Alright, the “humans are the weird ones” story bits are just to fun so I’m going to keep doing them. They’ll all be tagged as “human aliens” on my blog. Today: aliens encounter a crazy cat lady.

—-

General Xanaxi’na was wary of trusting their human guide when she offered shelter from the “mountain lion” in what the human referred to as her dwelling. Their disbatchment had already lost three soldiers to this creature, so if their human could offer shelter from it’s vicious claws, well, they’d have to take it. Besides, this human was old and the human culture dictated that elders were wise, kind, and to be trusted.

The dwelling was modest, hewn from wood stacked in a criss-cross pattern, and they traipsed up behind their human as she produced a slim metal object, rolling her eyes when the troops reacted as if it were a weapon. She made a show of placing the object inside a metal orb in the middle of the door and turning it, opening a portal into the dwelling as she did. Before any more thought could be given to the potential weponization abilities of the metal object and the orb there was a shuffling in the brush behind them and a shoving match broke out to make it inside.

No one was prepared for the horrors they found once they were within the supposedly safe walls.

Strange balls of fur were scattered all over the room–nearly twenty of them in total–and all different colors. Each had a strange strip of jangly fabric around it’s neck, causing an immense racket when the furs came running towards the group. Bio-scans immediately indicated that they were of a similar make to the dreaded “mountain-lion” still prowling outside and the remaining troops scattered, attempting to find shelter, only to find even more of the furs in other rooms.

Their human watched with mild amusement and General Xanaxi’na demanded answers. How dare she lead them into a trap full of deadly creatures like this?

The human broke out laughing, nearly doubling over in her mirth; “they’re, they’re house-cats!” she gasped. “They’re pets.”

“…What is a pet?”

“You know, a small creature your ancestors domesticated so you could have something to cuddle with? That one is Mr. Ruffles,” she pointed to a large white fur that the general could discern no structure to, “and that is Dorthy,” a fat grey fur with a strangely flat face and unnaturally orange eyes. The human continued to list off names as she pointed to the different creatures, the general growing more and more aghast as she continued to speak.

Finally she scooped up a grizzled looking fur covered in patches of black and white. It had one tooth hanging out of it’s uneven mouth, was missing part of an ear, one eye, and one of it’s rear-limbs.

“And this is Freddy. He fought that mountain-lion last year and won. Such a little trooper,” she said, smiling serenely as she held up the animal for the general’s examination. “Oh, and the lion’s name is Wilma.”

Clearly this human had gone mad.

What Stealing Artwork Does to an Artist

Financially

  • They can get sued. If they work for a company or studio, their artwork is usually copyrighted. Japan has strict laws about that. If their employer or the company finds one of their works floating around, they can get in trouble, and face lawsuits.
  • Many artists participate in doujinshi groups, or cons. To ‘advertise’ their future prints, they sometimes show samples, sometimes even full ones, that can be stolen. And when they try to sell their artwork prints, they get very little revenue, because it’s ALREADY FLOATING AROUND THE INTERNET, so why spend money for it?
  • Again, Artists also rely on commissions to support themselves and their loved ones. For those who are seeking jobs in the industry, having one of their drawings floating around can be very detrimental to their chances of landing a job. If their employer has already seen it on the internet, it looses it’s ‘effect’ once they see it from the artist themselves.
  • Basically, a LOT MORE.

Emotionally & Psychologically

  • It can make them LOSE THEIR CONFIDENCE to draw more artwork, because people keep claiming them as ‘theirs’
  • It can make them DEPRESSED AS HELL, and their family and friends will notice.
  • It can make them feel PARANOID about putting ANY of their works ONLINE.
  • It can make them lose SLEEP, APPETITE, MOTIVATION and INTEREST in doing what they USED TO LOVE TO DO.

Socially

  • Makes them lose their TRUST in letting foreigners see their art
  • Makes them UNCOMFORTABLE sharing their artwork AT ALL
  • Makes them feel so INSECURE that they make their accounts PRIVATE
  • Makes them feel that the best thing to do to stop the problem is to DELETE THEIR ARTWORKS and/or LEAVE COMPLETELY

Many people do not even think about these things. Posting an artwork is as easy as right-click save and paste. But the people who suffer for it are the artists.

