TRIVIA

  • Of the six main Sailor Senshi, only Sailor Moon’s tiara had a pattern on the band.
  • Princess Sailor Venus said that her tiara contained the Silver Crystal. Of course this was a ruse as the crown was just one of many fakes. She discontinued wearing it after Act 20, and she did not receive her standard Sailor Senshi tiara until Act 25.
  • Only Sailor Moon used her tiara as a weapon.
  • Sailor Jupiter did not have a lightning rod in her tiara in this series.

SOOO UHHH can we talk about this postcard on the new Eververse page on Bungie.net? Apparently it depicts a Guardian assuming a false identity at a masquerade, but… that is definitely a Fallen Captain smack dab in the middle of the photo. Are we to believe that is just some sort of really convincing costume? I dunno, those four arms look awfully functional… I’m trying not to get my hopes up but please please PLEASE let this be hinting at further Eliksni/human relations, I NEED IT.

Quick Supergirl Recap for the newcomers tonight

Here’s a quick backstory and recap of Supergirl if you’re just tuning in tonight because of the crossover (or in case you forgot).

SEASON 1:

Kara Zor-El is an alien from the planet Krypton. She is Superman’s cousin and was sent to earth initially to protect him. Some stuff happened and her arrival was delayed. When she arrived on Earth, Superman had already made his mark. She was adopted by the Danvers family. She fell into place in the life of an average civilian, working at CatCo (as a reporter now in season 2). Her true powers were only known by her adoptive sister Alex, and her adoptive parents. She later outed herself as Supergirl to other friends and blah blah blah she’s the hero of National City. Alex Danvers is an agent of The DEO (Department of Extranormal Operations), and government organization that monitors aliens on Earth. Of course, they have a very close alliance with Supergirl.

SEASON 2 (current season):

This season we finally got a Supergirl/Superman team up. We follow the theme of diversity in season two, as the dispute between alien rights grows. This hits close to home because The DEO and Supergirl have recently harbored an alien from Krypton’s rival planet Daxam. Mon-El, a Daxamite, crash landed on Earth similar to the way Kara did. His earthly name is Mike. Her and Kara have a somewhat rocky friendship as she had been taught to hate his kind. Mike’s romantic feelings for Kara have been expressed, but she is oblivious. (In her defense, they haven’t been completely clear).

Kara has also picked up a friendship with Lena Luthor, the sister of notorious villain Lex Luthor. Lena took over Luthor Corp (“L Corp”) when her brother went away to prison. Lena has assisted Kara (and Kara’s alter ego) in a couple different situations (she did an interview for a report Kara was doing and Supergirl assisted Lena by supervising her party as security). Lena is not aware that Kara and Supergirl are the same person (or at least in the show. Theories prove otherwise).

Alex has been struggling with her sexuality ever since she met a local NCPD officer by the name of Maggie Sawyer. Maggie revealed herself to be gay very early on. After realizing her feelings for Maggie, Maggie was the first person Alex came out to. Later Alex came out to Kara. They had a slight misunderstanding at first, but Kara is very supportive and proud of Alex. Kara encouraged Alex to go after Maggie (whom of which had just been dumped by her ex gf). Alex kissed Maggie, but Maggie friend-zoned her, telling Alex that she was too new in the realization that she was gay. This led Alex to sadness and eventually revealing how she felt about Maggie in an angry rant. Maggie realized that what she had done had really hurt Alex so she went to apologize. She claimed she “couldn’t imagine her life without Alex in it”, in hopes that she and Alex could remain friends. Alex accepted her apology.

James “Jimmy” Olsen (new CEO of CatCo) and Winn Schott (close friends of Kara and both allies of The DEO [Winn works for The DEO]) have decided to make Jimmy into an vigilante (know as the Guardian). Winn designed a suit for Jimmy and Jimmy fights crime in National City. He always felt like it was his duty to assist Kara/Supergirl (who doesn’t know Guardian’s identity). Guardian was falsely accused of murder and escaped charges. Everyone is a little worried about who Guardian is and what he stands for, including Kara. Alex knows that Jimmy is the Guardian.

J’onn J’onzz (an alien who takes the form Hank Henshaw) is the head of The DEO. He is the last of green martians. He recently found another green martian by the name of M'gann M'orzz (known as Megan) in a local alien bar. When J’onn was hurt she provided blood for his rehabilitation. Afterwords, she revealed herself as a white martian, a sworn enemy of the green martians. Her blood has had adverse affects on J’onn and is slowly turning him into a white martian.

Last episode we met Cyborg Superman. He is the real Hank Henshaw, altered by a dangerous organization known as Project Cadmus. His alterations give him the power to fight against Supergirl. Cadmus is run by none other than Lillian Luthor, Lena’s mother. We are unaware of how much Lena knows about Cadmus. It is fairly clear though that Lena is attempting to avoid being known as “another evil Luthor”. Lillian helped capture Supergirl (now released) and took her blood. We saw in the very last minutes of the last episode that Supergirl’s blood was being used to gain access to Superman’s Fortress of Solitude.

Now you’re caught up. I encourage you to watch Supergirl if you haven’t seen it! It’s definitely one of the campier shows of DCTV but give it a chance. You can watch the first season on Netflix, and the second season on CW.com (no cable provider needed). If I missed anything (or made mistakes) please comment on this!
