Newsies Headcanon

Oh yes the Newsies went all out for the 4th of July.

Crutchie would do everyone’s red white and blue face paint.

Jack would be shirtless wearing an American flag around his neck all day.

Davey would be the mom friend with the America puns on his apron.

Davey also makes the best hamburgers.

Katherine would roast everyone with her extensive knowledge of history.

Race would be the one smuggling illegal fireworks in.

Spot and the rest of the Brooklyn newsies would bring the /rest/ of the illegal fireworks.

Les would be wearing everything red white and blue all the way down to his underwear.

Specs would be the ONE person not wearing any red white and blue.

Albert would be the one organizing all the cheesy games.

JoJo randomly starts singing the national anthem like every 5 minutes.

Basically our Newsies love the 4th of July not only because they love their country, but because with out the rights of the nation, the Strike would have gone in a very different nation. And their freedom of press and speech would have burned into flames like so many other countries around the world. Our boys sure do love the USA.

Happy 4th of July!

Take a second to put down your phone, turn away from your computers. Say a prayer for the families of those who are mourning their lost soldiers this Memorial Day. God bless you and your ultimate sacrifice.

Some 4th of July Reminders
  • Be mindful of veterans who may suffer from PTSD. In my experience, many tend to post a sign of some sorts in their yards, so keep an eye out for those.
  • Keep an eye on your pets.
  • Drink responsibly and ask someone to volunteer as a designated driver.
  • If you plan to shoot off fireworks yourself, do not trespass on farm and ranch land. Depending on where you are fireworks may or may not be permitted within city limits, so be mindful of your rural neighbors, their property, and livestock.
  • Don’t be a knob. Let people celebrate and have fun.

Much love and God bless the USA!
