sacchariwrites  asked:

Are you going to tell us now how you changed the story after you saw episode 10? You said you had to go back and re-outline the whole thing. I am interested in knowing how it differs.

i’m sorry if someone has already asked you this but can you share with us the original plan you had for umfb before episode 10? or can you not tell us until after the companion fic?

How Episode 10 Changed Everything (and other fun stories):

So as I’ve said a couple of times before, episode 10 was an absolute game changer for Until My Feet Bleed and My Heart Aches and now that the fic is finally done I’ll try and explain how although this may get a bit long and I wont go into too much detail about Viktor for companion fic reasons.

So the main three things that episode 10 changed in the fic was Viktor’s entire character, Yuuri as an unreliable narrator and the program music.

The most significant by far was Viktor’s character. Because pre episode 10 we really still didn’t know that much about Viktor and we had no idea about the banquet. So before episode 10 I assumed that Yuuri fell in love first and Viktor came to coach Yuuri out of curiosity because he likes surprises and doing something different and eventually and unexpectedly found himself falling in love. In a draft for another fic I was tossing ideas around for it actually centred on Viktor only realising he was in love with Yuuri just before the kiss in episode 7. Viktor was always very mysterious and I’m sure people who were in the fandom pre ep10 will remember all the theories that he was just using Yuuri and all that and while I didn’t believe that, I did assume that Viktor’s character trope was the ‘workaholic slowly learns how to love by being loved’ one.

But then episode 10 comes and completely knocks that out of the water because we find that Viktor is actually this adorable sappy romantic who calls Yuuri sleeping beauty and adores him and fell in love with him when he was wasted and dancing and brought life and love back into Viktor’s world. And that completely changed Viktor in the fic because after an episode from his pov I had a much better handle on his character and realised he absolutely wouldn’t act like he had been planned to act in the fic.

In the original plan he wasn’t ever a bad person or anything but he was actually a rival for Yuuri and he didn’t fall in love until much much later. But with episode 10 we also found out that Chris and Viktor are best buddies and Viktor likes skating with Chris and can’t imagine a season without him which means that in the fic there’s no way that Viktor would feel threatened by Yuuri as a rival because in canon he’s besties with his competitor and he’s way too much of a sweetheart for that. So in the fic it changed from Viktor reciprocating the rivalry to Viktor actually enjoying the challenge and excitement it brought into his life.

As for him falling in love, in chapter 10 the singing thing was always planned but that was originally the first sign that Viktor was starting to feel affection for Yuuri and was just the very beginning of him falling in love. It chapter 10! But after ep10 I realised that Viktor ‘love at first drunken dance’ Nikiforov would definitely not be having a solid two years of a ‘relationship’ and just be starting to fall because that would be seriously ooc and we finally saw just how much he adores Yuuri through his own eyes. And so in the fic I reworked the whole thing to fit with Viktor as a character as I now understood him and that included him falling first, falling hard and falling early.

Episode 10 also showed us just how much of an unreliable narrator Yuuri is, with the banquet and also how different everything seemed from Viktor’s eyes. And so that meant that I started to play with the idea of Yuuri being a seriously unreliable narrator and trying to tell a story where his version is very different to the version the audience see, which is obvious now pretty crucial to umfb&mha.

I also went back and reworked all the program music for the fic once episode 10 came out. Before it was all important and did have significance but after I knew that Viktor was going to fall early I decided to play around with the idea of showing the audience how he was feeling through his music. So I went back and completely changed the program music to tell a proper story (funny story, originally Yuuri was going to be the one skating to Sun and Moon. And then episode 10 happened and I looked at the new outline of the fic like ‘this is such a Viktor song oh my god).

Another thing that episode 10 changed was originally Chris wasn’t involved in the fic at all until we found out about his and Viktor’s friendship and that he’s actually such a bro not just a weird guy who gropes Yuuri and comes on the ice. As well as that, in episode 10 we also found out that Yuuri was actually the unknowing playboy in the Eros story not Viktor, coming into Viktor’s life, stealing his heart and then leaving without a word, which lead me adapting the fic to umfb!Yuuri becoming a perceived playboy by others through certain things that will be explored fully in the companion fic as a reference to that. There were also some smaller changes like the inclusion of the drunken Olympics and Yuuri knowing how to pole dance as a shout out to the episode.

Episode 12 also changed a lot. One of the things was Yurio and his role in the fic and how he feels about Yuuri which will be explored more in the companion fic. Also the original end of the fic was that Yuuri was going to try and fail to do the quad flip which ruins an otherwise perfect skate and potentially loses him the gold but he was willing to sacrifice it to tell Viktor. But in episode 12 we see that Yuuri can do a quad flip with his love for Viktor as motivation so it changed to Yuuri still potentially ruining his skate because he isn’t sure if he can land the jump but doing it anyway and actually succeeding because every time he tried and failed before it was because he was doing it out of bitterness trying to beat Viktor and this time he was doing it out of love.

The fic also changed a lot over the course of writing it just because characters take on a life of their own and my first draft was very rough and done before I’d written anything so I’ll try and do a chapter by chapter run down of the big changes from the rough plan I wrote before starting the fic to the end result.

Chapter 4:

·       Phichit originally wasn’t a big part of the fic but that very quickly changed because it’s Phichit and he’s so damn important to Yuuri and such an amazing character so I added him in early and made his part much bigger

·       There was originally going to be a discussion between Viktor and Yuuri that went badly and they both ended up annoyed and offended which sparked Viktor’s side of the rivalry but there was no way to do that without making them both dicks and ooc and after episode 10 it changed to Viktor trying to be helpful but unreliable narrator Yuuri taking it wrong and cutting the conversation short

Chapter 6:

·       Yuuri was originally going to be watching interviews and stuff of Viktor and thinking how arrogant and self-assured he was but this changed with Viktor’s character change because that’s just not him

·       Viktor was going to make a comment about Yuuri’s quads but this one was actually going to be an insult and again changed when Viktor’s character changed

·       The idea for the dream sequence only came later

Chapter 7:

·       Pole dancing only became a thing after episode 10

·       Viktor was going to only miss the GPS and come back for Worlds but lose because he wasn’t fully recovered but I decided I didn’t want the first time Yuuri won against Viktor to be so unsatisfying

·       The watching Yuuri skate at the rink didn’t originally happen at this point in the fic until after I saw ep 10

Chapter 8:

·       Yuuri never lost motivation originally but I decided at that point it was important in his character to almost give up but then come back with a vengeance

·       The drunken Olympics never originally happened

·       They were both originally going to be drunk when they first slept together but that got thrown out almost immediately because consent is very important and there was no way I was going to write a scene where both of them were drunk and therefore couldn’t give proper consent.  Also it was important it wasn’t a drunken mistake but a deliberate choice.

·       Viktor getting drinks never happened, instead he was going to be treating Yuuri in a similar way to how Yuuri was treating him

Chapter 9:

·       Yuuri was originally still going to be very hostile before I realised it was ooc and a dick move after Viktor was being nice to him so it changed to him congratulating Viktor after Viktor won. That then changed the sex scene from the mutual hatefuck it was going to be pre ep10 to Yuuri and the comments thing that sent him spiralling. The not-talking thing was also added as a plot device because Viktor as he became acted very differently to him as he was originally planned to be and it would have been too easy if he had been allowed to talk.

