Shanghai, you can be vexing sometimes. After shepherding my wife to her doctor appointment, I was looking forward to a late breakfast at Ya Kun Kaya Toast, only to find it shuttered. I resolved to console myself with some cheap dumplings, but I was in Gubei New Area, which is a lousy place to find cheap dumplings. (Or cheap anything, for that matter.) After wandering around the streets for a good while, I almost conceded defeat at Johnny Moo’s. Fortunately, and just in time, I remembered a little place I seen a couple weeks ago, which wasn’t too far away. It seems to have all the usual Shanghai specialties, and at reasonable prices. Fried pork chop and guotie, FTW!!
