Drew all of my birdie knights together for the first time! Still have to come up with a name for their order, though. Despite my deep and abiding love for 12th-century Teutonic mail and the great helm, I wanted them better armed, and also my setting is somewhat more advanced. But I am not a particular fan of plate mail (16th century stuff is so gaudy), so I compromised and am going with 14th-century transitional stuff: Mail, with breastplate and arm- and leg-guards, and visored bascinet. I had to learn how to draw armor, hence the sketchiness. XD I may tweak the designs later, and did not include the birds painted on their visors. Anyway, quick introduction to the crew, from left to right:
Roller: Female runic mage; mid-thirties. Centralist. Gregarious and personable, and likes fire spells a lot.
Shrike: Male innate (blood) mage; late twenties. Easterner. Quiet and sardonic, and the newest member of the order.
Vulture: Male Master of Cats; late fifties. Centralist. Owns and breeds a colony of the big Northern hunting cats. Cold and stand-offish, except to his cats.
Owl: Male alchemist, runic mage, and inventor; late sixties. Centralist. A complete sociopath, he is the resident torture expert.
Tern: Female archer; mid/late fifties. Centralist. Observant and thoughtful, and the closest thing the group has to a leader.
Osprey: Female warrior/berserker; early forties. Southerner. Bluff and cheerful, and always ready for a good fight.
Egret: Female warrior; late thirties. Northerner. Uptight and dour, she has probably the highest moral standards of the group.
