Picked up this 1966 Harmony Roy Smeck model H73 and man, do the DeArmond gold foils sing on this thing. The Brazilian rosewood bridges always benefit from the slender bone saddle insert that Harmony used on their top tier models, and this one has plenty of zing and percussive cut. Although Smeck attached his name to a huge range of instruments (he was the “Wizard of the strings” after all) this might be my favorite at least in terms of good looks, with the neo-cutaway body and fire engine red lacquer finish. #guitar #harmony #roysmeck #dearmondpickups #goldfoil #hollowbody #vintageguitar #neocutaway #1966 #red (at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar)
