gray-matters

Hi cunt women are lesser animals, with usually smaller brains, less neurons, and less synapses. That's why women rely more on instinct and emotion, rather than logic or reason. That also explains women's relative lack of intellectual accomplishments or invention over the past 3,000 years (and more). Your gender's main contributions have been singing, giving birth, cooking and cleaning, Nearly everything women have accomplished is with help from men or from a group of men. Women deserve no rights

Hi dickhead I’m feeling petty this morning so I’m gonna eviscerate this swill part by part. It seems like the concept of basic science confuses you. I’ll start by citing this article for you and provide some choice quotes. It used a heavily peer-reviewed study and the methodology was completely sound (i read the whole goddamn original work and several of its external citations).

“On average, for example, men tend to have a larger amygdala, a region associated with emotion. Such differences are small and highly influenced by the environment, yet they have still been used to paint a binary picture of the human brain,“

“Depending on whether the researchers looked at gray matter, white matter, or the diffusion tensor imaging data, between 23% and 53% of brains contained a mix of regions that fell on the male-end and female-end of the spectrum. Very few of the brains—between 0% and 8%—contained all male or all female structures.”

A list of early inventions by women (it includes elevated rail-lines, Kevlar, and the submarine telescope! the lack of patents taken out by women early on is actually because men made it illegal for a woman to hold a patent in her name until the early 1900s. those darn men, always inhibiting progress)

Tbh I do agree with you on the singing being a main contribution, just because women have nicer voices (in my opinion) and are much more likely to use their songwriting expertise to push activist and progressive agendas.

Maybe don’t come into my inbox with this shit when you don’t know what you’re talking about? Put away the 18th century medical book and take a chill pill.

Gray Matters Theory to OUAT and LGBTQ+ Representation Rant (Because that’s how I roll)

Are they telling us that Gray and Milah (on OUAT) Rachel Shelley’s character are going to end up together? I mean, they’re both in about the same shade of green in the scene where “Milah” compliments Gray on her work skills. The same kind of green Gray has been complimented on before when wearing it.

Wardrobe is usually chosen for a reason. I learnt this from the countless shows I’ve watched over the years. From putting Lois and Clark on Smallville in red and blue outfits in important scenes before they became a couple, especially ones where they talked about romantic relationships, to all the telling outfits on OUAT for Emma and Regina especially.

Then there’s the suggestive nature to “give me exactly what I’m looking for” on Gray Matters directed from Rachel Shelley’s character to Gray.

And I know from comments on OUAT that Rachel Shelley was a lesbian character on The L Word. Come to think of it, as I said, she’s also on OUAT. Along with the actress for he Black Fairy whom I’ve read has also either playd a gay character before or is gay. Which makes me wonder if actors are sometimes also chosen for their background, in real life and acting-wise, to clue the audience in to certain things.

Like in Gray Matters that Rachel Shelley’s character and Gray will eventually get together. I mean, that and the wardrobe. And the suggestive comment? That’s three out of three.

This both gives me hope for Swan Queen to happen on screen in full on text and candid action and makes me think I wouldn’t be surprised if they left it up in the air. As in, I don’t for a second believe that Emma will end up with Hook or Regina will end up with Robin, but I also wouldn’t put it past the writers to leave the show open-ended. I heard they did such a thing with Lost. So they might end up neither confirming or denying Emma and Regina’s attraction, but also not putting it in candid text and action moreso than they’ve already done, so that means no kissing and reciprocated “I love you”s. Instead they might just choose to give us Emma, Regina and Henry walking away as a family or Emma and Regina staring into each other’s eyes or saying suggestive things to each other without it going further than that. Maybe an “Ad they lived happily ever after” as they walk away together, leaving it up to the audience to decide what that means.

I still think it would be a copout, because the world needs an openly gay fairy tale romance that didn’t come out of left field but was built up the way hetero romances are, over time, with all the uncertainty lasting ages, and the will-they-won’t-they. Because I’ve got news for you, not every gay couple figures shit out just like that. Not every gay couple meets now, knows they’re gay and wants to be out and sleeps together, moves in together and gets married all in the same week.

I think maybe a lot do, because they spend so much time trying to be straight that once they realize they’re gay and out they’re just exhausted and so ready to get on with their lives as who they really are. Making up for lost time. But some people figure out they’re gay because they fall in love with someone who may also love them but they may not realize it of each other and be in agony together. Because what’s the point of coming out if the person they want may not want them.

