that banned books post frustrates me for multiple reasons
1. That’s not the 2017 banned books list. The real list is on the ALA website. Those are books that have gotten the most challenges over the years and not even just in the USA
2. The banned books list is not a list of books that were actually BANNED. They are the books that received the most challenges that year. Something like 90% of the time, books that are challenged are not REMOVED from a collection. Reading lists and schools are different, but you’re not talking about how the list actually works.
3. More often than not, things that are challenged and removed are put back on lists or sought out by people to read anyway. Administrations change, people are curious, and your public library more than likely has everything the school chooses to avoid the parent whine trap by pulling
for the love of god, use google. ALA comes up second after the official week site when you actually look up banned books/banned books week
