Normani Kordei

Dancing In Perfect Harmony

By Deborah Wagner

When Normani Kordei agreed to join the twenty fourth season of ABC’s hit television show Dancing with the Stars, she hadn’t realized what a life changing experience it would be. Since 2012, Kordei has been best known as one of the five original members of the popular girl group Fifth Harmony.

Through the DWTS experience, Kordei has learned that it was a little difficult at first being in the spotlight without her “sisters” – as she lovingly calls her group-mates Lauren Jauregui, Ally Brooke and Dinah Jane. (Former group member Camila Cabello left last year to pursue a solo career.) However, it has also turned into a fulfilling personal growth experience. During this period, Kordei has found out how strong she really is, and that she can succeed at anything she puts her mind to.

Blossoming in front of the millions of DWTS viewers every week, twenty-year old Kordei has grown into a confident young woman right before our eyes. She has proven to herself – and tens of millions of viewers and fans – that she is in this competition to win the coveted mirror ball trophy, like Laurie Hernandez, Nyle DeMarco and Bindi Irwin had before her.

With dance moves that are now up to par with the professionals, Kordei’s hard work is paying off as she continues to nail her dance moves and receive rave reviews from the judges – including Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inana, Julianne Hough and Bruno Yonioli. Her partner and teacher Val Chmerkovskiy has helped her master the art of telling stories rhythmically through her movements. With the help of his exceptional choreography, the two have earned a spot at the top of the leaderboard for many weeks during the season.

Now, with the final two weeks of Dancing with the Stars here, Kordei is bittersweetly working hard to perfect her final dances. During these long and tiring days, this hard-working New Orleans-born and Texas-raised go getter continues to strive for excellence in these last performances. During a break in her busy practice schedule, Kordei took a half hour to chill and chat with us.

For the last five years, you have been accustomed to shining with four – now three – partners in Fifth Harmony. On DWTS though, it’s just you (and Val, of course) out there. How different does it feel to have the spotlight on you?

It’s honestly a bit of an adjustment having the whole spotlight solely on me. Kind of entering a world of my own, outside of Fifth Harmony. It’s also been refreshing, too. We’ve been together for the last four or five years. We do have an amazing time, the four girls now, coming from different walks of life making one common goal happen. But, I feel that we only showcase pieces of who we are as humans and individuals. Ally, Dinah, Lauren and myself, we make up what Fifth Harmony now is, but we still have dreams outside of the group. I’ve always loved to dance, which I hardly got to do while in Fifth Harmony. It’s just really cool, because I proved to myself that, “Yeah girl, you still got it.”

My passion is still there for dance. People are getting the opportunity to get to know me. I’ve also really surprised myself during the process. I think that Val has done an incredible job, not just as a choreographer and a teacher, but as a friend. Helping me grow and pulling things out of me that I didn’t even know were there. I’m just super happy. It’s like a family there at Dancing with the Stars.

Your Fifth Harmony sisters have shown you so much love during this experience. What has the support from them, your family and your fans meant to you?

Oh, man. The support of my family and friends and the girls means the absolute world to me. I don’t know if you saw the week – I think it was week four – where the girls actually came on and the sang “Impossible,” which is the first song that we ever performed as a group in the X-Factor days after meeting each other. We had to sing that song. It was pretty symbolic after singing it then and it now; everything that had happened in between made it mean even more. They’re always texting me after every show. Lauren told me she sat up crying after my contemporary dance this week. But, they’re super supportive and it means the world. I support them. We are sisters at the end of the day. That’s what we are supposed to do.

As far as my family and friends, they are over the moon. They love to see me happy. [It is] almost a breakthrough, just me recognizing my strengths. They always tell me it’s okay to give myself a pat on the back sometimes. My grandmother’s favorite show is Dancing with the Stars, so she is out there every week. They’re all cheering me on. That’s priceless for me!

You’ve already connected with millions through your singing. Now you’re receiving such praise and high scores (including two perfect ones) for your dance. Did you ever think you would be able to connect so completely through dance?