·       Viktor was originally going to take Yuuri out to dinner at the WC purely out of guilt

·       There was originally going to be another sex scene after the WC and dinner where Yuuri was angry at Viktor for ruining his skate but it would be ooc for both of them and got changed early on

Chapter 10:

·       Number swap was supposed to be just for hooking up but changed after ep10

·       Yuuri’s theme was originally going to be something related to hatred but it changed as his character developed and I realised how he was being affected by the events of the fic was different to the plan and that would be doing him a disservice as a character

·       Viktor was still kind of being a bit of a dick and making snide comments during sex when Yuuri won which was changed when I rewrote Viktor as a character after ep10

·       Conversation with Phichit was very short and didn’t involve a lot of the stuff it did in the final chapter

·       Viktor was again going to be acting very different in the second sex scene with none of the need or desperation that happened which all came about during his character change

·       Conversation with Chris never happened until the third of four re-writes of ep10 when I realised Viktor’s actions needed some more context for people who were ignoring the music

Chapter 11:

·       Lots of sex was supposed to happen in this chapter before I changed it for plot reasons and also companion fic reasons

·       Sex scene was supposed to be all about Yuuri acting like Eros Yuuri but those two idiots in love were very sappy and sentimental instead and it became a crucial relationship shift point instead

·       All domesticness from that chapter was planned out later in the fic as the fic was being written not in the first plan, including the borscht scene

Chapter 12:

·       Meal with the other skaters never happened

·       The revel about Yuuri’s virginity never happened in the first plan. Then in the rough draft of the chapter it happened at the same time as the second reveal but I split them because it worked better that way

·       This was when Viktor was supposed to secretly watch Yuuri skating his routine

·       Yurio wasn’t originally involved at all and Yuuri left after getting jealous. The love revelation never happened

Chapter 13:

·       Yurio appeared in this chapter instead although the conversation was very different in the rough plan because everything he talks about in the final version came about after episode 10 changed everything

·       Yuuri was originally going to be much more angry at the scandal and used his anger to win while Viktor still fucked up his skate but this changed early when I realised it was ooc and Yuuri would actually react very differently and that emotional devastation and heartbreak would ruin his skate instead

Chapter 14:

·       None of the conversations with Yuuri’s family were planned in detail in the first rough plan, I just knew he needed to go back to Hasetsu and have some revelations

·       Yuuri was supposed to convince himself that Viktor never loved him and never could and only realised Viktor’s feelings after seeing stammi vicino. This changed because it was very important for Yuuri to go and get some distance and time and then decided to come back and decided to try again with Viktor before he saw stammi vicino. It also changed because with Viktor as he became after ep10 and how he reacted there was no way that Yuuri would convince himself that Viktor never cared for him. He’s a bit emotionally dense sometimes but not an idiot

·       Yuuri was going to fall on the quad flip

So yeah, all this is from the very rough draft before I wrote any of it and the story adapted and changed along the way as I got more into the characters and got a better handle on how they would act until it became what you see today. It definitely became a much better story and I’m very happy with all the changes that I made! Having a plan is great for a framework but letting the characters grow and change naturally during the writing process is much more fun and I think makes for a better story

I’ve been planning to post this since I watched the movie.

So I watched Beauty and the Beast yesterday, and let me tell you, I am in love with it. I legit told my parents I was gonna marry that goddamn movie.

The story line and moral lesson was so sweet. The characters were so diverse and funny and heartbreaking and just overall amazing (I was legit screaming when I saw how many POC characters were in it, God bless). And even though some scenes were a bit rushed and auto tune was kinda irritating, I loved it.

But the best part of the movie was the introduction to Disney’s first canon, outed gay character.

When I first heard that there was gonna be some representation in a children’s film, I was so excited. However, I was kinda worried Disney would play it off as some joke or even make the person a rude, sinister jerk. When I heard LeFou was gonna be the gay character, it made me even more nervous.

But I saw him and his role in the movie. I was shook.

It was so beautiful.

LeFou - I’m so proud of Disney. He isn’t played off as a comic relief or a thing that shouldn’t exist, but he was so well-written and actually had layers. He went through so much development in the movie. His crush on Gaston influenced much of his actions, but soon he realized what was happening and ultimately found some good in his heart. He helped the antiques in the battle and he finally learned that he deserved more than a ruthless, heartless monster with a habit of leaving old men to die in the wilderness.

In the end, he got a happy ending. He’s over Gaston and is now happy and joyful at the ball dance, especially when a handsome young man - Stanley, I think - joins him in the revel.

Honestly, this movie made me feel so happy. But I’m not only gonna stop here.

If you don’t like the movie because you hate gay people: fuck you. It’s 2017, get your shit straight - actually, it’s already straight. But still - we live in a changing world, and we all know we can’t control love. If a princess can fall in love with a beast, I’m pretty sure two guys have the right to kiss.

Try to argue with me. Try.

Secondly, I know some people have doubts about LeFou being a good representative. Remember what I said above. His sexuality corresponds with his actions and behavior. It is shown many times that he loves Gaston, but he doesn’t stay in that want for him much longer when he realizes what a monster he actually is. Like what Mrs. Potts says: “You’re too good for him.”

So he learns a lesson and gets some development. But we have a final thing we have to discuss before I end this.

Many people are pretty upset that there isn’t much representation in general. That there isn’t enough, and most of what happens brings you laughing your ass off.

And to that I say: Look.

Look how far Disney has come. We went from a movie about how true love is always the answer (which it isn’t) to a movie with a diverse cast and the lesson that there is always good and kindness in our hearts. I’m proud that Disney has taken it’s first step (but not the last, mind you) in exploring different cultures and peoples from Polynesian tribes to their first gay character that isn’t “just a joke.” And this probably isn’t the last time we’ll see this kind of diversity.

Disney is taking baby steps, but I will wait for the rest of my life for a time where the LGBTQ+ community is nothing but ordinary. That we exist and we are more than just fetishes and stereotypes.

Be patient. This isn’t forever. Just like how it isn’t forever till you finally come to terms with your sexuality or gender identity. How it isn’t forever till you come out. How it isn’t forever till you make a difference in the world and win equality for all.

I hear so much about how little representation was shown and how the movie failed with it - but take the time to realize. We’re lucky we got actual representation. We’re lucky we’re here today, watching the birth of the first gay Disney character who’s outed and he isn’t just some doofus or laughingstock.

We’re lucky Disney finally heard us and listened.

Maybe they screwed up. Maybe they didn’t. You have your own opinion on how they played it out, and I have mine. But I want you all to know this isn’t the last time we’ll see this. This isn’t the last time we’ll find our community on the screen where so many different people can see.

If Disney doesn’t make more movies with more representation, like hell we would rest. We will make our voices heard, and we will make sure they know we aren’t going to rest until we are seen as valuable as a straight or cis person. We will make sure people will see who we are.

But right now, let’s just look. Look at how people are changing, how minds and ideas are changing. How the world is changing.

One day the world will change. One day everyone will be accepted for who they are, regardless of religion, sexuality, race, gender, kin, age, weight, or anything else. One day, love will bring people together instead of driving them apart, and hate would be something of the past.

It sounds poetic, I know. Even downright stupid.

But I hope this day will come.

The movement for equal rights had started long, long ago, and it’s not done yet. We will fight for our rights. And we still fight today.

This movie is not the start of Disney’s diversity, and it isn’t the end. I have a feeling they’re gonna make more representation in the times yet to come. But let’s be happy they took another step. A step that’ll help show the world that we’re all as valid as society’s “norms.”

I’m so proud of LeFou and what Disney has done, and I can’t wait for more.

So…thank you, Disney.

Thank you.

First, can people please quit the ‘and Disney’s patting themselves on the back for this’ thing? I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve heard people say that.

Disney never did what they’re accused of. They didn’t even say a word about it on social media or in the press, as far as I’m concerned (correct me if I’m wrong, I might be.) They weren’t even behind the idea of making LeFou gay.

The movie’s director and Josh Gad were. It wasn’t even in the script in the first place. It was just Bill Condon, a gay man whose long-time partner is a producer of the movie, taking that decision (be it to make LeFou gay or roll with Josh Gad’s interpretation, I admit I’m not sure how it happened exactly), letting Josh Gad do his thing, and then hoping Disney would be okay with it. I don’t care what you think of Disney in general, I’m personally not a Disney fan in the first place, but I care about misinformation.

Because it was Bill Condon, in an interview with a gay magazine, deciding he wanted to reveal it and being happy about it because he’d tried to include diversity in his movie. Not Disney. And what did he say about the ‘gay moment’, that wasn’t included in the Internet article? (it wasn’t the full version, if you wanted to read the whole thing you had to buy the magazine) That he was anxious not to overstate it, because “it’s a moment - it only lasts five seconds.” He never tried to pretend the scene would be huge.

