going to post this to deviantart later

Sport Swimsuit Twilight Sparkle

So, here’s a confession I must make: I do have a bit of a thing for high-leg one-piece swimsuits, so, er… yeah, this is definitely going to be the first one of a series.

I made a few variations on this, including a couple of NSFW ones which I’ll later post in my Patreon.

Daily Doodle! 7/13/17
To @imaginashon

Alright! I’m gonna tell you a story. Once upon a time (somewhere in the the last ten years) I was a very shy person. I didn’t really have too many friends (I graduated middle school with 9 other classmates). And I only watched cartoons in my spare time.
At some point I discovered DeviantArt and found other people like me, who drew their favorite characters. At the time it was Danny Phantom and Phineas and Ferb. I found a bunch of great artists, including Kicsterash. I started posting my crummy old drawings online. I had used a camera to take a picture of lined paper I had doodled on. After some time I had stopped going on DA. But I saw the Phineas and Ferb Episode “Act Your Age” years later.
I recognised the art from deviantart! It was really cool. And Now, to learn that THAT fan artist, who made art and posted it online, got a job offer from Dan Povenmire! And is now a Storyboard artist on the great Milo Murphy’s Law! It gives me great hope that maybe someday, Someone will notice my art. And it happened. I took a screenshot of the first time you ever liked one of my Daily Doodles! I was thrilled! I showed all my friends “Look,Look!! that’s the board artist on Murphy’s Law!!
Then Dan had tweeted that picture of The Fan Art Wall. And I SAW MY ART THERE!! I felt so important, that someone, somewhere in California (or where ever you are) was looking at my art!
Anyway, Long story short. You have been a big inspiration to me, and I hope that one day, I manage to get a job, doing what I love, and being found from my drawings.

Thank You for being my inspiration, and thanks for encouraging me to keep drawing!

Please help!! At least reblog please!!!

Hey ill make a more official post later but theyve been giving me less hours at work and i still havent gotten a second job and i cant afford my bills this month i dont expect anyone to donate but my paypals oliversrealjoy@gmail.com if you could and im lowering my commission prices so that a full body full color is only $15 and a full color bust is $5 and i can do pixel icons for $1 and bigger pixels for $5 and mlp/pokemon/animals for $5 you can go through my tagged/kanzens-art for my examples or my deviantart plutoshero.deviantart.com

please please please at least reblog this so more people can see. Im in the hospital rn so i cant make a new commissions sheet to post but i will as soon as i can!

Please stop and read this.

Never. Stop. Creating. Art.

I don’t care if you think its bad, or if you hate your art style… Or if you straight up think that your art will never become what you want it to be. If you stop now, all of that might just come true.

If you stop, you will never be able to see the improvement you would have made if you had just kept going.

YOU DO GET BETTER.

Even if it takes a while, and usually it will, you will improve and your art will change over time. It takes time to get better.

Here’s some I did a while back as examples:

An art piece that I submitted to DeviantArt on April 17, 2014. Two years and four months as of today (8.26.16). Lining isn’t terrible but it could be better, hardly any shading, and the colors don’t match the environment at all. Not to mention the use of the wood on the bottom…

This is the first art I posted on Tumblr one year later. My shading got better,  though the lining is still iffy… I decided to draw more people, and my anatomy is looking ok. Not perfect, but the positions don’t look uncomfortable.

This is my favorite one of this month, this year. My shading, anatomy, and lining have gotten much better, if not exceeded what I thought I could do. Not to mention I put more work and detail into it. (Including wrinkles, and actually drawing hands instead of just stuffing them into pockets)

You might not think it’s true, or it will never happen… Just trust me on this.

I want you to go find the oldest art you have, and compare it to your most recent drawing, whether it be a full piece, or just a couple of doodles. See what you’ve done. See how you and your style has changed and grown. Understand that things like this take time, and that you and your art will change.

Art is hard, and I get that. I understand that things can get complicated and frustrating. Take breaks when you need to, and come back only when you want to. Don’t push you yourself. If creating art becomes a chore to do, don’t work so hard on something that you can’t find fun in.

Here are some art fight things I did. For Samoose, yuusaku, and @brosbedope. Only one had a tumblr but I wanted to post these anyway. I may just post them as a dump on deviantart later when there are more.