I felt it in my heart that was my way of communicating and speaking to people. Dance was actually my first passion, even before I started singing. I was dancing for as long as I can remember. It’s like a trance that I go in. It’s like an out of body experience, with me completely being immersed in the music. It’s really about storytelling. I’m really feeling it. It’s freedom of expression. I have been having the best time on Dancing with the Stars. I love all the different genres. Even though I came from a dance background, I’ve never done any ballroom dancing. So, it’s always a lot of work. I always feel it when I’m on the stage, every Monday.

Your dance this week was both beautiful, yet painful all at the same time. It gave me chills. It’s getting people talking about the problem of cyber-bullying. First I want to say, I am sorry that you had to go through that. No one ever should. Secondly, as a Mom of two kids who have also experienced bullying, what would you say to others who are trying to escape the painful experience of bullying and cyber bullying?

Cyber bullying is a very devastating thing to have to go through for anyone, whether you are an adult of a child. That’s the thing with social media, it can be powerful and positive but at the same time, it can really tear people apart. It sucks because it’s the face and the force of this generation. We use it so heavily and depend on it like it’s second nature. It’s like all we know. But I think that cyber bullying is only a piece of the conversation that Val and I were discussing through our performance and our dance. With cyber bullying, I talked about it because I’ve been through it. [However, the dance was] for anybody that’s going through adversity and who feels lonely or helpless and feels the world is caving in. In society, we pick on each other and we create these barriers.

We are all on this Earth for a reason. We have a purpose. I think about how much better we could be if we were all united and had more love for one another. If we had sympathy. If we had open hearts and open minds, instead of being so closed minded. At the end of the day, everyone seeks acceptance. Anyone listening and going through cyber bullying or bullying in any way, I think you really just need to dig deep to find your freedom, because nobody else is going to give it to you. It’s something that you have to accept and take within yourself. Naturally, whenever the rest of the world doesn’t accept you, it’s all about self-acceptance. What you think about yourself looking in the mirror. Thinking I’m happy with he or she. I know what I have to offer. That’s what matters.

Throughout the seasons of Dancing with the Stars, you can always tell if there is a real connection between the star and their dancing partner. Your connection with Val seems like such a strong bond, built with admiration and respect. What has it been like to go through this experience with him?

Going through this experience with Val, first and foremost let me say, I remember the first day walking into the room and learning the choreography and being super timid. I’m a totally different person than when I walked in. I really have him to thank for that. He has changed me in the best way possible. I’m forever grateful. He is my friend, my teacher, my choreographer. He’s like my brother.

It also helps that I generally do look up to him. Not just as a dancer but as a person. He teaches me constantly, every day. We talk about things that are going on in the world and about things like family and everything. He is a hard worker and an amazing human being. He never fails to stop and serve other people as well. He’s always taking the time to think about how he can help kids recognize that their dreams also matter. It doesn’t matter where they come from. It’s about what they have in their heart and their determination. He’s really good at instilling great values and making you a believer. He really makes me feel like I can do anything.

It sounds like they picked the perfect partner for you, then.

Yeah, I couldn’t ask for anyone better. I don’t know if I’d get the same experience, or grow the same way, if it hadn’t been for him. I genuinely love him. Even after the show is over, he’ll play a significant role. I am really blessed that he’s part of my world and I am now part of his.

As rewarding as this experience has been, it must be exhausting touring with Fifth Harmony and practicing with Val for the live shows. How are you taking care of yourself while this time?

Well, it has definitely been a lot. It’s crazy to even sit here and think about traveling back and forth from Asia to LA for the first three weeks of the show. It was definitely a challenge and took a toll on my body, obviously. I got injured about two or three weeks ago when I did my salsa number – “When I Grow Up.” That was the first week that we started to do lifts and flips and tricks. I hadn’t danced in five years, maybe even longer, so my body was not used to it anymore.

On top on flying and the lack of sleep, I had a really severe pulled muscle strain in my back and my hip. There were two different muscle strains. One wasn’t affected by the other, but they just so happened that I had two at the same time. I felt like it slowed me in a way. You guys might not have seen it, but for me it was really frustrating. I was like, “Why can’t I get this?” or “Why do we have to change this lift?” It would have looked so good, but physically I could not do it. We’ve definitely had an emotional rollercoaster throughout this journey, but I think it’s shaped us and is part of our story. Part of the reason I’ve worked so hard. In those times where it’s like you can’t overthink this, we have to just do it. We’d be performing in Asia on the carpet, in the lobby, in front of people, anywhere we could for days before the performance, in the airport. It’s all pieces of our journey and of our story.

