They were considered the source of the knowledge embodied in the poetry, lyric songs, and myths that were related orally for centuries in these ancient cultures. Moana Inspired Prompts!

Because Mod Karissa saw it in the past week and can’t sleep at the moment! omg it was so amazing it’s literally tied with my ALLTIME favourite disney movie and then lin-manuel miranda just ahhhhhhh

(please keep in mind that these are inspired by the movie so they don’t necessarily fall within the cultural lines that the movie uses)

  • I’m a god/goddess and you (a demigod) keep stealing my stuff for the humans to use stOP THAT

  • I’m a god/goddess and my stuff was stolen and while you technically can’t interfere with people to get it back, you chose a champion to get it back for me

  • I’m next in line as chief but really, can’t we just give it to my younger sibling? They want it more anyways hey friend help me look like a bad chief but not too bad

  • I’m a demigod and I keep stealing your stuff and giving it to humans but I really just keep using it as an excuse to see you; you never noticed me otherwise

  • mermaid/man wanting to visit the land and person wanting to see the water and just. breaking rules to talk to each other and talk about the different cultures

  • explorer coming to an isolated island and the person wanting to travel being completely enamored with them

  • I wanted to travel on the sea so bad but i’m drowning in a bad storm and now you, the god/goddess of the sea takes pity on me and rescues me personally

I love this champ, she’s so strong and selfless; a real inspiration to so many women across the globe, and I want her to know that.
Amber Liu needs more appreciation enough said.♡♡♡

Living by the Moon

The Moon.

Even if you don’t believe in astrology, you cannot deny the powerful effect the Moon has;
upon our tides, upon nature and upon the Human mind.
For She lights up the night, so we in the dark may see.

As of my writing this, a New Moon has just occurred in the sign of the scales, Libra ♎︎
A New Moon marks the beginning of the lunar month, a cycle that lasts for between 29 and 30 days.

In my experience it is very beneficial to live by the rhythm of the Moon. This way we can work on our creating our future, the way we would like it to be, one month at a time. But how?

Whilst the moon is lightless, crossing in front of the sun, set your goal, what do you want to have achieved in 30 days time?

Perhaps set one big goal, and several smaller ones, which may or may not be directly supporting the larger goal - just ensure you avoid spreading yourself too thin. The New Moon is the perfect time to decide to try something new for a month.

Now one day at a time, with your goals in mind, work towards making them a reality. Avoid expecting too much at once, and take each day as it comes!

As this is the brightest the moon is during her cycle it is possible that one’s intentions can manifest at this time of the month, but in any case it is a point to recognise how far you have come over the last two weeks - if you have been working steadily towards your targets you will definitely notice your improvements since you began. This may also be the time in which you realise your vision, and see the potential final form your project might take! It’s a time to celebrate!

As the Moon’s light begins to turn away from the earth, one’s focus shifts from building up towards the goal to maintaining the infrastructure they have already implemented. This is the time to make tweaks and ensure that the details are indeed all in place and as they should be; perform any trimming and pruning as you see fit to ensure your project’s longevity.

Once the waning crescent disappears from the night sky, vanishing into the rays of dawn, we reach the end of our cycle. At this time we must review the past month, how did we perform, what was successful, where could we have improved?
Through this process of review we can identify what held us back, and make the conscious decision to let it go, to banish it from us, so that we may enter the next cycle without baggage and doubt; cleansed and ready to take on the next month!

You may find it particularly beneficial to choose a project that is associated with the the sign of the New Moon, this month is ♎︎ Libra so subjects related to art, law, relationships and balance will naturally take focus in some way for the month. The next Full Moon will be in ♉︎ Taurus which is associated with ART, BEAUTY & NATURE ~ it really is the perfect time for Deviants to try out experimenting with a new medium, technique or subject for the month and really make use of the chance to kickstart some growth in your art form!

All the best & enjoy working by the Moon’s Light.

Hello :) any ideas about a boy meeting the Olympian gods on earth, most of which don't really like him? (sry for my terrible grammar)

Hey! Really sorry about the wait. This was the answer that got deleted, so I was ticked off. Anyway, here’s some prompts:

● Demeter is the only one to like the boy because he reminds her of Peresphone.

● “Can I be a demi-god?”

“But you’re Zeus. You can make me one.”

“Not gonna happen.”

“How about like King Midas? But with chocolate.”

“Midas died of starvation.”

“But I wouldn’t because I can eat the chocolate.”

“I’m glad Athena wasn’t born as a child. If she was like you, I’d sincerely regret cheating on Hera.”

● “Can we send him to the underwold?”

“Hades doesn’t deserve a boy as irritating as this one.”

● Hestia defends the boy because she’s a mother-type figure. This leads to an argument that Hestia can’t make decisions becuase she gave up her position as one of the 12 Olympians.

● “He’s a child meeting Olympic gods. Of course he has questions.”

“Yes, wise and rational Athena. I get it, but I’d happily smite him to get him to shut up.”

“You’d have to get through me first, Ares.”

“Sister, that’s a battle I’ve been dying to have.”

“Yeah, because you think the violent side of war can beat the strategic side. Now, I know why I’m the goddess of reason.”

● “Wait, so you and Hera are siblings. . but you’re married. . .”

“Listen kid, not alot of people existed back then, and gods aren’t like humans. I’m not having a discussion with you about this.”

● “Honestly though Zeus, I feel like Hera is only still married to you so she can be queen of the heavens. You’ve cheated on her so many times, I can’t think of any other reason.”

“… I agree with him.”

“Hera, you’re my wife. You’re supposed to be supporting me.”

● “Hephaestus, can you build something to make this boy more tolerable?”

“Honestly Aphrodite, after the golden net business, I’m not interested on making anything that involves you in any way, shape, or form.”

● “I just came up with what should have been Hercules’s thirteenth labor: dealing with this kid.”

● The boy repeatedly asks the gods and godesses about the myths he knows about them, and they are all mildly offended at the inaccuracies.

● “At the Judgement of Paris, I think you rightfully got the golden apple, Aphrodite.”

“Obviously, kid, I’m the goddess of beauty. But that led to Trojan War, so I’d prefer I lost.”

“It was a question of who was the ‘fairest’. That doesn’t just mean beauty.”

“You’re right Athena, maybe you did have a chance. But, despite being very intelligent, Hermes liked my gift the best. Maybe you’ve got a competitor in the smarts area…”

“Hey, what about me!? I was assembled to compete for the apple too.”

“Hera, there was no way you could win.”

“I really think-”

“No, but I-”

“You shut you-”

“Godesses! This is like Eris all over again, except the kid is the causer of discord.”

I hope that helped!
