You’re roused from your deep slumber by the melodic sound of chirping birds and the gentle rustle of tree leaves, the serenity of the nature surrounding you prompting you to pry your eyelids open slowly. The glow of the morning sun feels like a refresher instead of an annoyance and it’s nice for a change.

Emitting a jaw-cracking yawn and stretching out your limbs comfortably, you then turn your head to the side. The sight of Chanyeol snoozing away beside you on the pile of moss sends a jolt of realization through you as the events of the previous night start to flood through your mind.

The world was at war. The ocean and fought against the land, causing terrifying waves and rain to pound into the ground; because of this horrific weather most found themselves inside their houses and sitting in front of a lit fire, one man however was standing on the shore of a beach entranced by the angelic singing that he could hear over the roaring wind.

The fighting sky’s rain became more gentle, the waves less harsh and it almost seemed like the world had started mourning the man before he had even stepped into the ocean - though once he took that remaining single step forwards.

The rain started pouring again, the ocean lashed out and the mans feet felt oddly warm as he continued to walk towards the rocks where the captivating singing was coming from. The water ticked his feat, curling around them and trying to drag him back towards land, trying to stop the fate they knew was coming, but the man never stopped walking and the ocean stopped fighting.

When he reached the rocks he saw the most amazing thing; a man half-sat-half-lay on them as he sung through beautifully sharp teeth and his deep red tail splashed in the water every few minutes. The mermaids scales glistened in the moonlight.

The human was entranced by the mermaids singing, he only seemed able to comply with the creature before him - though when the man noticed he was there and stopped singing before turning around and staring at him with those memorizing dark brown eyes he briefly wondered why he had came out to the sea anyway.

But then an arm was extended, a hand offered to him, and the singing continued once he took the hand in his own.

He was once again torn from his awareness of his surroundings - which was his final mistake because all too soon he was being dragged under water as the mermaid dived from the rocks. He struggled, desperate for breath, before making eye contact with the mermaid and going limp; a strange need to listen to whatever this mermaid told him to do overtaken his panic filled body as he took in a mouthful of water and blacked out.

The mermaid swam downwards, towards the oceans bed to lay the limp human on as he waited for him to awake.

When the human awoke it was to find that he was no longer human; a shining purple tale had replaced his feet and he could feel scales climbing up his spin and grabbing hold of his shoulders before jumping up to make constant bags under his eyes from the black scales that now rested there - replacing the actual bags he once had. The red tailed mermaid with the pure white scales smiled down at him from where he floated, watching over him, and he once again found himself captivated by those eyes.

And then a hand was offered.
