”
“Because you guys think that the dragon is going to kidnap me,” I laughed.
“Well, it probably will,” Dean started rambling. “Not only are you a virgin, the type that it eats, but you’re also a Winchester so it’s probably got some sort of revenge set in mind and-”
Sam punched him on the arm and he cut himself off.
“I’m not a virgin,” I giggled, blushing furiously.
“What?” they both asked, dumbfounded looks on their faces.
“Since when?” Sam asked slowly, as if he didn’t want to actually know the answer (which he probably didn’t).
“Umm, I don’t know maybe a year and a half ago?” I mumbled. “I’m gonna go pack up the Impala since there’s not problem with me going now.”
“Uhhhh, yeah” Dean said as I left the room.
And that was probably one of the most awkward moments of my entire life. And probably there’s too.
KITTY! O__O *triggered* what. cat. who. how old? what name? when? kitty. (I'm so jealous)
Kitties!!! I love them, too!
I have two cats, a brother and sister pair that I took when my friend’s cat had babies. They are total mutts (momma kitty was a stray calico, no idea who the papa(s) were) and are about…2 and a half now?
The boy (grey) is Loki, I’m sure you can guess my favorite Marvel character, and he’s cute but obnoxiously loud. He cries alllll the time, and we can’t figure out why. Some cats are just noisy, I guess.
(He’s also a sleepy derpcat)
The girl kitty is Mikan (みかん which is a type of small, sweet Japanese orange - they’re delicious) and she is my precious angel. She can do no wrong! Best kitty ever I swear, please come visit me and pet her and love her <3
This trilogy was described to me as “Gay Game Of Thrones” and was the series to get me into original gay fiction - I had no idea there were so many quality stories out there until my recommendations on Amazon started filling up with the most awesome looking books!
I read this trilogy in four days flat, I was completely obsessed. The plot is so intriguing and clever, I can’t imagine what was going on in Pacat’s brain when she conjured up all these twists and turns!
The story starts with Damen, warrior prince of Akielos being betrayed by his half brother, stripped of his identity and shipped of to neighbouring Vere as a pleasure slave for their own prince, the cunning and beautiful Laurent. Through a series of events Damen must fight for his people, his crown and his life, all without Laurent ever finding out who he really is…
These books are one of the darker series I’ve read since embarking into the world of LGBT fiction, but I’m quite a wuss and there was nothing too much for me, if that tells you anything at all lol. There are a lot of complex themes especially regarding sex and rape, mentions of past abuse and off-page deaths. If that’s not cool with you, this might not be your cup of tea. I for one am extremely glad I gave it a chance!
I would just say that I know people who couldn’t get on with this series at all, or actively hated it for various reasons. And I get that, I really do. But I adored it, absolutely.
Damen and Laurent are such interesting characters, and seeing as 95% of the story-telling was from Damen’s point of view I loved how Laurent was portrayed. The development of them both is wonderful and like I said earlier, the plot is ingenious and the ending just brilliant!
Definitely worth giving a go if you want a slow burn romance and nail biting action!
(NB: The aesthetic is by me, though I own none of the images. Featuring Jason Momoa as Damen and Jamie Campbell Bower as Laurent.