Do you know who patted Disney on the back as if they were behind that decision? Do you know who ignored the full article to make their own, and by doing so did exactly what Bill Condon didn’t want to happen, and spread misinformation everywhere? The media.

Do you know who didn’t do a tiny bit of research that didn’t require buying the magazine before getting all mad and hateful? You all.

I’m tired of your negativity. I’m tired of you all shitting on the movie without even seeing it because you heard the 'gay moment’ is a three seconds scene. Shitting on LeFou without even giving him a chance because all you see is his animated counterpart (and god, did I hate the animated LeFou, and still do,) even though with a little bit of research you would have known he wasn’t going to be portrayed like a villain and an actual fool in the live action.

Besides, there’s more than that ‘gay moment’ at the end. LeFou really is gay and it’s there for the whole movie, as it should be. He’s not just thrown in a guy’s arms and whoop, surprise, he’s gay! Except the Gaston scene, it was subtly obvious that LeFou was gay, which I think is accurate given the time period (by that I mean he’s not going to openly tell everyone who wants to hear it that he likes men–particularly in that village)

Then, LeFou wasn’t funny because he’s gay. He was just funny. And gay. To be honest sometimes Lumière and Cogsworth felt more like comic relief characters than LeFou did.

That’s for the people who haven’t seen it and decided they wouldn’t. Now, about those who have seen it. I honestly can’t believe how many of you are like ‘there’s only one gay moment and it was shit and his gayness was played for laughs’ when… no? There’s more? Did we see the same movie?

And then, there are all the people saying LeFou is a homophobic stereotype.

Let’s be honest here, the only scene in which you could argue he was a flamboyant gay stereotype was the ‘Gaston’ scene. Yeah. That one over the top musical number. In which LeFou was confident, happy and adorable and didn’t give a flying f*ck what people thought of him. And guess what? No one in the movie ever mocks him for it, ever even reacts to him being flamboyant. Not even that asshole Gaston. I personally thought it was an amazing moment.

So… we’re going to do a LeFou scenes recap.

Introduction: LeFou’s funny, not because he’s gay but because he’s pretty much insulting Gaston and Gaston doesn’t notice. It’s basically shown he’s more clever and more reasonable than Gaston. Nothing stereotyped about him nor his mannerisms.

Arriving in the village: he just gets off his horse and tells the Bimbettes who were gushing over Gaston that it’s never going to happen. Nothing stereotyped about him nor his mannerisms.

Conversation with Gaston after ‘Belle’: he’s got a funny line, but it has nothing to do with him being gay. Then, he does a little head move and a sort of humming sound before following Gaston, that’s true. It could be interpreted as LeFou trying to imitate Gaston, or him acting towards Gaston the same way Gaston acts towards the Bimbettes. Either way, are you really going to hate on him for that little thing?

Mirror: he’s being his little sassy self. Nothing to say until the 'me neither.’ Probably the only moment that could be considered as 'gay for jokes.’ He wasn’t more ridiculous than Gaston a second before, though.

Already talked about the Gaston scene above.

After the ‘Gaston’ scene: “LeFou you’re the best, how is it no girl has snatched you up yet?” - “I’ve been told I’m clingy, but I really don’t get it” was basically a ‘I’m gay and I have a crush on you’ moment, and I don’t know about you, but I’ve seen the movie eight times, and no one ever laughed. Because it’s not funny. The tone of the moment, the absence of music… that scene clearly touched on the ‘LeFou is gay’ subject, probably in the most direct way in the whole movie, but wasn’t played nor shot as something funny. Nothing stereotyped about him nor his mannerisms.

In the woods: LeFou’s once again funny in this one, but because of how he deals with Maurice’s babbling about the Beast and the castle, and with Gaston’s anger. Funny lines, funny expressions easing the oncoming darkness of the scene. Again, it has nothing to do with the fact he’s gay. Nothing stereotyped about him nor his mannerisms.

In the tavern: for the second time LeFou shows he has a conscience and questions Gaston’s actions. He’s not comfortable with what has been done and will be done in the scene. There’s nothing funny about him in that scene. Nothing stereotyped about him nor his mannerisms.

Mob: once again he tries to talk some sense into Gaston. Nothing funny here, at all. This is the most serious LeFou gets. Nothing stereotyped about him nor his mannerisms.

Castle battle: LeFou is back to being funny at some points (‘you must be his grandmother’) Also he knows how to give a good punch, you go boy. Nothing stereotyped about him nor his mannerisms.

Ending: just some dancing. Nothing stereotyped about him nor his mannerisms.

So, yeah. This is what makes some people call LeFou a “homophobic stereotype.” Two tiny, not even five seconds moments at the beginning of the movie, out of everything else that was absolutely fine, and yeah, an over the top musical number.

I’m not saying LeFou is perfect representation. But it’s a start, and not a terrible one, by a gay director who had nothing but good intentions.

Listen. LeFou doesn’t die. LeFou doesn’t end up heartbroken. He’s not a villain. We’ve got a smart, sassy, confident canon gay character in a 1 billion dollars Disney movie, who goes through actual character development, taking him from worshipping and admiring Gaston because of their years of friendship and his loyalty and love for him, to questioning Gaston’s actions, to trying to confront him, to switching sides and being hinted at getting the boyfriend he deserves at the end.

Isn’t that enough for a first? I mean, believe me, I want a gay princess or a gay prince as well. I want a queer Disney story. We’re not there yet, but we will be. And it starts with characters like LeFou.

To those of you who are/were upset by LeFou’s character: I’m not saying you have no right to be. This is how you feel. This post isn’t for you, but if it helped change your mind, great! But there’s being upset or upset and angry… and then there’s just being angry bordering on straight up hateful. Too many people are just bitter and angry and spreading useless hate, including people who haven’t even seen the movie. I think that’s a shame. LeFou is a good character. They’ve done a wonderful job reinterpreting him, and he and the movie don’t deserve any of the hate they’re getting.

I guess I’m done here. This is what I wanted to say. I love LeFou, I love what they did with his character, I’m hopeful for the future of queer characters in Disney movies, and I’m not going to be sorry for it.

ps: don’t bother with anon hate, I won’t answer and I’ll immediately block you.

Fairy Tail Chapter 528 Review

So if people have been keeping up I’ve been spoiling this chapter today and boy was I not happy because this chapter my god.

I really like this cover image. I love the new art style of Erza’s first ever armor and I like the touch that Gray and Erza are front and center because in volume 3 it’s the same thing with them on the cover.

So we open on Acnologia stepping on Irene’s corpse which is still kinda amusing because yeah that Irene stuff still is a pain in the ass.

I guess Wendy would know it’s Acnologia because smell more than power but hey this is leading to the where the shit hits the fan.

Yup Jellal is back. Look a lot of people were happy to see hi back but here’s the problem I have. How? No seriously this will be a running theme about bad moments in this chapter and it’s how? We don’t know how Jellal got here, now people will say that scene against august where he said he’d protect Erza but there’s not a scene of him getting up or anything like that it’s just lazy. He comes out of nowhere without any foreshadowing.

So that was my frustration, how are you here? August left you in a ditch. we never saw you get up or anything like that. You just thought of Erza and that was it. But here’s the thing I’ve always said is Jellal’s greatest problem, he is always forced into an arc haphazardly but this arc lacks that because it’s war, it affects everyone. Also, it’s war against Zeref the character you wanted to fight since the timeskip. Also here’s my biggest problem, where are the oracion Seis? Because it seems you left them behind, that is very wrong, you are basically the guild master crime sorciere but you abadoned your guild to save Erza, which I understand is the wwoman you love but shouldn’t your priorities be focused on your team. Or hell just bring them along, it actually would help make sense because Cobra could hear where erza is.

anyway back to the story…

So Jellal attacks for several pages and…

Acnologia shows why you don’t fuck with Acologia. But again just wait it gets better…

Oh no. Yup people Acnologia eats all magic.Which is kinda cool until we’ve seen this all ready. Irene with Deus Zero and August with his negation, all these final bosses have something to do with “your magic is ineffective against me” it just seems lazy.