Would you recommend this experience of DWTS to one of your 5H partners?

Heck to the yes! (laughs) I’d recommend this experience to anybody! It’s amazing. I can’t really put it into words. I’m sad that it’s coming to an end, we are in our last weeks. I was really emotional yesterday. I was sitting down thinking about it. I’m just super grateful looking in the faces of every single person that makes up what Dancing with the Stars is.

It’s the reason that we can put these incredible shows on Monday night – down to hair, down to makeup, down to wardrobe. It really is fancy. There’s just a fulfillment that you get, going out there, on that stage and on that ballroom with your partner, every single Monday. Knowing that your inspiring someone, it’s a special feeling. It’s electrifying. I can’t even explain it or completely put it into words.

Once Dancing with the Stars season is over, do you plan on going back into the studio with Fifth Harmony? We know your 5H fans would love to hear some new music.

Oh, I never left the studio. I was actually in the studio last night. Yeah, we started recording before I even started Dancing with the Stars. We are still in the studio now. It never stops for me. It wasn’t like I do one thing and then start another after. It’s all in one. (laughs) So, yeah, we have new music coming out really soon.

I’m sure you have built relationships with the other contestants on the show. Do you think you will be keeping in touch after this is over?

Oh my God, yes! 110%! Like I said before, even the first day we all met at GMA, everyone came in super humble, smiles all across the room. I remember having a conversation with David [Ross]. He’s just the sweetest, sweetest guy. Talking to Bonner [Bolton] because we’re both from Texas. Hearing his story, I was just completely moved and inspired and also captivated by his southern hospitality and charm. (laughs)

Me and Simone [Biles] are really, really close and have become the best of friends on the show. She makes me laugh a lot. I think we are so different but we are alike at the same time. We kind of balance each other out, which makes this experience even more fun. Then Rashad [Jennings], he’s like a big brother. I love him too. He told me after my contemporary piece that he really connected with it on a personal level and that I could come to him for anything if I wanted to vent.

Who on the DWTS cast is the biggest practical joker or always cracks everyone up?

I don’t know. Val always makes me laugh, personally. He’s actually a very funny human being. I feel like he’s the glue that holds everything together, in a way. There are so many different elements, but I do really appreciate that he has this way of reeling people in. It’s really comfortable and safe. Feeling like it’s a safe environment for them to be all that they are. And he is really, really funny. He’s always has me cracking up.

Also Simone. She’s always has me cracking up. Just little things she says. Sometimes I’m like, “Girl, how did you come up with that?” (laughs) “How did you come up with that?”

You are only 20 and have already accomplished so much with an award-winning music career and now this wonderful experience on DWTS. What else would you like to do in the future?

Coming off of this experience – really exploring myself on Dancing with the Stars – I feel has really opened many doors for me. Widened the range of expectations that I have for myself. There is a lot I now would love to do and know now I am capable of doing. I’d love to act and get into film. I really do enjoy stepping into another character every single week on Dancing with the Stars. I’d love to do that as a career choice.

Just something that I love. I am all about the arts, so I’ll continue to do my music obviously. I’m very into fashion. I’d love to have my own fashion line and my own empire. Yeah, I just want there to be nothing that I can’t do. I want to at least touch on many things, because you never know, that might be what I decide to do for the rest of my life. I don’t know, wherever life takes me, wherever God takes me. But I really want to cross over to acting, because I find that mesmerizing. I can really lose myself in it.

We did pick one fan question to ask. Amira Parker would like to know what your favorite 5H song is to perform in concert?

My favorite Fifth Harmony song to perform right now – because it can change since we have new music coming out – I have like five favorites right now. Let’s see… probably “Boss.” Yeah, every time I hear the “da-na-na-na,” the crowd for some reason always goes crazy on that song. It gets me super hyped. There’s never been a crowd that hasn’t had a great response to that song. I think it’s just the energy of it. It’ personally one of my favs, the choreography and that was kind of the beginning of the new Fifth Harmony. I don’t know if you guys saw a change, but from “Miss Moving On” to “Boss,” there was a switch. That was the moment where we actually started to grow up and grow into our womanhood. So, I love “Boss.”

