I can honestly say it’s the best movie I’ve seen that I never, ever want to watch again.
I don’t understand how Fincher et al. can deny this as a feminist film. Feminist just has this unnecessary stigma to it, where some people see militant men-haters as the only way a feminist should look. Feminists are anyone and everyone that believe women and men should be treated equally. Any movie that posits a female character at the same level as a man, is inherently feminist. Aliens’ Ripley? feminist. Harry Potter’s Hermione? feminist. So for an anti-hero like Lisbeth, she’s feminist.
