Minnie was in class and the only other person he wanted talk about his first was Goofy. It was Goofy who had asked him to come work here in the first place. Mickey loved working as the Muggle Studies professor, but when the Ministry approached him to take over as headmaster,in the upcoming year, he wasn’t quite sure this was what he wanted, but at least it would mean he’d always be there with them and he’d have more say over whether the two of them kept their jobs or not. The academy was heavily watched over by the Ministry, and Mick knew that at least this way he would be able to make sure they didn’t have a crippling hold over them.
Knocking on Goof’s office door in the courtyard keep, he opened the door and popped his head inside as though his signature ping-ponging knock didn’t do that already. “Hey, Goof, got a moment?” He stepped in and shut the door behind him. He had three people in this world that he cared about the most, but Goofy was the one he’d known the longest, almost since birth. They’d grown up together. He loved him more than almost anyone in this world. “What you up to, old boy?”
Mick woke up and he realized he hadn’t woken up when he wanted to., He was going to be late. The students were already arriving and he wasn’t anywhere near ready. He should be downstairs waiting for them to arrive and he already knew they were down in the courtyard and the great hall mingling and greeting old friends. And where was he? Still in bed!
“I’m late!” he yelped, jumping out of the bed he shared with Goofy in the headmaster’s suite. This was only his second year as headmaster, and it was still new to him, but last year had been good, he only wanted this year to be as good or better. He ran straight for the bathroom, only to end up tripping over one of their pants they’d shucked off last night before bed. Landing on his face, he cracked up laughing. “You know, you think we’d be better about not leaving our clothes lying around like this.”