And best scene of the chapter. No I’m serious. Wendy is deciding that she is the one who must fight Acnologia because it’s her job as a Dragon Slayer. This is amazing to see that little girl who hid from fighting is now facing the big bad herself. This is what a final arc is, the joy of watching that development come through.

Little problem I have is Erza is concerned but Jellal is and why does Jellal care about Wendy? That was Mystogan who cared. I know Wendy brought him back but they’ve barely established a connection and yet there are times he’s worried about her which makes no sense giving they haven’t made a reason for it other than “you revived me”. I guess he’s concerned in a base sense but still, it feel like it comes from nowhere.

Oh god. This was a moment where I was like “THAT SO COOL” but then I remember it was shot down by Wahl Icht, how it it back, how is Ichiya there? I guess universe one moved him but did he fix this ship? It just doesn’t make sense. Where did it come from.

Okay first off I wasn’t mad that Christina could hold off Acnologia, we saw Makarov in Titan form tank it but why Isn’t shooting it? Why? Even if it’s a fast ship, it’s big, Acnologia could shoot it down.

Second, we need to “lead it to a certain place” we can beat Acnologia. Well, now you are straight up ripping off Rave Master because to defeat Endless he had to be lured into star memory. Also this place where Acnologia may be defeated, never brought up before.

And finally this new character appears, Oh boy with the text putting emphesis on “KEY” you know it’s a celestial wizard and one that could know about Acnologia, it might be Anna Heartfilia. OH WHAT BULLSHIT IF THAT IS TRUE! We don’t know anything about Anna, who is she, no actual alluding to the possibility she came to the future. Did she cross the eclipse gate? That is again bullshit if true. This means nothing, you just pulled this out of your ass. Yes we’ve talked about Anna and what she did but again WHO IS SHE?

But some people have pointed out that because of the hairy and how Anna didn’t have bangs that framed her face it could be Layla… WHAT THE FUCK, THEN? If there one character who had been established to be dead this whole series just to come back as a deus ex machina, what a load of crap. Plus with the next chapter called teacher and we know Layla had students, it could be her. And like Anna, no build up prior.

Post Chapter Follow up: Ugh this chapter was not good. I know a lot of people thought I’d hate this chapter because Jellal showed up but that wasn’t my problem. My problem with all of those scenes I bitched about had no foreshadowing, at all. Jellal maybe thinking about Erza but even then, not enough at all. The Christina is back, HOW? New character that may be Layla or Anna, HOW? There’s a place where Acnologia can be defeated, HOW? None was built up, scenes like these lose weight because they weren’t built uo, they rely on the amount of shock value and rise it gets out of you. For this chapter to be liked, you have to be sitting there and just keep saying “FINE” FINE” “FINE” to everything thrown at you and that’s not good story telling.

Okay so Acnologia is this all slayer which again builds up there’s no way to beat him other than dragon slayers. But, you add in this place we’ve never been introduced or alluded to. 5 dragon slayer that can beat Acnologia that was the plan you had to mess with it didn’t you hiro?

Also, I know a lot were happy to see Jellal but her’s my question, why is he fighting Acnologia? It’s been built sense the timeskip he’d fight Zeref but this wasn’t built up at all, other than Erza was there.

So any positives? Well… Yes. Wendy’s moment is amazing, she has come far. It’s always good to see development acknowledged. She’s probably the most developed character in this chapter.

Also Acnologia is still on point. He’s taking everything Jellal has and just laughing it off. It’s nice to see him not treated as less. Also I was Glad to see Erza not do something. She shouldn’t be able to given her condition fro just recovering.

Ugh this is the part where I pass final verdict but before I do, I want to say we don’t have much time left for FT. I think we may have only 15-20 chapters left maybe less. And I want all of them to be great but no more like these, Hiro, please this is what you leave people with, it’s time to buckle down and really try. Because this climax could be awful if you stay the course.

Final Verdict: 3/10

  • Foreshadowing “what’s that”
  • Below average pacing
  • Just all around not fulfilling

anonymous asked:

Crazyanime3 do you recommend servamp? Should I watch it? Yes, I am looking for your biased opinion lol please and thank you

HELL YES I RECOMMEND YOU WATCH IT AND I RECOMMEND THE MANGA TWICE AS MUCH TOO(it has a lot more to it tbh) It’s probably one of my most favorite vampire series! (I say this cause I starting reading “The Case Study of Vanitas” and I like that so far too)

Okay hold I am gonna end up writing a bit of an essay here. THANK YOU GOD IT’S THE WEEKEND LOL. (I want all the support for a season 2 after all)

I will try my best to tell you a bit about the all character groups(its faster this way…) and what I like about them without spoiling too much since you are looking to possibly read or watch it. There are a lot of them.

So Servamp has these 7 main deadly “Servamps”(and their “eves” who I will talk about in a sec), reason there are seven of them is because they are they are the seven deadly sins, plus the 8th Servamp who’s their youngest “brother” and he wants to kill them all and their eves. (try and guess who’s that one lol) What a lovely family pffffttt, they should really talk about their problems together….

They are called Servamps cause they are “servant vampires” to humans, their eves and basically just do whatever their eve says… well if you “use them correctly?”

and here’s their “birth order??”, more like “creation order” I guess you could say….

  1. Sleepy Ash of Sloth
  2. Old Child of Pride
  3. Doubt Doubt of Envy
  4. The Mother of Wrath
  5. Lawless of Greed
  6. World End of Gluttony
  7. All of Love of Lust

and the bonus sin, I mean sibling

8. Who is Coming of Melancholy (don’t forget him or you die, literally)

and some things I love about them all as whole:

  • Despite their “physical appearances” they consider each other “younger” and “older” even though the “oldest” one, Kuro is like physically 18 but his psychotic youngest brother, Tsubaki is physically 21. This just amuses me. Basically “I was a vampire longer than you so technically I am much much older than you” by like a century or so. I dunno.
  • They don’t constantly thirst for blood, cause they can eat human food too. Some even prefer it. Blood is more like a “power up” for them when they fight with their eve.
  • They consider each family, even though they don’t all get along necessarily. (like legit say “big brother” and “baby brother” omg)
  • You know how in old fashioned vampire stories, vampires can turn into bats? In Servamp they all have DIFFERENT animal forms and they are all pretty cute too. One of the Servamps is a bat actually, but that’s cause he is old fashioned. We got a cat, snake, wolf, hedgehog, pig, butterfly and a fox.  I guess, it’s kinda what also lures you into making a contract with them…hehe)
  • There’s only 1 female BUT SHE ISN’T LUST. She’s Wrath and SHE’S COOL AND NOT USED FOR FAN SERVICE AT ALL. Also the sin of Lust is a guy named Snow Lily and he’s actually a really sweet guy. (he might make you cry if you read volume 4, cause I did ;__;)
  • mixed personalities. ALL OF THEM, some get along some others not so much. Some may try to fight the other…
  • Will die for their eve.

okay there’s a lot I could say about them but I am trying so hard to be VAGUE. AHHH

and we have our main human characters the Servamps “eves” or masters

There are only of a few of them though cause not all the Servamp have one(or not revealed yet) if you watch or read Servamp you’d know why some don’t currently have one.

  • Like the sevamps all have mixed personalities and they all have different viewpoints/opinions about vampires.
  • two of them are related, try and guess which two, I dare you.
  • Almost all the eves are basically their servamps polar opposite. It’s amazing how some pairs manage to work together. (For example Sloth Pair, is duo of a hardworking guy who wants to save everyone, and then there’s his Servamp of Sloth who could maybe care less…or does he? :0)
  • One of them is a TOTAL MOM friend. They even call him “mom” in a drama CD. ITS CANON.
  • They are not all the same age, but some close in age. They are 14, 15, 16, 18 AND THEN 23. Yeah, try and pin an age to each haha, You might’ve never guessed for some)
  • One is a famous.
  • they all get weapons and abilities from the Servamp contracts. They are all pretty and unique, and strange even.
  • all have a different kind of relationship with their Servamp, you will love them all tbh.

danggit the last pic is so tiny whhaaa.

and last major group of characters I am gonna talk about is the subclass vampires. These are the more lower level vampires created by Servamps. Subclass are originally humans who the Servamps saved. A dying human drinks Servamp blood and becomes a vampire and follows the Servamp(and eve) around basically and does what they say. “Extra servants”, I suppose? But some of the Servamps considered their subclass, “friends” or “FAMILY” ahhh it makes me cry. ;w;

I would make points about the subclass too but there are A LOT OF THEM and they are more diverse, And the “Melancholy Team” in the first image is pretty much the main subclass group who see since they work with the “big bad” of the series.