This is why it is SO IMPORTANT to ASK PERMISSION. They NEED TO KNOW where their art is going, WHO is allowed to reprint from them, so they can keep track, and WHICH ARTWORK it is. Because some are OK, while others are not. Communication is the KEY to bridging gaps, and fostering TRUST, and building a positive relationship with ANYONE.

Btw, if anyone wants to add a point on there, feel free to message me, and let me know. I’m just putting this here, because many times, we do not even think about how our actions effect other people.

Edit: THIS is not limited to just Artists. Creators/Scanners/Translators (especially on tumblr) are also applicable to this, for the last two categories. I have some SEEN people STOP TRANSLATING/SCANNING for a certain fandom or group because their translations/scans are often STOLEN and pasted to other sites.

There was an underlying excitement that was flooding underneath your skin as you walked into the building. It wasn’t your first time being here but you always felt the exact same each time. There was something about walking into the BigHit building that made you hold yourself differently. It was because of Jungkook that you came so often. He had invited you to come down to the studio and spend the day with him while he practiced.

Jungkook and you went to the same school, but you were in a class younger than him, so it was hard to try and spend time together. He was barely at school because of interviews and other things for the company he worked with. That was why on your weekends you would come down to the studio and watch him practice or hang out with him for a few hours.

It was normal for you now, as you two had been dating for almost a year. The staff almost knew you by name and welcomed you in as if you were just like the other workers there. As he had come back from promotions you were finally able to see him, but he was stuck with the other guys practicing today so he had asked you to join them.

The rest of the boys knew who you were and they loved you. They saw how happy you made Jungkook and they would have never asked for him to find anyone else. In their eyes you two were perfect for each other. Hoseok had always made comments about how he was jealous of your relationship with Jungkook and he wished he would find someone as lovely as you.

Jihyo waved hello to you as you stepped foot into the building and you waved back, returning a smile. Jihyo was the one who you knew the best, as she showed you around the first time you were there. She worked at the front desk, so you always saw her during your visits. The first time you had ever been to the building, Jungkook had told Jihyo to direct you to the practice room. You approached the front desk like normal and smiled.

“Are you here to see your oppa?” She asked, drawing out the last word and laughing slightly. You blushed and sputtered, trying to ignore the look she was giving you.

“I get it… I’d always thought of the concept of ‘teamwork’ as some abstract, emtoional thing. But the fact that you can’t simply say that it’s any one person’s fault… is literally because every play… is connected with the next.”

I just need you

Requested: can u do one where y/n is really drunk at a party and shawn is super worried and isn’t mad he just wants her to be safe and maybe he goes to pick her up or something?????

A/n: I changed the request a tiny bit, so there’s no party, just a club. And I added a little argument between y/n and Shawn because why not?

“You’re going out with Kami’s friends?” Shawn asks, after you casually mentioned who you were going out with tonight. The tone of his voice is disapproving, and it bothers you, but you don’t want to bring it up, knowing you’re both on the verge of fighting already. Its been a long week, and you’ve both been stressed and getting into a lot of little fights and arguments because of it. You really don’t want to go through another one right now. You don’t have the emotional energy for that.

“Yeah,” You answer simply. Kami is a new friend, you haven’t hung out with her long, but for some reason Shawn doesn’t seem to like her, at all. Even though he’s only met her a few times. Tonight you’re going out with her and a bunch of her friends, most of which you’ve only met once, but its good to meet new people and make new friends, and you’re certain you’re going to have a good time with them.

“Be careful, okay.” Is all he replies.

“What are you talking about, Shawn?” You ask, already upset. Even though you don’t have a right to be upset, you feel like Shawn doesn’t trust you. You’re an adult and you can take care of yourself. You don’t like being treated like a child.

“I’m just saying be careful tonight, don’t drink too much.” He responds. He should know that those words would make you upset, but he said them anyway.

You check the time on your phone. Kami is supposed to be by to pick you up in ten minutes. Meaning this argument is going to be over soon whether or not it actually is. “I’m not fourteen, Shawn. I know how to handle my alcohol.”

