What I think…

Mashima is a smart guy. We don’t exactly know for sure which pairings he likes or what his favorites are. He may imply heavily on the big 4, which is undoubtedly the most shipped out of all parings, he is still very well aware of other fanon pairings as well. For example, NatZa (Natsu x Erza) is probably one of the most shipped “crack” pairings of the Fairy Tail fandom. If not, then the MOST shipped. He knows that a handful of NatZa shippers exist (including myself) so he sprinkles in some of those moments that they would love to see. Same goes for other cracks, such as GraLu, NaMi, Nali, etc. Point is, despite Mashima’s thoughts and feelings, he HAS to play along with the majority of his fandom. Otherwise, sales of the official release would go down. And if he were to make some sort of twist within the pairings, there would be an uproar. Even if making NatZa happen gets me and quite a few others REALLY happy, the other population will start ripping their hairs out and start hating Mashima with a passion. Of NatZa were to be more shipped by the community, he would’ve definitely made that happen… But alas, the 80% of those “big 4” fans happen to be fucking immature otakus falling in the bandwagon of NaLu and JerZa mainstream. Me personally, have been with the series since the very start, and I immediately thought Natsu and Erza would have some sort of romantic connection from all their moments. Especially the Tower of Heaven arc.

These are just my thoughts and how I see the Mashima/FairyTail pairing community as a whole. That is all.

Fanfic Writers

I don’t understand why people think fanfiction writers aren’t real writers.

I mean, have you ever read a fanfiction? Have you read how wonderfully their descriptions are? How well they know the characters?

I am a full-time writer and I write my own stories but I’m far below the average Fanfic writers when it comes to writing scenes and describing emotions.

If a writer writes a retelling of old work/fairy tale, they’re applauded and praised but that’s what Fanfic writers are doing. Retelling a story in a completely unique way with old set of characters.

It just annoys me. But shout out to all the fabulous Fanfic writers out there (yes, even though you write fanfics about my anti-ships). Thank you for your selfless contribution to our fandoms (and fantasies which we know won’t ever happen).

Fandoms and the world of storytelling are incomplete without you all.

I have nothing but utmost respect and love for you. 💗
