The last thing he captured in his eyes was her figure, small hand reaching out for his before a flash of light struck between them, effectively rendering him unable to see anything and at the same separating the two of them. He found himself shouting her name, and he could faintly hear her call his name back. When he opened his eyes after the light dissipated, there was only a tall gate with no door, the sky of Askr beyond it; a scenery he had seen far too often. However, the one he called for, the one he wanted to see the most was nowhere to be found.
I would like to set this time to acknowledge the frog on the room. Buff frog’s character is often overlooked in the series but from Season 1 to Season 2, he actually plays a minor(not so minor) character with a BIG role in what is to come.
If you have noticed Buff frog was a minion of Ludo in season 1. He quit being a henchman to become a father and because Ludo never respected him or really knew him even though they’ve been through a lot together. And in season 2, Buff frog became closer with Star Girl and Karate Boy (what he calls Star and Marco, respectively). And that made him realize that they are not that bad (they are even great baby sitters! HE TRUSTED THEM!)
I genuinely think Buff Frog made the decision to BE GOOD. He changed his perspective and it takes a lot to change a person.
He changed not just for his tadpoles but because he also believed it was right. He’s still a monster who are against Mewnians BUT who would’ve thought that he respects Star and Marco as his “friends”(at least that’s what I think) and that he would think about the greater good of other monsters? What kind of monster would do that?
In the recent episode, we can all see it. That’s why he refused Ludo’s offer of being his henchman by punching him in the face because he thinks Ludo’s lost his mind even if he did get more powerful. He even thought of a plan to warn Star about Ludo’s plan in stealing her Book of Spells.
He even saved this guy:
He is amazing! He even rhymes hahaha so cute!
His penmanship too! Hahaha too cute!
But aside from all that this was what struck me the most about the recent episode:
When he questioned himself if it was the right decision for his tadpoles, it made me realize something: BUFF FROG BELIEVES GOOD CAN TRIUMPH OVER EVIL.
Daddy Buff Frog is such a big softie! Hahaha! but that is understandable since becoming a parents means putting your children first and doing things for the betterment of their future.
Overall, Buff Frog is a good father and a kick-ass monster. I can’t wait to see what his crazy plan is in helping Star defeat Ludo but I sure know it is going to be something!
