In June 1966, the Apollo 1 crew practices water egress procedures with a full scale boilerplate model of the spacecraft. In the water at right are astronauts Ed White and Roger Caffee. In the raft near the spacecraft is Gus Grissom. NASA swimmers are in the water to assist in the practice session that took place at Ellington AFT near the Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston, TX. On January 27th, 1967, the crew perished during a fire aboard the craft during launch rehearsal.
I’m a huge film buff // photography enthusiast. I actually had the pleasure of having a drink and spending some time with actor Gabe Nevins this week, the star of Gus Van Sants film Paranoid Park. He gifted me a signed copy of the beautiful photography book “GAbE” shot by Nick Haymes. I know this is *not* true crime related but it is an extremely dark, gritty, and intense photography book and I highly suggest you guys check it out if you are able to. Truly some of the best candid photography I have ever had the pleasure of seeing.
Also, surprise! I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned anything about my rats. Gus (top) and Merlin (bottom) are 2/3 of the boys I have. I’ll post separate pictures of Little Foot since he wasn’t sitting still.
