20 Gossip Blog Personalities

Under the cut is a list of 20 potential gossip blog personalities to help create a more unique gossip blog in your RP group. For each one I’ve included their motivation to gossip, possible reasons for them to send out tasks, what sort of people they like and dislike, and what kind of RPs they are good for. When I made these, I had in mind RPs were the gossip blog plays an active role in instigating conflicts through tasks, but most of them can be adapted to more passive blogs.

Survivor Series being threatened as a target for ISIS
[November 21st, 2015]

This is an interesting development. This morning, hacker group Anonymous released a statement about some information they reportedly uncovered regarding potential planned ISIS attacks. One of those attacks is set to take place at the Philips Arena tomorrow night, during the WWE Survivor Series event. WSB-TV in Atlanta posted the following:

FBI officials have confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that they are taking seriously a report about an ISIS threat at a WWE Survivor Series event in Atlanta on Sunday.

The FBI released the following statement to Channel 2 Action News:

“The FBI is aware of reports of an alleged threat that includes an Atlanta, Georgia venue and event.  While we take all threats seriously, we do not have specific or credible information of an attack at this time.  We have, however, made the proper notifications as we continue to work closely with our law enforcement and private sector partners to keep our community safe.”

The hacker group Anonymous said Saturday that it had uncovered information about Islamic State group attacks in Paris as well as locations in the U.S.

According to an article in the International Business Times:

“Anonymous also said the Islamic State group is planning an assault at the WWE Survivor Series  event scheduled to take place in the Philips Arena in Atlanta Sunday at   7.30 p.m. EST, as well as attacks at multiple events in Paris.”

Channel 2’s Mark Winne spoke with the director of the Georgia Emergency Management Agency, Jim Butterworth, who said his agency is working closely with the FBI, the Georgia Information Sharing and Analysis Center and others in evaluating the threat on a Sunday WWE event in Atlanta reported by the group Anonymous.

WWE released the following statement to Channel 2 Action News Saturday:

“WWE Survivor Series is currently scheduled as planned while we investigate the matter with federal, state and local authorities.”

Back in 2001, my friend Brandon and I got tickets to a WWF show in Louisville just a few weeks after the 9/11 attacks. We joked that at the event, if any terrorists showed up, Bradshaw would run through the arena and clothesline all of their heads off. This is a scary situation now that it’s real. This entire ISIS thing just feels like something out of The Avengers or something; a giant evil group set on taking over the world. I’m sincerely worried for the fans attending Survivor Series, as well as the wrestlers and staff of the WWE. Here’s hoping JBL sprouts long black hair and a thick black mustache if such a threat should arrive.

#WhatHappenedToSandraBland: New Alleged Jail Footage Of Sandra Bland Is Released To Dispel Mugshot Rumors, But Instead Raises More Questions Than It Addresses
Waller County officials released the new footage to prove that Bland was "alive and well" when her mugshot was taken to counter social media rumors that she was deceased in the photo.

Waller County officials on Tuesday released new jailhouse video footage of Sandra Bland to counter social media rumors that she was dead when her mugshot was taken.

The new footage shows Bland being brought into Waller County Jail on July 10 after being arrested during a traffic stop, and three days before she was found dead in her jail cell of an apparent suicide.

The footage includes Bland’s mugshot being taken, which was at the center of widespread social media speculation that she appeared to be dead in the picture.

The three days’ worth of raw footage was released to show Bland was “alive and well” when she was brought into the jail, contrary to “viral” rumors that led to death threats against jail officials, Waller County Judge Trey Duhon said.

At a news conference Tuesday, Duhon said the online hacker group Anonymous had encouraged people to engage in cyberattacks against Waller County’s computer networks based on the “untruths.”

He added that Waller County officials had received death threats based on the rumors that Bland was either killed or deceased before she was brought into the jail.

“When it comes to correct information, social media cannot be relied upon,” Duhon said.

The new footage includes video of Bland being brought into the jail, as well as her time spent in the intake area and with Texas state trooper Brian Encinia, who arrested her for allegedly assaulting him during the traffic stop.

Apart from showing Bland standing for her mugshot, the footage also shows her making phone calls in the booking area, and spending hours in a holding cell.

Duhon said Bland’s appearance in the “infamous” mugshot could be attributed to her being asleep for several hours in her holding cell before the photo was taken.

Bland, he noted, also had “animated conversations” with someone on the phone in the booking desk area. She also made as many as six phone calls after her bond was set.

Duhon said the jailer also showed “sympathy” in allowing Bland to use the phone in the booking area after she made multiple requests to use it.

The footage also shows Bland as a judge sets a bond of $5,000.

“I truly wish she had bonded out,” Duhon said.