2016/17 OP Big Bang FAQ and Schedule

Welcome to the 2016-17 One Piece Big Bang! To those of you who took part last year - welcome back! To those of you who are new, good luck and welcome to the fun.

The event will run similarly to last year’s. Please make sure you read this post through even if you participated last year, as it gives you the schedule of the event and might answer some questions you have.

So. What is a big bang!?
A Big Bang is a fandom event where writers work on a long piece fanfiction and artists collaborate with them to produce art based on that story.

How do I sign up? What accounts do I need?
Any account! Sign ups will be through google forms so you don’t need to have a tumblr or fanfiction or whatever. As long as you have one account somewhere that I can contact you (and hopefully where you will post!) and sign up with that name, that’s it really.

The form will be simple and ask questions like your user name and site for that name, your email (I will need this to be able to contact you with important event information), etc. Once I receive your sign up, I will send you a confirmation within 48hrs. If you do not receive this confirmation then please sign up again to be safe!

Okay so when can I sign up?
Sign ups will be open from the 5th October to the 30th November for writers, and from the 5th October to the 31st December for artists. Late entries need to be discussed with me, but within reason I let people join slightly out of the time set down.

What do I HAVE to create to take part?
There will be two tiers - a mini bang which will be for stories between 15,000 words and 24,000 words and a big bang that is 25,000 words or more. You do not have to decide right away which tier you will fall into (we all know stories grow!), but I’d like to know towards the end of the process so that posting isn’t too overwhelming.

Stories must be completed works and new works that can stand alone without needing another story to understand what’s going on. You’re welcome to write a sequel/prequel/companion story though as long as it is still understandable alone. When posting, works must be posted on at least one website as completed works.

For artists, you will have to create a minimum of one piece of art based on a fic of your choosing. Anonymous summaries will go up January time and you can choose the story you’d like to work on. Authors will be asked to provide a few paragraphs for the selection process so that artists can get a feel for the story.

Traditional art, digital art, fanvids, graphics and manips are all accepted as pieces of art. Other forms of art (for example fanmixes) may be used, but they count as accompanying pieces and not as full artwork.

What can I create for this Big Bang?
Anything, as long as it is related to One Piece. Any pairing/no pairing, genre, crossover, fusion, etc. is allowed as long as the focus is on One Piece and its characters. OCs are also allowed, again as long as One Piece characters are the main focus (OC/Charater pairings are completely fine!)

Can I write more than one story?
Yes, as long as they all follow the event’s rules. Artists are allowed to create art for more than one fic as well, though secondary clamings won’t open up until every artist has received a fic.

Can I sign up as an artist and a writer?
Of course! Just keep in mind the deadlines and be aware that it might be a lot of work for you.

I already have an artist/writer who wants to work with me - can I still sign up?
Yes! In the sign up form, it will ask if you already have a partner for this event and you’re more than welcome to have already chosen someone. Both parties will still need to sign up, though you won’t go through the matching process like the others.

Where will works be posted?
That is entirely up to you. You can host your works on lj, deviantart, dw, tumblr, fanfiction.net, AO3 or any other platform you wish. A masterpost will be posted on both the livejournal and tumblr for this event so that everyone can be linked to your works.

Can I post snippets of my work before the posting date?
I’m afraid not. You can share your work with your partner and you’ll need to send your work to the mod for later check ins, but please refrain from posting WIPs or snippets otherwise.

What happens if I need to drop out?
Please inform the mod asap. No one wants anyone to drop out, but sometimes it does happen and we all need to know asap!

What is the schedule?
Please be aware that the schedule does change sometimes so this is a rough guide more than set in stone.

Another Wonky Tutorial by Ron: Comic Paneling... Or How I Learned to Love the Thumbnail.

Okay, so cheesy title aside, I’m farrrrrrr from an expert on how to do this. But since you asked, here’s an insight on how I do paneling.

Bit of a lengthy post ahead, so putting a break here so’s not to clutter your blogs.XD I mean, pfft, like I said, I’m no expert.

All Caught Up

WHEW

I am finally caught up in my artworks and art-dumpage :D

Now with those out of the way, I will be going back to uploading my arts as I go along finishing them (Like I have been for Deviantart, Facebook, etc)

So expect some more art soon!

