Guylian Belgian Chocolate Café (Sydney, Australia)
I literally did a double take when I was walking along Circular Quay last weekend when I saw this. Since when were there Guylian Cafés? I loved their Guylian chocolate seashells since I was a kid, but I didn’t realize they had a full blown café! Of course, I was drawn into the place before I could even think properly.
Lo and behold, mouthwatering desserts fit for a chocoholic (plus some non-chocolate desserts for the non-chocoholics, if there are any at all).
See how scrumptious they all look!
It took me a while to decide on my order and I finally got the Baked Chocolate Cake "with signature ganache, served with a scoop of white chocolate and raspberry ice cream". The cake was super moist inside and very fudgey. The ice cream had the perfect balance of sweet raspberry and creamy white chocolate in terms of taste, although it was a little icy in terms of texture. I didn’t like what seemed like orange meringue sprinkled all over because its unnatural flavor was distracting, but yes, the chocolate cake was surely the star in this dessert!
