there are wolves in the night. the soldiers would say that when i was a girl, my uncles and brothers, in war. my friends, raising me on battlefield because there was nowhere else to go. there are wolves, they would say. and there are stories about wolves and girls. girls in red, all alone in the woods, about to get eaten up. wolves and girls both have sharp teeth.

Oh god. A Merlin reincarnation au where they’ve all being reincarnated and they’re all having Christmas together, and Gwaine gives Merlin his present but when Merlin reaches inside the gift bag he pulls out none other than an edible penis (Think Catherine Tate “Did you hear about our John? He’s a gay man now!”)
And then Merlin just kind of sits there then he just sighs and looks at the heavens and says “Why am I surprised?”
And Gwaine just kind of leans over and says “It’s edible” like it’s some amazing, fantastic revelation.
And Merlin just gives him a look and says “I can see that.”

“I was a strange child. I was the kid with funny hair listening to dodgy music … I’d come in with my hoodie and skate-shoes, with purple hair under the hood. I got away with it because I spent all my time in the art room, so they figured I was ‘artistic’. I was that kind of kid, listening to Green Day and the Deftones and all that kind of thing.”

It was not a soft face, any more that her body was soft. She was a woman of strong lines and high bones, and that made for a good face and a handsome one, but hard, so hard. [..] There have been many more beautiful women, and thousands who were better, but since the world was weaned I doubt there have been many more so unforgettable as Guinevere, eldest daughter of Leodegan, the exiled King of Henis Wyren.  And it would have been better, Merlin always said, had she been drowned at birth.  [Bernard Cornwell]