Even moreso, since today is Friday and I have been doing all-nighter streams on Fridays :D I’m super excited!

I will make a post later on about the status of the stream, the whens, wheres, etc~

thearkatek  asked:

What is/was project cloverkit?

Project Cloverkit was a well-intentioned project to help support the growth of young and new artists.

The whole project was basically a retaliation against a hate blog making negative commentary towards a Warrior Cats OC (named Cloverkit) created by a young artist on deviantART. People drew fan art of Cloverkit, posting it to deviantART and Tumblr and linking it to the creator with kind words to show their appreciation and support.

It was initially a great idea. Almost everyone was totally for it. But it got out of hand a little too fast. Fanart of Cloverkit started sprouting everywhere and a couple people even warned that this could go wrong if we were not careful. And what do you know, that’s exactly what happened. Everyone who participated was pretty much blinded by good intentions and no one waited to hear what the creator of Cloverkit had to say about this project.

People have commented on the artist’s dA like mad in attempt to share their fan art of Cloverkit, and a couple haters even found their way to the comments basically bashing the artist because of all the attention they were receiving.

Just today, I think, the artist finally came online and told everyone exactly how overwhelmed they were by all of the sudden attention. They posted a journal on deviantART explaining that they didn’t need so much fanart of Cloverkit and, later, deactivated their account.

People are still posting their drawings of Cloverkit, completely unaware of the damage they’re doing, so people are now trying to spread the word about how Project Cloverkit is no longer a go. Other people are suggesting we don’t end this project completely, but merely change the name of it and rather draw our own OCs.

Personally, I like clancats idea of renewing #ProjectCloverkit to be #ProjectOCPride. In their words,

“Instead of drawing Cloverkit, draw the OCs that you created when you were younger! Take an old OC that you later changed and bring them back to their original look… If you once had a green fox but later made him brown, take that fox back to his neon green roots and [draw] him as you would any of your current designs.”

I think this is a far more preferable way to show appreciation towards young artists - by showing them that you were once a young artist too! I’ve actually thought about participating in this version of the project myself, because it doesn’t risk hurting anyone and the only person you are exposing artistically is yourself.

With that said, for those of you who still want to participate in supporting young artists, try posting old sketches of your own OCs along with improved versions of them to show your artistic progress over the years. Share your story and your own artistic journeys to support those who are just beginning now.

One last note that I think needs to be addressed: Some people are suggesting that you find different young artists and draw their OCs for them. Do not do that unless you have their permission. Not everyone is going to be okay with you drawing their OC, and you have no way of telling who is and who isn’t okay with it unless you ask them first. We don’t need to repeat what just happened with Cloverkit.

Thanks for the ask, Julian. I think that should answer your question. :P

Man, I remember during high school I spent so much time complaining about deviantart content, how so many people were making super beginner ms paint drawings of poorly anime eyed zim characters and what not. I wasted so much time fuming about that junk, and it’s so embarrassing to think back on, because really, I’m glad there’s a space like deviantArt and tumblr for amateur and beginning artists to post their material.
In this day and age where everything online is so connected and viral, there’s fewer and fewer spaces available for people to just be NEW at something. People need a place where they can be bad, make mistakes, grow as an artist and then years later look back and go “yeesh, glad no one saw that.”
Because lord knows, in the ten years I’ve been on the internet posting drawings and whatnot, I would have never survived the kind of scorn and mockery some of the “anti-bad art” trolls I was admiring were dealing out. I’m so glad I was never discouraged enough to the point of being afraid to post drawings online, and it honestly breaks my heart to think of how many young kids have been shooed offline by older people mocking and insulting them relentlessly.

I’m glad I outgrew that immature mindset. I may toss around lots of complaints now and then about my time in college, but these last few years really have been super beneficial for me with regards to maturing towards being more of a decent human being.

Post your creations. Make connections with people. Find positive communities. Don’t be afraid of screwing up, because you WILL screw up. It’s how you learn to adapt from your mistakes that helps you get better.

HOO BOY HERE WE GO. Once more tumblr kills the size of this, open it in a new tab to see it better.