For our final question, do you have a message for your fans?

To my fans, I love you guys incredibly. I can never thank you enough for how much you fulfill me and everything you’ve done in order to make me feel supported and confident within myself. You guys lift me up anytime I’m down. I would definitely say that all of my success, and our success, is because of you guys. I love you. Make sure you learn to love yourselves.

Since Louis and his team are rolling out promo, naturally my mind goes immediately to The Breakfast show.

For starters, how do they greet one another? Hug? Hand shake? Back slaps? Please. You know they would both pull the most ridiculous stupid faces for the photos that will force me to lay down. I’m not even ready for the thought of live video. The giggles. Voice inflection. Raised eye brows. Pursed lips. Head nods. Choked laughter. Eye rolls. Small smiles.

This is not even about tomlinshaw as a fantasy ship. It’s about my love for Louis and Nick as individuals and how they communicate and use their humor, sarcasm, self deprecation, charm, voices and ENTIRE FACES during interviews. Like. It’s too much. So much.

In the past, Louis has gone soft during Breakfast interviews, deferring to Nick and the group. During the X Factor their brief exchange was cute and friendly. But this would be a fucking solo interview. With the goal of entertaining and leaving an impression. Their actual personalities meshing. One on one. Documented. Oh Jesus. It could go so many ways.

I’m going to die if it doesn’t happen, but I’ll also die if it does. Of anticipation and happiness mostly.

Little Mix are the 5th best selling western girl group of ALL TIME! 🔥👑

anonymous asked:

I don't understand how Camila got out of her contract. Can u please explain if you can?

She didn’t (as far as we know). They signed individual and group contracts off of X factor so she will most likely still be on the same contract. She is probably having to fulfil her contract through solo albums. And we were also told in billboard that they were locked into their all-encompassing deal for minimum 7 years. Camila just got out of the group, so apart from any incentives that the label might have given her in negotiations, I don’t realistically see her contractual situation being significantly different in any way. It seems pretty clear from the outside that the label purposefully set up the 5h deal so that they could break someone off as a solo act if they wanted to

Amazing Black Female Superheroes... In no particular order. Although all the characters are fictional, I'd like to see more of these ladies on the big screen.

This list contains some of the overlooked black female superheroes from various comics. Although this may not be very relevant to some, I hope it provides some sort of entertainment at the least. You would probably be surprise to find the both Marvel & DC Comics have written some AMAZING black characters from all over the universe (both fantasy worlds and real places) into their story lines.

These women include (but aren’t limited to):

a Jamaican born superhero

a couple of ladies born in Africa

a lady from the Bayou

a cripple lady that wasn’t here for the bullshit, nor limitations

an orphan, officer, attorney, a siren…. you just gotta read it to see what I mean. Anyway, hope you enjoy!

FIRST THING FIRST…. My absolute favorite female character in all of DC Comics….  VIXEN/Mari Jiwe McCabe

A female super-hero from Africa who adopts the abilities of animals. Using her Tantu Totem, she can channel the powers of the animal kingdom by tapping into the morphogenetic field. She has been a member of the Birds of Prey, Checkmate, the Justice League, Suicide Squad and the Ultramarine Corps. Vixen was created by Gerry Conwayand Bob Oksner, first appearing in Action Comics #521. (1981)

In ancient Africa, there was a legend that the warrior Tantu asked Anansi the Spider to create a totem that would give the wearer all of the powers of the animal kingdom, if they would use the power to protect the innocent. It is possible that the “Anansi” who Tantu met, may have been a member of the alien race who gave Buddy Baker the ability to tap the Morphogenetic Field. Mari’s Tantu totem may tap into that same field. Tantu used the totem to become Africa’s first legendary hero. The totem was later passed down to Tantu’s descendants until it reached the McCabes.

