It has become very clear to me how necessary play time is to my healing, growing, creating and loving. It is liberating and expansive! Making time to play and to freely express oneself in new and creative ways is just as, if not more, important than tending to ‘serious’ matters. To play one must be willing to let go of worry and self-judgment, both of which are tied to stories rooted in fear. Such habits of thought keep one small, limited and contained. The more time we spend in expansive spaces that allow us to experience joy and freedom, the more willing we are to let go of old stories that no longer serve us. To play is to risk being truly seen and embraced.