So the reason for my art delay is, well, I’m sewing again! I’m working on my second cosplay for Sakuracon 2k17, and this time it’s of my favorite SF character! (yes i get started stupid early, I hate getting behind…> >) Even if in game, his model isn’t the best, I still think SFV Ken has a cute design, and I’m sure I’m not alone in that thought so I thought I’d make some tutorials through my endeavors so others can maybe have some help! Cosplay is tough, and I’ve known the pain of not being able to find good references or have enough money to buy legit pieces so I hope this helps some of you! If you have questions or if I was unclear, feel free to ask me! I’ll try to help as best as I can!
I WILL NOT have a regular upload of these, BUT if you wanna see them all in one place, on my main blog page under links I’ll have them all organized as I release them for viewing convenience, and I’ll TRY to update the original post with links as I go!

PART TWO HERE~!

PLEASE do not repost, alter, or redistribute without my permission or remove the artist’s comments! I will probably put this on my deviantart/art blog later!

Hey, I'm asking this because I have an art blog that no one knows of. I want get some popularity, but I don't think what I'm doing is working. Any tips? ~K Anon

Well you have to get into a Fandom, usually ones you like. See i picked youtubers, now fanart gets way more attention then original art especially if your just starting out. Other then that do what you like, try posting your art in other places too like deviantart, instagram or twitter. The more media you use, the more eyes will be on your art. Try taking requests, get in tune with your audience cause they are the ones supporting you. Other then that draw what you like and always try new things, you have to be happy with what your drawing so never force yourself to do something you don’t wanna draw. Cause you’ll be miserable. You can start off with fanart and slowly go into more original stuff later like ocs. Stay true to yourself and have fun with your art, you think of a crazy idea to draw for your Fandom, draw it other people will find it creative. Also if you ever get stuck while drawing try listening to new music, go outside, take a break or just doodle. Also comics get a lot of attention here so maybe do those. So all in all stay true to yourself, because yourself as a creature don’t let things hold you down and have fun ^^

I’ve been burnt out from making ponies back to back. And I needed a break before I lost my mind~ (n* > o<)n ~#%*$

But in all seriousness, I am burnt out from making ponies, and I still need to finish up commissions and trades. Whenever I get burnt out, i tend to half-ass stuff and get frustrated with myself, and I don’t like doing that. :c I expect a lot more from myself, and if it interferes with my work in a negative way, I seriously need to just step back and take a break. > n<

So I did take a break, and ended up testing out a pattern that I’ve been meaning to get out. It’s everyone’s favorite gooey dragon, Goodra! :D

She’s actually a tiny little thing! As a prototype, I made her 7 inches tall, from the bottom of her cute chubby feet to the top of her adorable head! <3 She’s 8 if you wanna include her antenna. :) Her spots are appliqued on. Her eyes are, of course, machine embroidered.

I love her to bits! <3 (\ O u O)/) Now the question is: will I take commissions for Goodras? Possibly, if you ask nicely. :3c Only thing is I’m not sure what I’m going to price these guys at, but I do plan on making them bigger by request! :D So if you’re interested, just get in touch with me over on deviantArt. o/ I’ll probably be posting a little more information over there anyways.

I’m also hoping to open commissions for other plushies that aren’t ponies soon~ I think it’s about time that I expanded my horizons~

I should be posting some WIPs later tonight, so i can get some of these ponies moving since I do feel better and a little less burnt out. <3

I posted this up a while ago in my scraps on Deviantart, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to throw this up here as well. c:

So this is just a quick sneak peek of the 5x7 prints I’ll be selling at Bronycon. C: I’ll probably end up deleting this post later on, but for now I suppose it’s fine.

There were going to be more characters (such as Celestia and Luna), but after I reached 15 I figured that that would be more than enough for my first con. o3o The prints came out really good too! I’m so excited! xD

Anyway, each of these characters will be available on sale at Bronycon, so if you’re going and you’re interested, feel free to stop by my booth! If you’re interested but aren’t going to Bronycon, you can still get the current deal, however you’ll have to pay for shipping I’m afraid. O:

I’ve decided that the given deal will last only two days after Bronycon. After that, you guys will still be able to buy prints if you’d like, but they will all be $8 a piece.

But yeah. That’s all for this image. That all said, I simply can’t wait for Bronycon to arrive! I’m about as excited as I am nervous; I hope I do good! D:
