These are taken from the Rålamb Costume Book, a collection of 121 drawings collected in Istanbul between 1657 and 1658. Click on it to get a sense of Ottoman society in its glory days, in all its diversity: Greeks, Jews, Armenians, Egyptians, Crimean Tartars, little people, mutes.
