Sip Your Way to Clearer Skin With This Breakout-Fighting Smoothie
This creamy smoothie recipe is made from Vitamin E-rich spinach and avocado and sweetened with grapes that contain anti-inflammatory antioxidants. You’ll love the taste of the strawberries that also help fight free-radical damage, giving skin a more radiant glow. Almond butter offers the minerals zinc and selenium, both essential for healthy skin, and a sprinkle of flaxmeal contains omega-3s that help reduce inflammation.
2 cups raw spinach ¼ avocado ½ cup red grapes (fresh or frozen) ½ cup frozen strawberries 1 tablespoon almond butter 1 teaspoon flaxmeal 1 cup water
Place all ingredients in a blender, and mix well. Enjoy immediately.
Ingredients: 1 cup frozen peach slices, 1 frozen banana, 2 cups loosely packed spinach, and ½ cup water.
Method: Thaw the frozen fruit in cold water until it’s all just a little mushy. Cut the banana up into smaller pieces so it’ll blend more easily. Put all of the ingredients into a blender, blend to your desired consistency, top with chia seeds, then enjoy!

In case you were in need of more green smoothie recipes, here’s this week’s green smoothie spotlight! The PB2 experiment in the apples and peanut butter was an awesome success and had the added bonus of more protein (it’s also a great way to use PB2 if you’re thinking of testing it out) and the triple berry was really more of a dessert than a breakfast haha but that’s what green smoothies are for, right? Of all of them though, the winner this week (although peaches and cream was a close second) had to be the morning wake up call. I was having a tough morning so I just threw everything I love into a smoothie and it completely turned my day around, I hope it can do that for you too! With the lemon, cut off the knobby end (about 1 inch in) then cut the thinnest slice you can, rind and all).