You stood quietly next to Greta and your friends as you walked into the girls bathroom. You should’ve known what was coming, but you weren’t thinking it through. As soon as you saw a closed stall, however, you knew what was going down. “Come on Greta, she’s not worth our time.” You tried, but she only glared at you. Sighing, you stepped back and let them do their thing. That is, until you saw the trash about to be dumped on Beverly’s head. “Okay, stop. This is ridiculous.” You said, pushing yourself off the wall and storming over to Greta.

“Why, Y/N? Why are you standing up for a loser like her?” Greta asked, looking you up and down. “Because she’s nicer than you’ll ever be.” You spat, and you looked over just in time to see trash get dumped into Bev’s stall. “Whatever, Y/N. I was only friends with you because of Henry, anyways.” Greta said, in a sickly-sweet voice. “Come on, girls.” She gestured for the other two to follow, which they did, and waved to you innocently. “Have fun with the losers, Y/N.” With that, they left.

“Hey, are you okay?” You asked, as Beverly walked out of the stall. “Yeah, thanks Y/N.” She said, looking at you cautiously. “It’s Beverly, right?” You asked, politely. “Yeah. Beverly Marsh. How’d you know?” She asked, confused. “I, unlike Greta, have the decency to learn people’s names.” You said, and you both laughed. “I have a feeling you and I are going to be great friends, Beverly Marsh.” You said, and she laughed. “Me too, Y/N Bowers.”

One Week Later

You ran downstairs, bidding your dad goodbye quickly, before he could give you a lecture on your brother’s disobedience, you left the house and grabbed your bike, getting away as soon as possible. Your dad wasn’t exactly fond of your brother, but he absolutely adored you. You never gave him much reason to scold you, always maintaining good grades, and doing as told. Unlike Henry, who struggled with instructions and preferred attending school for bullying, rather than actual work.

You biked to Beverly’s house, waiting outside. You knew her dad wasn’t exactly fond of her friends, but he tolerated you. You were always very polite to him, and he was always on about how you were such a “good influence on his baby girl”, and how “those misbehaved boys” were not. It always made you a bit uncomfortable, since you’d never properly met the boys. This was why you waited outside.

Not 5 minutes later, Bev came bounding out of her house, running down the many flights of stairs and grabbing her bike. The two of you biked around town together, chatting about random topics, mostly how you were glad school was over. Bev suddenly lit up, her face showing excitement. “You haven’t met the Losers yet!” she exclaimed, out of nowhere. “The who?” You asked, confused. “My friends, come on! We’re meeting up at the quarry today, you should come!” She exclaimed, and you gulped. “I-I don’t know, Bev..” You said, nervously.

You both stopped your bikes, pulling over to talk a bit easier. “Why not? Don’t you wanna meet my friends?” She asked, a bit hurt. “No! I mean yes! It’s not that, Bev. It’s my brother.” You said, biting your lip nervously. “What? What about him?” She asked, curiously. “Everyone knows me as Y/N Bowers, Henry’s little sister. My brother probably bullies the crap out of them.” You stated, rolling your eyes at the thought. She stayed quiet, and you knew he did. “Exactly, Bev. It’s okay, you go ahead. I’ll be fine.” You faked a smile, trying to act happy. “Nice try, you’re coming anyways.” Bev decided, and you sighed. You weren’t going to win, and you knew it, so you simply followed her to the destination, nerves flooding your system.

You see, it wasn’t easy for you to make friends. Being the notorious Henry Bower’s little sister, made you an impossible target. Everyone thought you’d be like your brother, and never once gave you a chance. That’s why you were friends with Greta and her group. They knew you were popular around town, and if a Bowers was in her group, she’d be unstoppable. Now that she’d built up a reputation, it seemed she didn’t need you anymore. You were fine with that.

Much sooner than you would’ve liked, you arrived at the Quarry. Beverly’s friends, who apparently, were all guys, looked at you like you were crazy, and suddenly anger flashed in one of their eyes. You recognized him to be Richie Tozier. “What the fuck are you doing here?” He spat, and you flinched. “I-I, um, uh…” You stuttered, slowly backing away. “Chill, Richie, she’s with me.” Beverly said, grabbing your arm and pulling you with her. Frowning, you scanned the group. They all looked either pissed, or scared of you. “Bev, I told you this was a bad idea.” You whispered, and she shook her head. “You’re staying.” she instructed.

