Summary: You finally decide to tell Bucky that you’ve been in love with him since the day you met but what happens when you walk in on him with a girl? And not just any girl; Natasha.
Pairing: Bucky x Reader
Warnings: I said it once and I’ll say it again, angst
A/N: I’m so glad you guys are liking this so far :)
You shower and get dressed, wearing a simple t-shirt and jeans before making your way over to Bucky’s room. Not knocking, you open the door and see Bucky and Nat lip-locked.
“Oh god..” you mutter, looking away. “Lock the door next time.”
You hear Nat giggle. “Sorry snooka.”
“You know, I’m just gonna go back to my room and watch movies. Maybe invite Steve or Tony. They like watching movies with me.” you say. “You two go back to what you were doing.”
It hurt like hell. Everything hurt.
“No! No, let’s go.” Bucky exclaimed.
“I’m not gonna sulk in my room okay?”
“We’re going out. C’mon.” you can hear Bucky stand up from his bed.
“No Bucky, you stay here. I’ll get Tony to take me. Or maybe Steve, he likes animals too.” you think it over while peering out into the hallway.
“No!” he says quickly before clearing his throat. “I mean no, I’m the one who suggested it so I’m taking you.”
“Nuh uh, come on. Take that cute butt to the elevator.” he says and you can hear his keys jingling as he picks them up.
“It is cute, isn’t it?” Nat says and you bite the inside of your cheek.
It’s like you wanted to hate her but you couldn’t. You wanted to hate her for being with Bucky, for being with the man that you’ve been in love with for years now. But you couldn’t. You really couldn’t. Bucky deserved to be happy. After everything he’s been through, he needs it.
“If anyone asks, we’re at the zoo.” Bucky says as he wraps an arm around your shoulders. His signature move when it comes to you.
“So.. You and Nat, huh?” you spoke while passing the lions.
“Yeah.” he chuckled, running his fingers though his hair.
“Are you guys dating? Like is it official?” you question. Stop asking questions you’re just hurting yourself even more.
“Uh.. It’s complicated I guess? We’ve never really talked about it. We like each others company and all but I haven’t asked her to be my girlfriend yet.”
Yet. He fucking said yet. Does that mean you still have a chance? Or is he planning on asking her to be his girlfriend soon?
“Oh.” you nod.
“Yeah. We’re just seeing where this goes for now.” Bucky shrugged, stuffing his hands into his pockets.
You’ll never have a chance with him. Not next to Natasha. Any sane person would choose Nat over you.
“So what’s the deal with this guy you like? How come you’ve never told me about him?” he changes the subject quickly.
“I didn’t know that I needed to fill you in on the guys that I’m interested in, James.” you respond as the two of you stop by the elephants.
He scoffed. “Well it would be nice to know who my best friend is into, Y/N.”
Best friend. Great. Friend zoned.
Who even came up with the friend zone? All you knew is you wanted to stab the friend zone 56 times and ship it somewhere far far away so that you’d never see it again. Hopefully it’d get lost at sea.
“You didn’t even tell me that you and Nat were a thing so you have no reason to come at me.” you say, keeping your eyes on the mother elephant who was washing her baby.
“We didn’t want anyone to know.” he sighed.
“Well I didn’t want anyone to know either.” you shrug.
“That’s because she’s a nosey little shit.”
“She’s also a nosey little shit.”
“I just - Why couldn’t you tell me?” you can feel him looking at you.
Because it’s you! The guy I like is you!
“Why couldn’t you tell me about you and Nat?” bitterness laced your voice and Bucky scoffed.
“You’re really gonna bring that up again?”
“Why is it so important that you need to know who I like?”
“Because we’re best friends and as best friends we tell each other who we like.”
Your eyes start to water. “Yeah, best friends.” you look away from Bucky and sigh loudly.
“Baby doll..” he murmured, placing a hand on your shoulder.
At the contact, you shrug him off. “I need to go to the bathroom.”
Not even bothering for a response, you start walking towards the bathrooms with Bucky hot on your heels. He tries talking to you, tries grabbing your hand to pull you back but you speed up until you were inside the girls bathroom. You lock yourself in the stall farthest from the door and back up into the wall, covering your mouth as your tears fall from your face.
