[VERSE 1: LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA] I’m full of surprises, it might take a minute to digest I’m gunnin’ for Pulitzer prizes. Ah, it’s a bit of a process But I got a Grammy, got a Tony, got a Emmy Goddamnit, homie, somebody show me the way to the Oscars

You hear the thunder rumblin’ something’s coming Shatter y’all, hurricanes on wood frame houses The name’s Renée, you’ll never be the same BLAO. Game: blouses
[VERSE 3: DAVEED DIGGS] Diminishing returns make the burners come out, start to wave Question me if you wanna, y’all, I was up on the stage Playing a polyglot glutton, suckin’ a molly popsicle So sick of the club I just turn up at the hospital Ordering orderlies to turn the heat up four degrees So I can take my shirt off and live out my California dreams Scribble “Thug Life” in invisible ink An umbilical minor chord-clipping metaphysical link To the pastime high, wrecks, last time I checked There was hella rappers in line for the time to scream “I’m next” I just walked right in the door marked “Hamilton Stage,” stayed patient Playing these dead presidents I’m getting my reparations
I was rewatching the bit Gotham put out before the latest episode. Well,
When Babs is talking to Ed he says “that’s because you don’t see the full picture.”
And does his little box thing in the air.
HE DIDN’T COMPLETE THE BOX
HE DIDN’T GET THE FULL PICTURE EITHER
If I can find a gif for this scene, you can see he only does 3 sides of the box.
Eddie… My son.. You aren’t getting the full picture either.
You know since you’re so oblivious to the fact that OSWALD LOVES YOU.
I know this is late but I only just rewatched it again and I felt it was necessary to point this out.
Whenever I watch the first episode of Hannibal, I’m always shocked by how it contains the only time we saw Hannibal in a moment of completely vulnerability: sleeping in a public space and in the presence of Will. I tried for such a long time to figure out why Bryan Fuller made that decision, but I think I finally understand that it has to do with trust. In that moment, Will (and by proxy the audience) trusted Hannibal our final image of him in that introductory episode was that of defenselessness. While Hannibal is anything but defenseless, for at least 15 seconds, he is stripped of everything that makes him Hannibal and is reduced to but a concerned person, sleeping next to the hospital bed of an adopted ward. From the onset of the show, we would always have this impression of Hannibal as a human. Even with all his twisted machinations, Hannibal was capable of caring, and that was a terrifying, brilliant, and insightful thing for Fuller to show us.
- Episode 18 Joshimatsus. Karako stands up in shock when Osoko tells her she bought two unlucky gifts and a theme starts playing. Karako equivalent of Karamatsu’s theme?????? PleASE????
I went back and listened to the previous two Joshi sketches to confirm and while there’s not quite a theme that kicks in when Karako in particular is talking/on-screen, there is a theme there. Here’s hoping!!
- Okay, you know what, damn Episode 18 to hell. I worry about Karamatsu and Ichimatsu on a daily basis because of how they feel and are treated and now I have to worry about them ALL because they’re ALL dying inside. EVERY SINGLE ONE.
When were we ever led to believe that Choro felt unaccepted? Or that Totty felt unnoticed? They really feel like that? Everybody knew damn well how much Kara suffers every week, we all had a pretty good idea about how Ichi REALLY felt under the surface, but now Oso is starting to feel like his brothers are the only collective force keeping him on anyone’s mind because he himself is NOT WELL LIKED AT ALL and it’s breaking his heart. It’s making him fight to the very end of the world, literally, to stay the protagonist of his own show because if he isn’t the protagonist no one is going to look twice at him. W h a t t h e h e l l.
To hell with this, to hell with the popularity polls and character support blogs. MATSUNO DEFENCE SQUAD GO!
protip : if you create a narrative about gay people being thrown under the bus by a rich old straight white homophobic guy
and a) all the gay characters in that narrative are flat stereotypes (including over-the-top drag queens and ‘deceptive’ trans* women); b) the ONLY consistent gay/queer character in your show is also a flat stereotype who is wacky, super-effeminate^ and mildly predatory AND C) YOU FOCUS THAT NARRATIVE EXCLUSIVELY ON THE RICH OLD STRAIGHT WHITE HOMOPHOBIC GUY
YOU HAVE OFFICIALLY JUST THROWN GAY PEOPLE UNDER THE BUS FOR THE SAKE OF YET ANOTHER STORY ABOUT YET ANOTHER WORTHLESS ASSHOLE STRAIGHT PERSON
GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER
^note: i do not mean to say that gay men, on or off TV, shouldn’t be super-effeminate; it’s just always worthwhile to point out that such a high percentage of gay male characters in the media are written this way, because it helps demonstrate how there’s such a limited representation of gay people with their own fucking different and interesting personalities, and how gayness and femininity are both still mocked all the time even when people are trying get progessiveness cookies by having gay characters
im so so so sick of people always saying how riley is probably going to end up depressed. like have you ever considered maya? nobody cares how she feels, people don’t expect her to know things, and everyone just favors riley over her. it’s not that i don’t like riley. it’s just i hate it when people act like riley is the most fragile thing in the world when maya is also there, hurting but pretends to be strong because people only care about her best friend.