It’s real and Supergirl and Gray Matters have probably come the closest to capturing it. But there is more than one way to tell the story/the struggle of LGBTQ+ people and people have only really begun to scratch the surface. And I think Once Upon a Time has a great chance to tell what could be one of the most iconic versions ever told. And I really and truly hope they have the guts to tell it all the way. Fully, without holding back. Or apologies. Because it would be real, beautiful and relatable. And people need that. There is so much heterosexual/conventional stuff to relate to out there. Not a lot of unconventional stuff. And hell, representation does matter. Because not everyone is a pioneer, certainly not in every aspect of their lives. Sometimes you need to see that something is possible and can have a happy ending to believe that is possible for yourself. How are gay people who have been brainwashed straight supposed to recognize their own gayness, their own feelings for the same sex if they don’t even know that such a thing exists, that they exist and are valid for existing.

I think there are too many people who choose to be someone else because they don’t know that being themselves is a viable option. A valid one. A lot don’t even recognize themselves. Don’t even want to because they think they’re automatically doomed if they choose to be themselves. Or they don’t even know that they exist and are not alone and what it, being them, entails, both the good and the bad. Not just the bad. The challenges they’ll most likely face being who they are. And that a good, happy life is possible in spite of those challenges. So they can make an informed decision about what they choose to do with their lives and who they choose to be with. And I think that is something that needs to be addressed.

This, OUAT, is one fundamental way to do it. By starting at the beginning. The fairy tales we heard from the womb that told us we were meant to be with the opposite sex at all cost. By going back and re-making them. Into something that is representative of as much of humanity and the versions of true love as you can manage. Demolishing the idea that true love is limited to romantic and sexual love between a man and a woman. OUAT has already started to do this. And even Disney is changing that message with movies like Frozen. Showing us that true love between family members, between sisters also exists. This is the next step. This is the future. The path to unconditional love and acceptance of people who love in an unconventional way romantically and sexually, without harming each other or others. Because love is love. And it’s time to acknowledge that in a fundamental way. Fairy tales were created to teach lessons. Morale. So why not use them to teach the lesson of all inclusive true love? And acceptance of, or at the very least respect for, that true love?

@ all the Muslims on my post telling me that Islamic thought is “largely homophobic” or that sheikhs who are homophobic “aren’t inherently bad or devoid of knowledge” or some other recycled apologist bs like that: Just block me and never talk to me again. It’s people like you that keep making LGBTQ+friendly Islamic spaces hard to happen.

Homophobes are homophobes and they are bad people. This isn’t some “gray area” matter.

Edit: Putting things into perspective–would you listen to a well-researched and knowledgeable khutbah from the mouth of shaytan?

What do listening to music, hitting a baseball and solving a complex math problem have in common? They all activate less gray matter than drinking wine.

According to Yale neuroscientist Gordon Shepherd, the flavor of wine “engages more of our brain than any other human behavior.” The apparently simple act of sipping Merlot involves a complex interplay of air and liquid controlled by coordinated movements of the the tongue, jaw, diaphragm and throat. Inside the mouth, molecules in wine stimulate thousands of taste and odor receptors, sending a flavor signal to the brain that triggers massive cognitive computation involving pattern recognition, memory, value judgment, emotion and of course, pleasure.

Whereas most wine writers tend to focus on the various elements that go into the wine itself — the grape, the oak, terroir, the winemaker — Shepherd’s subject is the drinker. He explores biomechanics, physiology and neuroscience to describe a journey that begins as wine passes the lips and ends with a lingering “finish” that can last for minutes.

More OUAT and Gray Matters

Yass!!!! I was right about Milah! They were hinting at her as a love interest for Gray. In Gray Matters her name is Julia and she just met Gray in a gay bar! Score! *patting myself on the back for calling it based on the cues

(I have seen this movie before but couldn’t for the life of me remember the ending. I thought she maybe would end up painting a new space and staring happily at the new paint on the walls or something, idk.)

Just makes me think even more than I already do that I, along with a buttload of other people are also right about Swan Queen being hinted at as having romantic potential on OUAT.

I still wouldn’t put it past the writers to leave it open-ended or at least up for interpretation. The potential romance, aside from the rest of the story, I mean. I hope they make it candid in text and action through love confessions and at least one make out session between Emma and Regina, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t. I do suspect that by the end of the show no male love interest will be in the picture for Emma or Regina, though.

Keep a notebook. Travel with it, eat with it, sleep with it. Slap into it every stray thought that flutters up into your brain. Cheap paper is less perishable than gray matter. And lead pencil markings endure longer than memory.