Growing up in a small African village, Mari Jiwe McCabe heard the legend of the “Tantu Totem” from her parents. She was the daughter of Reverend Richard Jiwe, the village priest, who was her sole caretaker, as poachers, lead by a man named Kwesi, killed her mother years ago. Reverend Jiwe himself was killed by his half-brother (Mari’s uncle) General Maksai. Makasai wanted the Tantu Totem, which had been in Reverend Jiwe’s possession.

Now orphaned, she fled to America. She set up an identity for herself as Mari McCabe and used her beauty to become a well-known fashion model in New York City. She used her newfound wealth to travel the world. On a trip back to Africa, she came across her uncle, and stole back the Tantu Totem, using its power to become the Vixen.

Jill Carlyle (Crimson Avenger)

A criminal attorney who purchased the pistols of the original Crimson Avenger at a pawn shop to use upon someone she deemed guilty of a crime that she failed to convict him of. Once she dispatched him she became enslaved to the weapons, becoming their vessel, so to speak. An ever-bleeding and painful bullet wound manifested in the center of her chest as a chilling emblem of the new Crimson Avenger. Instead of a mask she wears a crimson blindfold over her eyes in tribute to Lady Justice. She apparently has the powers of teleportation and ethereal intangibility. She also gains the memories and skills of the individual she is currently “avenging”. Whether these skills become permanent or are merely temporary is unknown. It is to be assumed that Lee Travis’s skills have automatically been transferred to Jill, the current “wielder”.

She appears in 25 issues (JSA)

Storm/Ororo Munroe

After her parents were murdered in the rubble of a plane crash, Ororo Munro began life as a thief with a severe case of claustrophobia, until she was worshiped as a goddess in a tribe in Africa. After Professor Charles Xavier recruited her for his X-Men, Ororo matured to the point of leading them, fighting for the peaceful coexistence of mutants and humans most of her life. She’s been the object of many powerful men’s obsession including Black Panther, Arkon the Imperion, Dracula, and Dr. Doom. Splitting leadership with Cyclops, Ororo eventually formed the splinter group, X-Treme X-Men, while searching for the future-telling Destiny's diaries. After receiving government sanction for her team, becoming the X-Treme Sanctions Executive, Storm eventually came to be Queen of Wakanda for a time, by way of marrying the Black Panther, but her marriage ended during the Avengers vs X-Men conflict. With her mutant power to manipulate the forces that govern weather, enabling her to summon wind, rain, sleet, snow, and even lightning at will, Storm is the powerful Headmistress of the Jean Grey School and remains a stalwart veteran X-Man.

Thunder/Anissa Pierce

The daughter of Black Lighting, Anissa was told she couldn’t pursue the family business until she graduated college. On the day she did she took on the name Thunder and soon joined Roy and Dick’s team. Thunder’s abilities came into question she was forced to prove herself when the team was reporting to Batman. Thunder was in a relationship with fellow Outsider Grace Choi. Unfortunately was injured during the events following Batman’s death and is in a coma.

Ladyhawk/Regina and Rosetta Morgan

These twins that began their crime fighting career in a very unlikely way. Their father, Mr. Morgan, is a upper level criminal/mobster that was encountering resistance from the super hero of the streets, Falcon; Sam Wilson that would grow to become a heated rivalry. This would be the ember that would start the wildfire known as Ladyhawk. Mr. Morgan would finally find success and end the battling between himself and Falcon when he killed Falcon. His daughters were witnessed the act and decided then that they had to do something. Before they could though, their parents would divorce and the girls would be separated. One would stay with their father and the other would leave with their mother. This would only hinder then slightly as they would shortly regroup and join forces creating the costumed crime fighter known as Ladyhawk. They trained regularly and became very skilled martial artists and mastered many different weapons. They even created shurikens shaped like falcons in remembrance of the fallen hero. On top of that they based their costume design on one of Falcon’s very first costumes.

