Welcome to the first ever post in my Guide To Staying Organized!
Lesson #1: Calendars
If there is one thing that has saved me multiple times both throughout my education and my health journey, it would be a calendar. Calendars are a great way to organize your thoughts, map out the future, and keep track of progress! So today I will be giving you a couple of tips that I use to stay organized.
1. Get your hands on a calendar, planner, or whatever works for you! During the school year I am never without my planner, but during the summer I prefer to stick to simple calendars. The one in the photo above can be found here for free!
2. Color code like your life depends on it. These pens are one of the greatest purchases I have ever made, and they are perfect for keeping your activities in check. You can color code what you need to based on your lifestyle! For me, pink is work, orange is fun activities, yellow is college visits, blue is volunteer work, green is when I receive my paycheck, and purple is for my work outs!
3. Keep your calendar up to date! As soon as plans are finalized, add them to your calendar, that way you are always up to date! It’s important to know your own schedule, no one wants to be the person who is always cancelling because they forgot they had other plans.
4. Check everything off! Nothing feels better than checking off a great workout, a successful day, or a big test. It gives you a sense of accomplishment like no other! You could even use stickers for a fun twist.
Remember that you should do whatever works best for your lifestyle - but also keep in mind that a little organization never hurt anybody! Keeping all of your plans in line takes a lot of stress out of the future, and leads to a more productive mind. Have fun making calendars of your own!