SO YEAH. PLENTY OF REASONS TO WATCH SERVAMP. But a few things about the anime adaption:

  • They cut out quite a bit of the “lesser” characters in the anime, so some characters you will only get see in the manga, or only a little a bit of in the anime and WAY MORE in the manga. But the anime also doesn’t reach a certain point for us to see some characters. (there’s a chance for S2 though so maybe we will??)

some examples:

  • We don’t get to see everyone’s character developments. Some only seen or learned more about in the manga. Or the some of the development between characters is kinda done differently in the anime version.
  • Animes always do this, but they do cut out some dialogue, scenes, AND ONE ENTIRE ARC and some things do happen earlier than they are supposed too.
  • They leave out some funny parts of it too, which is boo…. :p
  • The anime’s ending is a little…. weird. You have to see it for yourself. :|
  • the pacing is a bit fast.
  • some moments are moved around in the anime too. Still happen but in a different spot.

BUT!!! THE ANIME IS STILL ENJOYABLE. A lot of things ARE still the same and you will still be able to understand the story and everything else.

- You still get most backstories
- You will definitely end up with a fave Servamp/Eve pair(and I don’t mean ships necessarily)

Arrow 5x15 “Fighting Fire With Fire”: We All Got Burned

I’m not quite sure how the Arrow writers are managing this but every single week this show has gotten worse. The issues plaguing the show have only dug in deeper, taking root and I’m not quite sure how Arrow at this point can rid itself of the legacy this season is going to leave in regards to the industry and the fans.

I fully understand that everything is a journey and when you are writing a twenty-three episode series, they tend to draw out plot points that a 13 episode series would conclude rather quickly or smartly avoid. But there is the difference between taking the long way to your destination and setting the car on fire while you’re still driving it.

The Arrow writers have completely forgotten this. Their oft-espoused “back to basics” really meant they were going to erase years of character development. I do not recognize these characters anymore. I do not know Oliver Queen anymore. This isn’t the character that I’ve loved; that I’ve defended like a momma lion; and that I’ve championed a hero even when he wasn’t working with his better angels.

This character is an asshole. I was rooting for impeachment. I’m this close from starting up a Prometheus fanclub. I was once a huge The Vampire Diaries fan. And then Elena Gilbert became a vampire and the show was ruined for me because the show ruined its protagonist. Everything about her character was erased entirely just to perpetuate a love triangle that they had supposedly resolved at the end of the previous season. In doing so, they turned Elena Gilbert entirely unlikeable for me. I just never got over her 24-hr brother swapping or her irritating personality change that was never really explained properly. I never thought I’d see another show destroy its own protagonist as swiftly as TVD managed to do.

Thus it was funny that I would go on to watch Arrow and root for Oliver Queen, who had his own history of sister swapping. But the difference was that kind of behavior was clearly in Oliver’s past; he was beyond that. He’d grown and learned that he’d been an asshole because karma had kicked his ass something fierce. I’m not saying he didn’t screw up in the present because Lord knows he did. The revival of Oliver and Sara’s relationship was in the worst taste. But it was a little more believable than this push for Oliver and Susan’s relationship in S5.

I thought that douchebag behavior was behind Oliver. Especially once he and Felicity had gotten together. He’d found his light and the one to help him harness it. Oliver had attained a kind of emotional maturity and then the BMD happened. It’s really all been downhill for Oliver since 4x08. It only got worse when S5 started. And yet somehow in 5B they have managed to make all of it worse than 4B and 5A.

I am at my breaking point with Oliver. This isn’t a good feeling as someone who loved his character; as someone who loved this show and was rooting for him to come out the end a better, fully-developed person and hero; and as someone who shipped him with my favorite female character. Because here is the hard truth that makes my stomach hurt to even think: Felicity deserves better than this version of Oliver. I think I’ll stick with what I named him last week: Ollie 2.0. And without some sort of magical reversal, I can’t quite see how any kind of reunion between Olicity could be a good thing, let alone believable. I actually have tears in my eyes writing that out. Like a physical pain has lanced my chest. But I feel that defeated after this episode. I am grateful that we have a couple of weeks off before this reel disaster returns.

221: Cat Grant said “Resist”, so Resist.

What an episode, what an episode ! An episode that reminded me the good old days of season 1.

Cat Grant returned to National City and the show is back to its main strength: Women.

Recap (sorry it is a long post again):

Kara: “Miss Grant.” Yeah Kara, Miss Grant is back. I loved Kara, in this episode. It’s the Kara/Supergirl I fell in love with in season 1. The one who leads, the one who tries to find the best solution, the one who needs advice, the one who resists, the one who stands up, the one who saves and loves.

I gotta say that Melissa is a lucky woman who had in this episode at least one scene with each of these amazing women: Chyler, Floriana, Calista, Brenda, Teri, Katie and Lynda.

Alex: “I am evacuating the DEO.” Alex as the director of the DEO, I say YES. Besides, being in charge put her in a situation in which she had to face several choices. Follow orders as Agent Danvers, or follow her heart as Alex Danvers.

It’s complex and even if she’s scared, she is strong enough to believe that she can be both: being The Agent and being The Woman who loves Kara and Maggie. Alex Danvers is a Heart.

By the way, the scene where Alex jumped out of the DEO, Chyler just WOW.

Winn: “Oh my god the president is an alien”. Winn was great in this episode. He cares so much about everybody; Maggie, Kara, Alex, James and Cat. Winn is the little brother.

His scenes with Cat Grant were amazing. Their little hug when Cat arrived in the bar was really sweet, and also the way he protected Cat at CatCo. I need more Winn and Cat.

James: “You’re safe now Miss Grant.” From all of us, thank you James. We didn’t see him a lot, but the scene where he saved Winn and Cat is great. I loved it.

Jonn: “What would Jonn say?” Well, we didn’t really see him, but we did see David as Cyborg Superman.

PrinceMon: “I can see why Kara loves you”. Episode 221 and Mon El finally said something that makes sense. However, he’s still useless whatever he’s with his mother, Lena or Kara. Anyway.

Clark: We saw Superman at the end, he didn’t really look like himself. I gotta say, I didn’t see that coming.

Jeremiah: He was mentioned, but nobody knows where he is…. weird.

Eliza: Talking about Jeremiah, where is Eliza? I hope she is in a safe place.

The President: “I suppose I owe you an explanation.” Finally we know more about her, and her intentions. Her scenes with Cat Grant were priceless. Lynda Carter rocks.

Rhea: “Welcome to new Daxam”. Rhea, the kind of villain that I love to hate. And seriously, Teri Hatcher is just freaking perfect.

Lillian: “What? not happy to see me”. Oh My God, you gotta love Brenda Strong for the way she plays Lillian. As a real Luthor, we don’t know what she’s up to.

I really liked the moment where Lillian talked with Supergirl about the fact that she knows she’s Kara. It was intense.

Lena: “Yeah I’m fine”. Yes Lena is fine, thanks for her. I love Lena Luthor since the beginning and with this episode I love her even more. She was so done of everything on the Daxam Ship, it was so funny. But she’s there, standing, being strong, speaking, holding a gun to save Mon El (love that moment). When she escaped with her mother and CyborgS, she keeps standing, standing for Supergirl.

Maggie: “The first time we meet”. So National City became Star Wars. Everybody is scared, fighting, in a hurry panic mode, but our favorite detective is there, being relax, soft, romantic, badass when she needs to be, and everything is cool. You gotta love Maggie Sawyer, she is really something else.