Once done they started their war on crime. During their time fighting crime they even joined the team the New Warriors. The quite almost as soon as they joined, finding that they we better fit as solo warriors. As a rule they never went on field together. They wanted the public to believe that it was only one girl, not too. That also meant that if one was no longer able to preform as Ladyhawk, the other would take over. Even though they had a plan set in the event that this happened they never thought it would happen. During a heated battle Rosetta was badly injured, nearly dieing. She would be paralyzed and wheelchair-bound. This would change the situation a bit. Regina then took over full-time duties and Ladyhawk, while Rosetta stuck to her computer knowledge to aid her sister any way she could. Shortly after the incident they found that the attack on Rosetta originated from their father Mr. Morgan. It was then that they focused their rage on their father and his downfall.

Nubia

A dark-skinned Amazon warrior and ally to Wonder Woman. Originally she was depicted as a long-lost twin toPrincess Diana, but in Post-Crisis continuity she is a subject of Antiope. In addition to her Amazon strength and fighting prowess, she can open dimensional portals and turn enemies to stone with her gaze. Nu’Bia (1999) was later re-imagined as an Amazonian warrior with 3,000 years of combat experience providing her expertise in both hand-to-hand combat as well as with hand-held weapons. As an Amazonian warrior she also possesses immortality, superhuman strength, durability, stamina, agility and enhanced intellect.

Nubia was created by Robert Kanigher and Don Heck, first appearing in Wonder Woman #204. (1973)

Fatality/Yrra Cynril
Fatality’s home=-world was destroyed thanks to Green Lantern John Stewart causing her to go on a bloody rampage of revenge against the corps. She later joined the Sinestro Corps and was then recruited into the Star Sapphire Corps. The influence of the Star Sapphire helped Fatality get over the death of her planet and forgive John Stewart and let her move on. Since the start of the new 52 Fatality has been appearing monthly in the New Guardians as the representative of the Star Sapphires but has since been replaced by Carol Ferris. Fatality is one of few black female supervillains and has the strength of a true warrior. She is also one of the main Star Sapphires appearing in the comics.

Jet/Celia Windward

The only known female Jamaican-born female superhero, was living in Great Britain when guardians of the universe (creators of the Green Lantern) decided to recruit and empower 10 earthlings to be their successors as the “new guardians.”

Under the name Jet, she received the power to absorb and use electromagnetic waves.

Jet has the ability to fly, create blasts of heat and force, and generate an electromagnetic pulse; move and manipulate metal with magnetic fields; fire blasts of electricity; and see in other frequencies of the spectrum besides visible light, such as ultraviolet and infrared.

When manifesting her powers, her hair appears to be on fire though she has no fire-related abilities. MORE FIRE!

Frenzy/Joanna Cargill

She started off as a mercenary known as “Frenzy.” During a mission, Frenzy came head-to-head with the mutant Gambit, and she developed a love-hate relationship with him. She soon joined forces with three other individuals and formed the Alliance of Evil under Apocalypse’s leadership. She stayed with the group and served in several missions, putting her up against the mutant group X-Factor. Her first order from Apocalypse was to capture Rusty Collins and recruit him into their group. Her plan was foiled by X-Factor, and after a heated battle, she fled from feeling overwhelmed. Using a mutant with the ability to enhance others’ powers, Frenzy’s strength and durability made her a difficult foe for the super-heroes, but she was eventually defeated after the death of her power-heightening accomplice.

Silhoette Chord

Silhouette’s father Andrew Chord was a member of a team that found a well-spring of raw, primal energy called the “Well of All Things.” Chord and other members an American recon patrol decided to breed a superior race.

Through the selective breeding, Silhouette was given the ability to teleport herself over short distances on Earth by traveling through the Darkforce dimension. She can “melt” into any shadow or area of darkness, and then reemerge on Earth through another shadow or area of darkness.

She can also open small portals anywhere shadows existed and use them to attack distant enemies by extending her crutches through them.

After her legs were crippled due to injuries inflicted by gunfire, Silhouette received a special pair of combat-capable crutches and leg braces. The crutches included both a hidden electric tazer that can emit charges to stun an adversary, and a slim anesthetic needle injector that delivers paralytic chemicals. The crutches are also equipped with “smoke gas” and metal firing pellets.

Silhouette also has enhanced speed, strength, agility, and sensory perception. She is a superb hand-to-hand combatant and capable martial artist, and master of an unspecified martial art..

She was not letting those crutches stop her from being great. AT ALL!