It sucks knowing that Bucky likes someone else; someone way better than you in every way. How are you supposed to compete with Nat? That’s a game you know you’ll lose. You just wished he felt the same way about you - even just a little bit.
“Y/N? Are you okay?” Bucky’s voice echoed throughout the bathroom. You pause, watching as Bucky’s shoes come into view from underneath the stall door. He was inside the girls bathroom.
“Yeah I’m fine, just needed to pee really badly.” you respond, flushing the toilet. You open the door and once Bucky takes a look at you, he brings you into his arms.
“You’re crying.” he frowns.
“It was a really intense and emotional pee.” you mumble into his chest.
Bucky laughs at your response and you can feel his chest vibrate as he does so. Why couldn’t Bucky like you? What did Nat have that you didn’t?
Everything. She has everything and you have nothing.
“Come on, let’s go get some food. I’m starving.” he says, breaking the silence that fell upon the two of you.
“Okay.” you nod, the two of you pulling away from the hug. Bucky examines your face before wiping away your leftover tears. After this day, you have to start distancing yourself. It’s the only way to get over him and save your already broken heart from becoming even more broken every time you see Bucky and Nat.
Bucky pulls you to him and kisses your temple as you both walk out of the restroom. “How does Olive Garden sound?”
You lay your head on his shoulder and sigh. “It sounds perfect.”

You were secretly hanging out by the bleachers watching as your girlfriend, Cheryl Blossom, practiced her cheerleading with the River Vixens. You always admired the way she put so much passion into it, and her confidence in leading the other girls. You were going to surprise her after practice since you know she’s been super busy and stressed out with everything that’s going on. You guys hadn’t spent much time together that week, so, since it was Friday, you planned a cute movie marathon date at your place after school.
Cheryl caught your eye as she spotted you admiring her from afar and shot you a smirk, but, her smirk slowly faded away into something you couldn’t quite read as she stared at something beside you. You turn your head to see your friends approaching you, and lightly smile at them, but at the same time feeling bad for Cheryl as she’s expressed to you in the past of how she’s insecure of the way your friends don’t particularly like the concept of you two together.
“So (Y/N),” Ronnie starts, “what could you possibly be doing here?” She teases. You smile and give your friend a light shove. Veronica was the only one in the group that somewhat approved of your relationship with Cheryl and she loved to tease you about it. “Seriously what ARE you doing here?” Jughead complained in his usual tone as he dramatically rolled his eyes. “Waiting for Cheryl.” You snapped back with a smile. “We’re gonna go to my place and watch movies once she’s finished practice.” You said matter of factly. “I thought we were all supposed to be going to Pop’s tonight?” Betty groaned. Shit. You completely forgot about that. “Sorry guys, I can’t today. I’ve been meaning to spend time with Cheryl.” You apologised. “Ditching us for her?” Archie teased. “I still don’t see what you see in her, (Y/N). She’s the queen bitch of riverdale, with a stone cold heart.” Kevin hissed, sounding more rude than he intended.
You looked at your friends in complete shock. What was their problem with yours and Cheryl’s relationship? Why couldn’t they just support you? You were so angry at this point, ready to lay into Kevin for insulting your girlfriend, that you didn’t notice Cheryl watching from a few feet away.
“I can’t believe you guys!” you started, “You’re supposed to be my friends? all you’ve done since I told you about our relationship is hate on it! Can’t you take into consideration that Cheryl is going through a lot? Try to remember that she’s burying her brother. She’s a person too, you know. She has feelings, more than you guys know. If you took the time to know her, you’d see how sweet and beautiful she really is.” You let out all these built up feelings and it came out in a frustrated rush of emotion.
Your friends stared back at you, speechless. “(Y/N), I’m sorry. We had no idea we were making you feel this way, honestly. We really weren’t being serious.” Kevin spoke up. The rest of the group agreed. “Of course we support you, (Y/N). We know how happy Cheryl makes you!” Betty added. “You know what? Let’s invite her over with us to Pop’s next time.” Archie purposed. “You’re right, we should get to know her better.” Jughead said.