One of the taller boys came over, grabbing Beverly and pulling her off to the side. “How could you be friends with her, Bev? She’s Henry Bowers’ sister!” He whispered, angrily. He had curly hair. It took you a second to remember his name, Stanley Uris. He was one of the smartest kids in your grade. The smallest boy fumbled with something in his.. Fanny pack? He whipped out an inhaler, taking a big breath from it. “Are you alright?” You asked him, and he flinched at your voice. “Fine.” He said, his voice small. He jumped behind Richie, who glared at you fiercely.

“What do you want, Bowers?” Richie said, pushing past an arguing Beverly and stood right in front of you. “She’s probably just here to bully us, just like your brother. We don’t want you here, Y/N. Go home to your fake friends and your fucking dumbass idiot brother, and bother someone else, bitch.” He spat, and the group gasped. Richie was known to be blunt, but this was straight up rude. You were sick of it, but you weren’t going to fight. A tear slipped down your face, knowing most of what he said was the brutal truth.

Not many people would be honest with you, ever, because they were scared if they’d hurt you, Henry would hurt them. You two were very close growing up, but you stopped talking to him altogether when he started bullying kids. You tried to stop him many times, but you were shooed away. Still, people failed to treat you like a person, because they were scared of the things he could do.

“You know, Richie. I admire you.” You said, smiling sadly. This took him completely by surprise, him even taking a step back. “What?” He asked, confused. Clearly everyone else was curious, too, as they all moved in closer. “Not many people would be brave enough to stand up to me, especially not people who my brother typically target.” You said, wiping a tear. “I admire your bravery and wit. I’m sorry for everything my brother put you,” You paused, looking around at the rest of the group. “all of you, through. I hate how he treats you all, you’re all such great people, and an amazing group of friends. I’m not gonna lie, I’m kinda jealous.” You finished. The group was silent, Bev coming and giving you a quick hug.

“W-well, Y/N, w-would y-you want t-to s-stay?” Bill stuttered, and you smiled. “It’s alright, I don’t want to intrude.” You insisted, going to grab your bike. “Wait! I’m sorry, don’t leave. I’ll let you push me into the water!” Richie shouted, and you turned around, eyebrows raised. “You want me to feel better about you being mean, or you too scared to jump in yourself?” You teased, and Eddie, Bev, and Ben all laughed. Bill and Stanley refrained themselves, but were smiling. “I like her!” Eddie exclaimed, excitedly. “Please stay!” He said, pulling a ‘puppy-dog’ face. “Okay. Who can say no to that face?!” You exclaimed, earning a chorus of laughter from the group and Eddie’s cheeks to heat up.

You quickly threw off your dress, leaving you in your undergarments. Beverly copied you, and you two silently agreed to jump together. The boys gawked, and you only laughed at them. You grabbed Bev’s hand, running off and jumping without hesitation. “Holy shit!” You heard Richie cry, and you laughed as you disappeared under the water. The boys followed suit, and you were all splashing each other and enjoying the warm summer day.

That day, you (as well as Bev and Ben) became official members of the Loser’s Club. You finally met your best friends, and you were a proud loser. As soon as Henry learned that you began to hang out with the losers, he immediately shut you out, not that you really minded. You spent most of your time out of your house, mostly with the losers. You had finally escaped your brother’s shadow, and you couldn’t have asked for a better group of friends.

Ethan Nestor was not a cat person. Sure, he thought they were cute, thought they were soft. Yet, if there was any other type of dog in the room, he would immediately make a b-line for it. He loved Chica to bits, hugging her and petting her as much as possible. In a way, it was his way of remembering his dogs back home. He missed his two best friends, Max and Dexter, more than anything in the world. His love of dogs was something everyone knew. Many times, the team would lose track of Ethan just to find him curled up on the floor cuddling the golden retriever, or even taking her for random walks if she needed it. It was a precious relationship they had.

Until one day, when Ethan walked through the door, Chica immediately ran up barking loudly. Ethan jumped, surprised by her sudden attack. Never had Chica ever been so hostile with him, so aggressive. A large blush covered his cheeks, embarrassment dusking face and neck.