I liked that she didn’t put more pressure on Alex shoulders about pushing the button. She’s there, standing next to Alex, to support her whatever the decision she’ll make.

Cat: “I’m Cat Grant, not going anywhere”. In one episode, we saw that Cat Grant is the character that brings this show to another level. She makes it feminist, deeper, and more powerful. Only Cat Grant can does it, no one else.

I loved her scenes with Kara, Winn and Olivia. I also loved the fact that she called Winn “Winslow”, mentioned Kara as “Kiera” and the way she said “Thanks James”.

“We are Women”, “At least tell me you’re still a democrate”“And seeing E.T but I thought it was the pot brownies”, “Tiara woman”, her whole “RESIST” speech with the line “Everyone needs to be a superhero”… I don’t know how many punch lines she had during that episode but I do know that Cat Grant is A Legend. Cat Grant is AN Icon and Calista is Fabulous.

Karamel: Their kiss reminded me that Karamel as canon still exists. Why Karamel still exists? I don’t know.

Sanvers: “Full circle”. I love Sanvers. But it’s not because I love them that I can’t be a bit critical. To be honest, I was a little disappointed with the bar scene, mostly because of the writing.

Having Maggie on the phone saying “Danvers I need you” and Alex being at the bar while Maggie is outside was not… them. I won’t talk about the kiss….Then Maggie left with Guardian and Alex just let her go without saying anything. Okay…

But, everything gets better after, when they’re working together “Trusted agent on my six”. Team Sanvers is the best team. Sanvers is a full circle, Sanvers is endgame.

Supercorp: “Likewise”. Kara Danvers loves Lena Luthor. Lena Luthor loves Kara Danvers. What a development. Like I said before, everybody thought it was impossible for a Super and a Luthor to get along, Kara and Lena build the possible.

Now, we don’t know what’s going to happen, but to me, Supercorp is the most fascinating relationship on the show. I would love to see for the season finale a cliffhanger that focus on Kara and Lena connection. It would dare and it would be great.

The Danvers Sisters: “I know you’re fast but be faster”. We had some beautiful, emotional, Danvers Sisters scenes again in this episode and I am so happy about it.

From “I’ll meet you outside”, well that is a freaking meeting full of trust, to “Come on Kara”, the Heart and the Soul of the show are still beating and strong. It always comes back to them.

I loved when they flew together at the begining of the episode, because last time we saw The Danvers Sisters flying was when they were teenagers. Their hug before Kara left, with Alex being worried and crying, it felt like season 1 again.

SuperCat: “I really missed your advice Miss Grant” - “And I missed giving it. Now shoo, up up and away. No time to lose.”

I really missed Miss Grant too and the Kara/Cat moments. From the scene where Supergirl saved Cat (not to mention she chose to save Cat and not the President) to that talk scene outside the bar, it felt like Kara was home again.

Cat and Kara are both powerful women. They inspire each other, they admire each other. Besides, Melissa and Calista are such a great team.

Next Episode: Season finale, it looks intense. I hope we’re gonna see everybody again, and that it’s gonna be as feminist as “Resist”. It would be perfect if Megan could come back as well.

Oh and I almost forgot: “The future is female”

To all the jikook shippers out there who haven’t read a touch of sin by pettey yet: please do! That thing is the best shit i’ve ever read. I mean, literally the best. Not only in jikook fandom, in generally. And i’m a veteran k-pop fan. And I’m not only talking about k-pop ships or fandoms. I’m telling you this fic is literally like a book. Hell, even those who are not jikook shippers: imagine whoever you want in Jimin and Jungkook’s place if it makes it easier for you. But read it! I’m a SAD SAPPY SUCKER that i’m not from some kind of fucking publishing company. Wish I were. I would contact this person and publish the hell out of this masterpiece. It’s such a waste, i’m fucking sad i can’t hold it in my own hands. It’s 102k words and I read it two times… IN A ROW! ME, who’s not even into long fics, i prefer fics with 10-30k words. All the atmospher of this story, the characters, the character developments, the plot, for fucks sake, the plot is so original and special! This whole story is not some cute romantic story, it’s so much more than that. It’s more about the story, the characters, their lives, their little, hidden secrets eating them alive from the inside. There is so much tension. Sexual too, of course, but not only that. Once you start reading it you just can not stop, it pulls you in and suddenly you are drawning in the feelings. And the historical references…

Okay, i’ll stop babbling now. xD

Here’s a link if anyone is interested. I’M BEGGING YOU TO READ IT, PLEASE!!! Give it a chance at least, just start reading it. Trust me you won’t be able to stop. (Hell, it’s not even a genre i like, i mean the horror stuff, i didn’t even want to open it first, i literally just ACCIDENTALLY opened it, and thought i would just scroll down a bit and that was it. That was the end of me. *.*)

a touch of sin by pettey :

Aaaaannnnd TO those of you who are good in making videos: pretty please, someone do a f*cking video to this fic!!! *____* We have so many things to use. Many scene to use with them around a beach, and even have jail-stuffs now, or Kookie has many scene with lighting, or blowing out flames, which is not actually in the fic but could be useful for the rite scenes. And you know what would be even more amazing? Making a video to this fic with Jeongseon Arirang. Have you ever heard it? Yeah, i know. Arirang, unofficial national anthem and all… But it has it. That atmospher and all, that feeling the fic gives you with shaman Jimin and all, oh my god, the chills. Please, someone do it, i’m begging you!!! *.*

A Comparative Commentary on Love O2O
微微一笑很倾城: the Canon, Drama, and Movie

I may not be your biggest fan of the franchise, but I’ve been wanting to finish off this overdue commentary which have been sitting in the drafts for months… This is a comparative commentary of the two live action adaptations, with knowledge of the novel as a basis. (I have read the book first, watched the drama, then the movie.)

Disclaimer: This commentary is fundamentally still coming from my own perspective and opinions. Differing opinions are welcomed but be nice!

The drama and movie have different focuses, each with their own strengths and flaws.

The drama worked better as a live action/lighthearted romcom, while the movie better as an adaptation.

My Review of The Originals 4x02 - No Quarter

Can you believe that we’re only 2 episodes into Season 4, but yet it’s already 100% better then TVD’s entire 8 season! I loved this episode, from the minute it started to the moment it ended. I’m sorry but this is why The Originals is far more well developed than TVD. From the storylines to the characters, I mean they just pull you in. And the fact that a season 5 renewal is still up in the air, pisses me off.

Everything about this episode was top notch. Seeing all The Originals back together (minus Finn, Mikael and Esther sadly), is what makes this show amazing. I loved the little bits of comedy with got from Josh and the sassy moments we got from Kol. I especially adored seeing Cami again and watching her interact with Klaus and I couldn’t contain excitement when The Originals came back stronger and more united.

This season has only just started but my god, it’s turning out to be a hell of a good one!

- Favourite Scenes

1. Cami/Klamille!

The first moment Cami appeared on screen the tears were already pouring. I’ve missed her so damn much and to see her again was so bittersweet.

No other relationship that Klaus gets into now or in the future will ever compare to his one with Cami. I’m not just saying that because I’m a Klamille shipper. I’m saying it because this episode along with the whole development of their relationship proves that. Cami will always be Klaus anchor, if you will. She is the only person that gets him to open up, gets him to be vulnerable.

Their dynamic is beautiful, it’s real and it’s one that will never burn out. I love how Klaus had so many other people he could of hallucinated, but he choose Cami. Their connection is undeniably solid and like Klaus said he’ll always carry her with him.

So to be able to see that after 5 years, just made me smile. It made me fall in love with them all over again, and it reminded me that Cami was truly one of the few people that managed to teach Klaus and to show him, that he does have some good within him. She never stopped believing, she never stopped showing how much she cares for him, but most importantly both of them will never stop loving each other.

I won’t lie I’m still bitter that the writers killed her off, considering she still had so much more potential. So in saying that, I do hope that they can at least bring her back again because I love watching Klaus and Cami together.