You smiled at your friends, happy that they understood how you felt now and were willing to accept Cheryl. “Thanks guys.” You simply said and Veronica nudged you, “Speak of the devil” She playfully said as she pointed at Cheryl approaching. You turned your head to face Cheryl and the rest of the group left so you could have privacy.
“Cheryl..” You started. “I heard all of it.” She cut you off and embraced you in a tight hug. “Thank you.” She sweetly whispered in your ear. You pulled back and looked at her. “Anytime.” You softly said. “I’m so lucky and thankful to have you, (Y/N). God knows what I’d do without you.” She smiled weakly as she stroked your cheek. “Well I’m here forever, there’s no getting rid of me now.” You joked and Cheryl chuckled. “I love you.”… “I love you too.” And with that, you were off to spend the rest of the evening cuddling and watching movies together at your place.
Okay so, I know that in the new Archie comics, Jughead is asexual. I completely respect that and good for the writers to be writing something new and with the time of the new generation. But, because nothing of those sorts have been confirmed or mentioned on the show, I am going to write imagines and drabbles for him romantically. If this upsets you then I’m sorry and you can read some of my other work. I am purely writing the Riverdale TV series version of Jughead, as i intend to do with the rest of my Riverdale work on here. So. with that note out of the way, please enjoy this little thing I did last night :)

“Juggie please stop typing up your novel for like 10 minutes and do something with me.” I pouted to my best friend. We were sitting at a booth in Pop’s diner and I wanted to do something with jughead. Like watch a movie or just talk.
“Like what.” He grumbled. I rested my head on his shoulder.
“I really want to go back to my house and watch old movies to make fun of them.” I bribed. This is one of jughead’s favorite activities. He stopped typing for a minute to think about it but then when back to typing almost immediately.
“Jughead! Seriously all you ever do now is write your damn novel. I’m going to go hang out with Archie.” You grumbled super pissed off at jughead right now. He nodded towards you as you got up. You scoffed and went to go sit with Archie at the booth on the other side of of him. You sighed and took a sip of his chocolate shake.
“Arch what I’m I suppose to do about Jughead! He never pays attention to me ever. All he cares about is his dumb novel!”
“Maybe he focuses on his novel to distract himself from you? You know he really likes you right? Maybe he thinks that you don’t like him.” Archie explained as he took a sip of his drink. You looked at him.
“Jughead likes me? What?! I didn’t know this!” Archie rolled his eyes.
“Yes he does. He has since like the 3rd grade! So back over there and talk to him. It will do us all a favor.” He chuckles. I rolled my eyes and walked to to Jughead’s table.
“Jughead?” I whispered
I took a deep breath.
“I like you too you know.” I said slowly and carefully. Jughead stopped typing all together and looked at me.
“What?” He asked. I grabbed his band from across the table.
“Jughead I like you. I’ve liked you since the first day we met in the 3rd grade!” You grinned. He smiled back at you.
“Really? Me too. I just didn’t think you did and I’m sorry for being such an ass lately. I want trying to get over you.” He explained sheepishly. I smiled.
“It’s okay Juggie.” I leaned across the table and placed a kiss on his cheek.
Xanxus, Dino, and Tsuna reacting to someone flirting with the friend they’re in love with
You had just gotten back from a mission and had popped by the Varia castle to visit your friend Xanxus there. You didn’t know how you two had even become friends, honestly, it had just kind of happened. You’d met him while doing something for the Vongola, and you had just got along really well. And of course, the first thing you had wanted to do after just getting back home from a job three countries away was talk about it to the friend you hadn’t seen in forever.
Xanxus never really seemed like he was particularly listening, lounging in his chair drinking wine, occasionally humming in agreement to something or other, but you knew him well enough by now to know that he actually was. You knew in the way his eyes were always on you when you were speaking, the way he never cut you off mid sentence, and you knew in the way he would bring up stuff you’d said at times like this in future conversations.