"Chica! China, no! No barking!“ Mark approached Chica, forcefully pulling his dog away from the red faced editor. Amy was quick to rush over, pulling Ethan in the other direction.

"Ethan? You okay?” The boy only nodded, quickly brushing himself off as if trying to get rid of something.

“What happened?” She asked as Mark approached them.

"I don’t know. I’ve never seen her act like that before.“ As if coming to a realization, Mark slowly looked to Ethan out of the corner of his eye, who was still rapidly sweeping his hands over his clothes. "The last time she did that, was when Katherine brought her cat home for the first time." Ethan completely froze, a small grimace twitching his lip upwards. "Chica doesn’t take to nicely to cats .” Amy quickly turned to Ethan, her eyes wide. Ethan? With a cat?

“Ah! See, no. Not what you’re thinking. I was just, uh. When I was walking from my car, a cat came up next to me. I pet it for only like a second. Ha. Wow, Chica has a really strong nose. What a smart dog!” And that was that.

Ethan immediately threw himself into editing, only talking when absolutely necessary. He fumbled over things, dropped his headphones more than once, and even walked right into a chair. Everyone was concerned. Was he okay? Never had they seen the blue boy act so strange, and that was saying something. Ethan was the first person out the door that day. Granted, he was one of the first to be there, but rarely had anyone seen Ethan leave that fast. He had finished all his work, so why did Mark find his actions suspicious.

The next day, Ethan was back. He walked in with his usual swagger, greeting Chica with a smile and a pat before plopping down at his desk. He waved hello to his friends, cracked jokes, and even was willing to film a video with Mark and Tyler. Mark couldn’t help exchanging looks with Amy, confusion pushing his eyebrows together. Had yesterday just been an off day? Did he completely imagine it? Despite Ethan acting like his usual self today, Mark couldn’t help the nagging feeling that lingered.

His confusion only raised as weeks past and Ethan’s behavior only began to get stranger. Somedays, the blue boy would come in with a large smile, happily bouncing all around, nothing fazing him. Others, he would come deflated, like he was upset but no one could figure out why. Well, not everyone. Ethan and Katherine only seemed to get closer as Ethan’s behavior became more sporadic. They would sometimes be found in the small kitchen, whispering quietly to each other, but as soon as anyone entered, they would break apart and continue whatever they were doing silently. Other times, they would leave together, claiming they were carpooling, despite the fact that they lived in complete opposite directions, and brought their cars that day. The rest of the team couldn’t help but get more and more suspicious. It was Pam who suggested maybe they had started dating, but wanted to keep it a secret incase it didn’t work out. Based on what they had seen so far, no one had disagreed, and a pact was made. They would give Katheryn and Ethan as much space as they wished, and no questioning them. They would tell the group when they were ready.

Nearly a year had passed, and now Mark was getting angry. If Ethan and Katheryn were actually dating, they would have told them already, surely! He started huffing, pacing back and forth. Amy sat across from him, lounging on his couch.

"I just don’t understand. Do they not trust me?“ Mark started pacing faster, rubbing his hand through his hair. Amy sighed lightly. Mark did have a point. Amy thought that Katheryn was her friend, her best friend. They always told each other everything, even the gross stuff that should have been kept to themselves.

"I don’t know, Mark. But I trust Katheryn. If she hasn’t told me yet, there has to be a reason. Maybe they want to be super sure before they tell us. It is a big deal after all. Mark sighed, pacing back and forth for a few more seconds before giving up. He plopped himself beside his girlfriend, laying his head in her lap. Sighing one more time, he crossed his arms.

"But I wanna knoooooow.” The childish response pulled a laugh out of the blonde woman. Leaning down for a quick kiss, Amy pressed play on the movie they had had queued up a few minutes ago, relaxing into their Sunday night plans.

Another month or two passed, the group now settling the idea that Katheryn and Ethan were dating. Now, it was a waiting game. When were they going to tell them? And just like that, the bets began. Tyler had guessed within the next two months. Pam had said within four weeks. Amy had said in the next two. And Mark, ever the optimist, said by the end of the week.

However, as the week passed, as Friday quickly approached. On the day in question, everyone had gathered in the editing room, passing glances to each other. The only people missing - Katheryn and Ethan. Mark was getting more and more excited. Today was the day. It had to be the day. Mark’s excitement only grew as Kathryn quickly rushed into the room, a bright smile on her face.