2. Kol’s Sass
Hands down Kol was one of the highlights this episode! The level of sass and the “I don’t give a fuck” attitude Kol brought was bloody brilliant.

Watching Kol this episode just proved how vital and important he is within the family, and why he shouldn’t be killed off over and over again just for dramatic effect. I know that it comes down to the actor, busy schedules, etc, but I have my fingers crossed that we do see more of Kol. Because The Originals work best when it’s centered around ALL of the family members, and this episode showed us how amazing it is when every family member is present (well minis Finn, because they sure like to kill him off without giving him a proper storyline first, and just when he was starting to get interesting too -__-).

3. Klaus Sees Hope
My heart melted when Klaus looked at Hope for the first time. One of the most interesting storylines this season is most definitely going to be Klaus and Hope’s relationship, and I’m excited to see a part of that play out next episode.

I thoroughly enjoyed the talk Klaus had with Cami about not wanting Hope to have the same life he did, and to me that just shows what a long way Klaus has come. I can’t wait to watch the growing bond that will surely develop between father and daughter, because I’m really curious to see what traits Hope has picked up from Klaus.

- Least Favourite Scene
“Despite being raised by you people, I’m nothing like any of you”. - Marcel Gerard. It wasn’t a least favourite scene, more like a least favourite quote. And when Marcel said the quote above, I instantly didn’t agree with it.

For my perspective, I wouldn’t say that Marcel isn’t like any of The Originals. He may not share the same name, but he does share the same qualities. Both would do absolutely anything to protect the people they love, both would go to extreme measures to defeat their enemies, both would do anything to win and both share the same need and want for control and power. That is why I don’t agree with what Marcel said.

Just because his willing to show mercy (although let’s see how long that lasts), doesn’t mean that makes him different from The Originals. Because they’ve been times when they too have been able to show mercy. Maybe not so much Klaus when we first meet him, but Elijah demonstrated that he can be fair and I’m pretty sure Rebekah has too.

I said in my first review for 4x01 that Klaus and Marcel are different but yet the same, and the “I’m nothing like any of you” part to me, is completely bullshit and false. Because no matter how much Marcel want’s to denial it, he too can be just as brutal, ruthless and power hungry as The Original Family.

- My rating of the episode (it will be a rating out of 10)
I will rate this episode a 9/10

- Favourite quote/line
KLAUS: I miss you Camille
JOSH: Okay, why do you guys even need me? I know I’m adorable but I’m extremely small potatoes
Rebekah: If it’s a trophy you’re after, then you’re not much of a man to begin with
KOL: Save the compliments when he comes to kill us, flattery might give him pause
KOL: Oh for god’s sake, you were never a Mikaelson, get over it.

Straight people, take a seat.

I started replying to some FF online, but brought the comments over here because I think it’s very weird people are attacking Supercorp shippers and assuming the dislike of Karamel and SG S2 is due to “gay things” only…

When it comes to this show, I binged the first season back innnn September?  I was semi-interested in the show, but once I started watching, I loved Kara’s storyline of growth and coming into being who you really are, and fighting the odds and evils of the world when one, it’s hard to be taken seriously when you’re a positive person in a very cynical world, and two, being positive and fighting for good in the wake of undergoing the horrible loss/ tragedy she has gone through.  It’s amazing she is not a bitter and sullen entity.  She’s a complicated character who is strong enough to keep hope alive despite what she’s gone through.  The show reminds me quite a bit of Buffy in that way (I’m a huge Joss Whedon fan, and think he would have been great for a show like this…)

Furthermore, Cat Grant was an essential staple to this show, and it’s a shame Calista couldn’t commit to it.  I’m a gay woman and like any gay lady fan, I can read into a situation and try and make it gay. XD  However, maybe it’s because I’m old now, but when it came to Cat/Kara, I admired that role so much because it was about the really special power of mentor/mentee relationships between females.  I’m a very career oriented individual, and to me, finding a Cat Grant as a life mentor?!?!  Oh my god, I would swoon and die.  That would be AMAZING. :D  I never read any romance into their situation, and I appreciated what it was.  Supergirl Season 1 was a non-romantic, girl-action and female relationships empowerment haven to me. (Believe it or not hetero people, gay women can have great relationships with straight women in a healthy, empower, and strictly platonic way).

Moving onto James Olsen… I wasn’t really sold on them as a couple, but in the wake of S2 I literally am like, James is 800x better than Mon-El, like the betterness limit does not exist, haha.  I wasn’t sold, but it’s so clear that the abrupt end to their prior season long slow burn as we went into S2 at CW, and then Mon-El just dropped in, like… it’s clear there was a huge direction change because we’re still suffering whiplash and brain damage from that choice.  No to James because they magically no longer like one another, only to spend an entire season not liking a boy who has openly praised his prior objectivity of women… to then her liking him…..

The logic does not compute.  In the words of BTVS, “your logic does not resemble our Earth logic.” XD  It’s a very weird switch, it doesn’t seem thoroughly explained, and furthermore we were left with cliffhangers like the Jeremiah storyline, only having that really touched upon once, and soon to be twice, next week….  I mean, I just don’t understand it.  That’s pretty much where I’m at.  The transition of both networks and priorities for the show are incredibly apparent.

The show has kind of become like a superhero high school teen drama; Alex with Maggie, Jo'on and M'gann, Kara and Mon-El, Winn and new girl, and James to go through his post-break up identity crisis (lol, love James, teasing).  Like… what about Alex and Jo'on focusing on Jeremiah?  What about Winn’s awesome progress and even his storyline with Toyman?  What has Kara done growth-wise outside of teaching Mon-El to behave like a grown up which should have been handled when he was age 5?

Again, the storytelling just seems to have significantly deteriorated, and I haven’t even brought up Supercorp/ Lena, yet!  So the notion that a lot of this hate on S2/ Karamel is due to angry gay women is completely fallacious.  That’s just the queer-baiting cherry on top of the cake of disappointment and icing of bad writing.

That’s fine if you watch this show for really basic, white, hetero bullshit, but that shit is shoveled to me everywhere else on every other platform, and I’m more than good.  Not to mention, can we talk about how Kevin Smith, the praised addition to this show’s staff, is the guy who made a movie about a lesbian going straight again for a dude…. Like, I can’t even, hahahah.  Go back to Clerks dude, that shit was better.

In conclusion, there are copious valid reasons as to why fans are disgruntled by the show’s evident lull, not to mention Mon-El’s highly problematic character… I’m sorry, but he’s the kid who would be on Duke’s Lacrosse team in the real world (and by sorry, I mean not sorry).  Side bar, I actually feel badly for Chris now, and think his crappy acting with this show is due to his crappy character.  I’m disliking him less and missing him on Vampire Diaries. XD

As for Supercorp, there’s no need to elaborate further on what is blatant good screen/ scene partner chemistry.  Katie McGrath is a badass, and not just because she’s gorgeous.  Lena’s relationship with Kara is as natural as Kara’s with Alex.  Melissa and Katie act well together, and unless you’re a moron, you know acting is a hard craft and you don’t always have good chemistry with ever everybody.  If you want to say they’re only friends, I’ll even give that to you, but that doesn’t take away from the just terrible storytelling, poor character development and overall bad trajectory of Supergirl as a show.  Let’s aim for telling stories and showing characters that aren’t bland, basic and white like rice cakes that don’t support sexist undertones.  I’m over it. ^_^

You know..

..the last episode (Flash, 3x22) with Captain Cold gave me peace. CW doesn`t deserve Leonard Snart in regular. Legends don`t deserve him. Even White Canary for Captain Canary… i don`t like Sara in season 2 at all.. Not just because she never talk about him. No… it`s because, in my opinion, this character is too “cut off from normal life”. All those captainship, girls, talks about “we are family” and insults to Mick at the same time.. i don`t know.. it`s just not the way how character should develop after death experience. Snart,on the other hand, wanted to start his normal life. He made his move. He outweighed everything bad he ever did. Revenged for himself. And, i think, he was ready to let go all of it.