You stopped suddenly when a guy came in through the door you’d accidentally left open, just a random person who tended the castle, reporting about damages on the second floor that would need to be fixed. Xanxus didn’t look like he cared in the slightest, giving him nothing but a simple, “Is that so?”
It was clear that whatever those damages were, it wasn’t Xanxus’ problem and just get it done and fixed on your own. The guy gave a short bow, and instead of moving to immediately leave he smiled broadly at you and said, “You always make this place so much brighter, _____, it’s good to see you again after so long. How was that mission?”
You smiled back and began to give him a quick rundown of the highlights. Unlike Xanxus, he was very talkative, laughing a lot and responding often, taking as many moments as he could to throw in little compliments. So you weren’t really surprised when he finally got around to asking you to dinner this weekend. You hadn’t decided yet if you were going to say yes or not, cause even though you didn’t have any strong romantic feelings towards him, it might be fun, yeah?
But you didn’t get the chance to respond. A gunshot rang out, and you had been standing so close to the guy that you swore you had felt the wind on that bullet. He was holding his arm and hissing in pain at where the shot had grazes him, and Xanxus growled, “The next shot won’t miss, so get the fuck out.”
Didn’t need to be asked twice, he was out in less than a second. You turned in confusion to ask what that was all about to find Xanxus already looming over you, and he pushed you back, caging you against the wall. There was a fire in his eyes as he leaned in, so close you could feel his breath against your lips. “You shouldn’t be looking at anyone but me, cause you’re fucking mine, got it?”
You weren’t used to going to clubs, but tonight you decided, why not? It was your friend’s birthday and she loved going to them. It was only coincidence that you ran into Dino, another good friend of yours, there. To be honest, you were happy for it, because your other friend was already getting a little tipsy and she looked like she was getting ready to run off with a guy she’d met there. So when she came up to you and told you that she was running off you just smiled and wished her a good time.
You two were at the bar, and when you called for another drink the bartender stuck around, chatting amicably with you. You were lots of smiles and laughs, already a little tipsy yourself, but nothing too extreme. He was being a bit too friendly, but you didn’t mind, and you found yourself hoping he was going to ask you out or something. When it looked like he was finally about to someone called for him to make them something, and he smiled apologetically at you before moving to get it.
That was when Dino turned to you, a look on his face you couldn’t quite place, and told you he was going to be heading home, and wondered if you wanted a ride. And though you were disappointed, kind of wanted to refuse, your friend had been your ride here, so you accepted. Walking home this late was not recommended.
“______?” He said suddenly as he was driving, looking over at you when you were stopped at a light.
“Hmm?” you asked.
“You deserve better than him, don’t you think? Are you free tomorrow?”
Tsuna was busy most of all of the time, so you were pretty surprised when he agreed to come with you on your trip to pick some things up. You had to go get a video game you’d preordered that had come out today, and then you were planning on sitting down at a cafe for lunch before stopping by your friend’s to pick up a jacket you’d left there.
You were a regular at the cafe, so you knew the guy working behind the counter pretty well by now. He took your order and then you two started catching up on each other’s weeks, since you hadn’t seen him since last Monday. Tsuna suddenly cut in, not letting him finish what he had been saying. “I didn’t know you and _____ were so well acquainted.” Looking up you could see Tsuna was smiling at the poor guy, but not a nice smile, nope. A smile that said very clearly that you better step off or you’re in trouble
The guy seemed uncomfortable as he replied that you were just a regular, and Tsuna cut him off. “I didn’t know you liked this place so much,” he said, looking down at you as he continued, “You’ve never brought me here before.”
“You were always busy,” you replied, wondering what in the world was up with him. “I don’t get to see you very often to begin with, you know.”
Tsuna didn’t respond, though the look in his eyes as he looked at you sent shivers down your spine. He didn’t wait for your coffee to be ready, dragging you out of the cafe and down the street. He took you to a little park, pulling you into the shadow of a large tree and kissing you hard and without warning.
He pulled away just as quickly, leaning so he could whisper into your ear, “Why don’t we get better acquainted, _____. Dinner? Or maybe we could go back to my place and watch a movie.”
