Time-honored standards made to last are doing more these days, instead creating modernity from the past. One such brand breathing new life into old classics is L.A. based, RE / DONE. Manufactured locally, the founders Sean Barron and Jamie Mazur describe their unique denim pieces as not as singular styles, but a collective movement. Taking vintage Levi’s selected carefully from across the U.S., the designers rip each seam apart and stitch them back together with their stories still intact. The cropped version, seen above with fraying at the hem is the most nostalgic of distressed blue washes. With an easy grey sweater and a favorite pair of sneakers, the denim stands out by looking perfectly in place. From any viewpoint, the blue jeans make a statement, each layer of wear adding invaluable, immeasurable, worn-in worth.
