“Freelance illustrator Eelco [Virus] van den Berg trained at the Rotterdam School of Creative Arts,” reports Digital Arts, “but cut his creative teeth on the streets.” While recent years have seen him more occupied with his commercial work, he has not forgotten his roots and, explaining the origin of his name to Brooklyn Street Art, said “In the eighties I got infected with the hip hop ‘virus,’ especially with graffiti.” In 2014 Virus was on St. Nicholas Ave. in Brooklyn painting this work for Bushwick Collective in his distinctive style—described as a mix of the folkloric and the graffuturist along with 3-D modeling.  @iameelco  @thebushwickcollective  @bushwickdaily  @bkstreetart
