Nawwas ibn Sim’an al-Ansari reported: I asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, about righteousness and sin. The Prophet said, “Righteousness is good character and sin is what waivers in your heart and you hate for people to know about it.”

Sa’eed ibn Al-Musayyib reported: He saw a man praying after the rising of the sun at dawn with more than two bowings and he was excessive in his bowing and prostration, so he prohibited him. The man said, “O Abu Muhammad, will Allah punish us for praying?” Sa’eed said, “No, but he will punish you for opposing the prophetic tradition (sunnah).”

Aisha reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Be deliberate in worship, draw near to Allah, and give glad tidings. Know that the most beloved deed to Allah is that which is done regularly even if it is small.”
