ZOILA and SYLIVA, San Antonio Aguas Calientes - 34 and 35 of 52 Discoveries

Zoila - “ I can work and maintain my family.”

Zoila’s mother taught her to weave and in turn Zoila taught her daughter, Sylvia. They both started at the age of 6. Zoila is well know for the quality of her work. The colorful pieces behind her took three weeks to produce. Both Zoila and Sylvia made the large textile. Each independently wove half of the piece and when put together, the parts matched up perfectly. It took them six months to produce this masterpiece!