Misty Knight/Mercedes “Misty" Knight

My favorite costume on the list… she was always fly… she is highly skilled in martial arts and is a proficient hand-to-hand combatant, with police combat training. She also has near-perfect aim with firearms, and possesses superb detective skills. Her bionic arm is superhumanly strong, and she can punch a target with incredible force, or crush objects as tough as steel in her vise-like grip. However, since the rest of her body is not cybernetically enhanced, she cannot lift objects heavier than her back, shoulders, and legs can physically support. Her arm’s advantages as a weapon are limited to kinetic crushing and impact forces.

Monica Rambeau/Captain Marvel/Spectrum

Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She enlisted into her local police department and quickly rose through the ranks, positioning herself as lieutenant of its Harbor division. While off-duty, she helped a scientist track down an international dictator, who wanted to use a powerful energy machine to take over the United States. After thwarting his plans, she attempted to destroy the machine and was bombarded by extra-dimensional energy. As a result, she gained the ability to turn into any form of energy along the electromagnetic spectrum and discharge it.

Monica Rambeau was created by Roger Stern and John Romita, Jr. Her first comic appearance was in the Amazing Spider-Man Annual #16 (1982).

There are a couple more I would love to add, but I have been compiling this for over an hour. -_-

Enjoy

anonymous asked:

Why do you think fanatical trump supporters such as the_donald are the way they are?

This depends on how you define “the way they are”.

One part is the standard cult of personality thing, where anything Trump says is true, and, if facts contradict this, then too bad for the facts.

Another part is spiteful thinking. Namely, I really despise group X, and if something is making group X mad, that means it goes against their goals, and that means it accomplishes mine. This is actually a sensible strategy if you think group X is smarter than you, by the way, but this is also how you can meme yourself into going against a volcano prediction program because that makes tree-loving libtards mad, which actually happened.

Third is something I call huffing semantics. You know how internet Republicans like @mr-cappadocia and @explainguncontrolandsafespaces (or whatever that guy’s name is) keep insisting that welfare is slavery? Because Democrats are the party of slavery because they were during the Solid South days, and therefore everything they do is pro-slavery? Incidentally, they all deny that parties switched. Why do they do this? It’s completely counterfactual and makes no sense.

That’s because they value semantics over substance. The identifier “Democrats” is more important. That’s also how you see people calling a group hypocrites - they say X but also not X! (cf.: Americans are such hypocrites, they voted for Donald Trump but also Hillary Clinton at the same time) This also makes these people naturally become attracted to “ironic” thinking. Namely: group X says they are against racism, but here we have this example of somebody being racist! Ahhha! How ironic. Therefore, group Y, which is where I am, is /really/ the one who is against racism, unlike the racist group X.

There are other factors in play, like the speed at which information propagates over the internet and the way it keeps circulating forever even if false. But I think it’s primarily these three.

I just really can’t express how much i love this pic. Like I think I have never been so infatuated with a simple photo. Just take a second and watch it carefully. How happy they all look.. How Harry’s eyes crinkle or how the vein on Niall and Louis’ forehead just pops up. Or how Liam tries to hug all of the boys by closing his arms around them and the way Harry just clings onto Liam’s back. And the way Louis pats Liam’s lower back. They are beyond happy. They are thrilled. They have ended this year with one of their best performances to where it all started. They ended their worst yet the best year of their careers. They have put an end to an exhausting era; 5 years of consecutive tours and albums… But this was the best 5 years of their life… Our life. Who have thought that spending the biggest part of your teenage “obsessing” over a boyband would be so fun and full of unforgettable memories? These boys have taught me so much, gave me the best friends I could ask for and they have put a smile on my face through the worst times. So thank you boys for everything. Hopefully we will see you very very soon stronger than ever.

I hope the boys can get enough rest before the OTRA tour ♥

They basically said, the group environment wasn’t exactly conducive for making friends. They were telling us the dynamic within the group was not good. They also said, the five girls together were really hard to manage. (cry me a river)

My first thought when I read those words were, “This is the beginning of the end of Fifth Harmony." Management is telling us what they plan on doing, and they are going to use "group dynamics” as the reason.
