goniurellia tridens

Goniurellia tridens known as the 3-in-1-insect.

When threatened it flashes its wings to give the appearance that insects are crawling back and forth to keep predators from attacking then it  "zips off.“ Although researchers are not yet certain what type of insect the fly is trying to mimic as a pattern on its wings, they are certain it is due to the abundance of predators on the tree they often reside on.

Isn’t nature just magical?
