“Swim to me, swim to me
Let me enfold you
Here I am, here I am
Waiting to hold you”

Thoughts after watching HaBuah

I did not think this movie would end the way it did, and there are still a few things that I don’t understand about the plot. Other than that, I thought it was a very good movie, despite the gratuitous sex.

I guess this is something I’ll see when I live in Israel for a while, but I’m also not sure if the Israeli left is as prominent as they made it seem in the movie. When I was there last, I didn’t see many young people who seemed to be against the “occupation.” The university students I talked to seemed to be indifferent about the conflict in general, which baffled me. I just can’t imagine people running around the streets of Tel Aviv trying to get others to go to an anti-occupation event. Maybe I’m wrong; I wasn’t there all that long so Israelis or anyone else who knows, feel free to pitch in or correct me.

Anyway, I highly recommend the movie. I would write more but I don’t want to spoil the ending/other details for people who haven’t seen it.