“Guys! Ethan really wants to see you at the front door.” Her smile pushed her cheeks into her eyes, but it didn’t seem to die down, even though it was starting to look painful. She quickly waved her hand, beckoning them to follow her. And they all did, almost too excited. Despite her confusion to their eagerness, she pushed them forward, crowding them into the small entrance way of the office. Ethan was already there, nervously bouncing on his toes. He smiled sheepishly as they finally arrived.

"Hey guys.“ He scratched the back of his head, looking to the ground. "Listen. I know I haven’t been the most discrete the last few months, but I have a really good reason."

"Ethan. We already know.” It was Tyler who had spoken. Mark was quick to retaliate, shoving his elbow into the taller man.

"What? No, no we don’t. Continue, Ethan. You were saying?“

"Wait.” It was Katheryn now who stepped forward. “You know? For how long?” Amy looked at her guiltily.

“A year."

"A year?!?” Ethan shouted in surprise. His stomach twisted into knots. A year. They had known for a year. He could have avoided all of this sneaking around, all the secrecy, for a year. He felt deflated now, but almost relieved.

“I’m so sorry Ethan!” Amy spoke again, stepping forward. “We really wanted to ask about it, but we wanted you to do it on your own terms.” The genuine smile that crossed his features made the rest of the room smile just as easily.

"You guys are the best. Well, not the best. Could have saved all this secrecy and panic, but I’m glad you all know now.“ Ethan smiled again, now more excited than nervous. "I’ve been waiting all year to tell you. I really wanted to do it sooner, but I knew I wanted to be absolutely sure before I introduced you to her.” This caused the room to gain an air of confusion. Meet? But they all knew Katheryn already…unless…

"Wait! You’re not dating Katheryn?!?“ Pam practically shouted this, pointing accusingly between the two parties. In an instant, both Ethan and Katheryn had looked at each other for a second before shouting loudly in disgust.

 "What? No way in hell!"

"I mean, no offence to Katheryn, but no way!” Before anyone could get any louder, a single hesitant tap on the door caused the room to fall silent. The disgust that once covered Ethan’s face was replaced with excitement. He wasted no time throwing open the door, a new comer standing just at the threshold. In a very three stooges fashion, the team had all lined themselves up to get a glimpse of this person, the person who was in fact dating Ethan and wasn’t Kathryn. Ethan swopped down with no doubt in his mind, claiming her lips in a sweet kiss. She smiled brightly, returning it quickly before being allowed to step through the door. She smiled at the group, scanning her eyes over one before giving her brightest to the one familiar face in the room.

"Hello! It’s very nice to finally meet you all. I’m (Y/N).“

 Extra

The group was now walking down the street, heading to their favorite lunch spot. (Y/N) followed in tow, her hand clasped tightly in Ethan’s. They were lagging far behind the others, trapped in their own world, occasionally stopping to admire the view, or share another quick kiss. "I just don’t understand.” Amy said, turning her head to look at the shorter brunette. “How do you know (Y/N)? And what was with all the secrecy?” “Oh!” Katheryn almost looked guilty, looking to the floor before meeting her friends eyes. “Remember when we went to see that movie? The really cheesy one with the dead girl?” Amy nodded in recognition. “Well, when I was headed to the bathroom half way through the movie, I spotted Ethan at the ticket booth, hand in hand with that girl. And he saw me too. He quickly panicked, and made me promise not to tell anyone. They both wanted to go slow, didn’t want to be pressured by their friends.” “But that still doesn’t explain why Chica’s was acting weird around him.” Mark said ahead of them, turning to walk backwards to join the conversation. Kathryn laughed lightly. “That’s the day I caught them. That night, Ethan slept over at her house. She has the most adorable cat in the world. Oh my god, you guys need to meet her. She’s so sweet.” And thats how the cast and crew of Markiplier ended up at your house, Chica and your precious cat alternating sitting people’s laps, laughing and getting to know you. You were so lucky your boyfriends friends were so kind. You shared a smile with Ethan, leaning over to give him a sweet kiss. Yep, you were definitely very lucky.
