In the always up and down world of freelance photography, you really have to enjoy the rare dream gigs when they come along. I could not be more stoked to share these images from this past summer on one such job photographed for the new Holiday Issue of Bloomberg Pursuits. The adventure eco-tourism travel story focused on flying into remote Alaska finding the Pacific Walrus in their natural habitat. Our guides at Crystal Creek Lodge flew Beaver Planes and Bush planes to land on a remote stretch of Alaska’s Bristol Bay coastline along the Bering Sea to observe a large group of male Walrus’s. The experience was incredible and one of the most distinct smells I will never forget (think wet dog x10000). I loved observing infamous fly fishing destination the Naknek River from above as well as spotting Caribou, Grizzlies and foxes in the Alaskan bush.
