hey! would you consider it cultural appropriation to wear those bracelets that have chains connecting them to rings? before I had only seen them in Indian/desi culture but they've been popularized lately. I don't wanna buy any if it's offensive tho

What you’re referring to is called hath panja or haath phool (sp?). They’re typically worn by South Asian brides, so yes it’s appropriation to wear them.

I’ve also heard somewhere on here that they may have been used by black slaves, but I don’t really know much about that so I can’t comment on it.

Btw, please don’t use the word ‘desi’ unless you’re South Asian. It’s an intra-community only word.