And we still heard nothing about Lisa. That is truly sad. I hoped Mick would say something like “When i told Lisa she screamed at me and kicked me out. She said never come back”. Then Mick`s depression in the beginning of s2 made more sense. Rewatching Lisa`s episodes made me feel like Lisa can live her life. Maybe as criminal or more like usual. Whatever.

Coldwave was awesome before Snart`s killing Amaya and Mick moment. It was really really amazing! Now i`m not sure about possible reunion for two of them. Mick is part of the team now. He is happy as he could be. He is safe. And i`m happy for him.

ColdFlash was beautiful. Flash said the old friend about Leonard. Barry`s face when he found out.. god.. the scene itself was awful but his face was so painful for few seconds.. and then there is 3x22. OMG.. teamwork was amazing! Barry made his goodbye to Cold. To good one Captain Cold. To the hero. to the legend. And Snart is legend.. we all know it. He is so masterful thief that noone ever could be in the whole damn CW universe!!

He may be dead for good, or in the timestream or somewhere else.. i just hope that he is in peace. No hopes for captain canary for me (last info from Caity made it pretty clear that Sara is going to have a lot of love interests in season 3 and this is going to be another mess), no Coldwave hopes too (Mick found his place in this world), no Snarts sibling hope either (Lisa is not going to be there too.. probably).. only some ColdFlash hopes (some unreal Snart again or Barry`s talking about him). My cold boy. Thank you. And goodbye.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 Spoilerish Review

Firstly, bravo to Marvel for managing to make another successful sequel! Guardians of the galaxy vol 2 was amazing!

1. The plot was amazing! I like how each of these films seems to have a theme running through them, with the first one focusing on teamwork/friendship and this one focusing on family. It was sweet, funny and oh so sad.

 2. The music was superb. Not only was the Vol 2 mixtape incredible, with some of my favourite bands featured (including ELO, Fleetwood Mac, Sweet and Cheap Tricks), but the instrumental score was beautiful. Go listen to a track called ‘Dad’ from this film, and just feel it. Tyler Bates is a genius.

 3. Chris Pratt, once again, moved me to tears with his portrayal of Peter Quill. As someone who grew up without my biological Father, only to bond with the man who would become my adoptive Dad, I really identified with Peter in this film. The acting was great, as usual.

 4. Drax, Rocket and Gamora were also amazing, with each character developing a little bit as more was revealed about their own relationships with family.

5. Baby Groot. OMG, he was so cute!

6. Kurt Russell played the fantastic character, Ego. As someone who read the comics, I was a little dismayed when they changed who Ego was in relation to Peter… but when I watched the film, it was great to see that Ego was pretty much the same dick as he always was.

7. Visual effects wise, this film was stunning, taking us to new worlds and facing new creatures.

8. The little cameos in this film were well done, with Sylvester Stalone as another Ravager and a little bit of David Hasselhof in there as well.

9. Kraglin… my god I fell in love with Kraglin in this film. Last film, he caught my eye, but this time he had a much bigger part to play and I’m glad about that (even if i have fallen into Kragdu hell)

10. And when talking about Kraglin, I have to talk about Yondu… or as I now call him, Mary Poppins. SPOILERS After watching Yondu kill a bunch of people to the song Come a Little Bit Closer, I can definitely say that the marvel universe has been robbed of one of the greatest characters ever! Not only was the fact that he died sad, but the fact that he died confessing how he saw himself as Peter’s dad (with Peter agreeing) only made it worse/better. END SPOILERS

11. I love the five post credit scenes, as they’ve all teased some great future scenes/films for the MCU and I will spend money on all of them!

And now for the bits that disappointed me.

1. Mantis…. I loved this character in the comics, and whilst I agree that she was very cute in this film, she was a badass in the comics, and I can’t help but think that her character wasn’t as good. It fit in with the story, but I don’t see her as the Mantis I like.

2. The Nebula and Gamora storyline felt slightly forced at first, but it grew on me i admit

If you want to talk about this with me, just pop me a chat :)

That would be amazing!! I love your writing!! X - @smilexcaptainx

You were going out of your mind, you had been cast as a new supporting character in the upcoming marvel film along with all the big actors like Scarlett Johanssen, Sebastian Stan, Robert Downey Jr and most importantly Chris Evans. There was only one problem, you had a raging crush on Chris.

One of the most overlooked aspects of Prometheus is its deep connection to the David Lean film Lawrence of Arabia. Sure, Peter Weyland name drops T.E. Lawrence in his cornerstone TED talk. Lines like “big things have small beginnings” and “there is nothing in the desert and no man needs nothing” are direct quotes from the film. And David is seen watching the film while the rest of the crew sleep away the journey in cryo-sleep but really this only just scratches the surface.

Weyland himself identifies heavily with T.E. Lawrence implicitly and explicitly labeling himself as “superior” in both his first and last appearances in the film. He is a man set on changing the world in spite of the “rules, restrictions, laws, [and] ethical guidelines” of the existing rulers. Lawrence himself was wont to buck authority, conventional wisdom, direct orders, and even what was commonly understood to be physically possible. Weyland declares “we are the gods now” with the same fervor and commitment as when Lawrence, after bringing Gasim out of the dessert, looks Ali in the eye and says, “Nothing is written.” They are men who understand that it is up to humans to change humanity and if you indulge them they are willing to change the world.

Of course, however, the main parallel with Lawrence of Arabia comes to us through the lens of David. The android played so brilliantly by Michael Fassbender has almost religiously patterned his person and appearance after Peter O’Toole in the epic film. We see him watching Lawrence of Arabia while bleaching and parting his hair to reach as close to Peter O’Toole’s infamous visage as he can. David has developed not only his image but also his mannerisms and speaking patterns around the character of T.E. Lawrence. While he works he sits and recites to himself Lawrence’s famous line about how he handles the pain of extinguishing a match between his fingers: “The trick, Willam Potter, is not minding that it hurts.” This is where the connections begin to burrow even deeper.

One of Lawrence’s defining characteristics in the film is his ability to endure inhuman amounts of physical discomfort, social humiliation, and even bodily torture. His refusal of water and rest until the Bedu are willing to take them for themselves leads his initial companion to ask “Are you certain you are not Bedu?” He is a stranger in a strange land but he suffers his indignities and powers on with his agenda.

David is very much the same. He is an outsider in a world of flesh and blood humans. He suffers the indignity of being treated as a servant or an appliance despite his contributions to the missions – contributions which he no doubt views as superior to those provided by others. Many people would attribute his general lack of affect to his nature and limitations as an android but I truly believe that this is a conscious choice by David. He views himself as special: a purpose built creation much like Lawrence was a man with a destiny. He speaks with Holloway about how disappointed Holloway would be if humanity’s creators had the same justification humans had for creating him: “Because we can.” This scene (which is visually analogous to a scene in Lawrence of Arabia where Lawrence discusses his purpose in the Army while bouncing billiard balls around a pool table) gives us an insight into David’s actual psyche. To me this scene makes it clear that David DOES feel on some level and is merely being the good soldier, forging on to his objectives all the while not minding that it hurts.

David’s relationship to Lawrence of Arabia is even more personal than all this however. Both David and Lawrence are essentially bastard children of famous fathers. They are seeking approval and validation for an existence that is proving to be less than their promise. David is seeking the love and praise of Weyland as much or more than Lawrence is for that of the Arabian people as well as his surrogate father figure Mr. Dryden. While Lawrence is somewhat betrayed by Mr. Dryden claiming there have always been plans to take Arabia from the Arabs, David is betrayed by Weyland as he is reduced to a mere demonstration of human ability to the Engineers. David so deeply wants to be praised and appreciated for his achievement that as the Engineer reaches down and caresses his face we can see the moment of pure ecstasy proving once and for all that David does in fact feel. Of course this is immediately followed by the Engineer ripping his head from his body and using it to kill Weyland. This is an echo of the moment when Lawrence takes Damascus in a great victory for the Arabs only to have their rule disintegrate to infighting and luddism.

David and Lawrence both sought greatness only to be reduced to ruin. They both endured inhumanities and displayed great strength. These bastard sons of greater men did amazing things only to let their hubris and pride turn their victories to ashes in their mouths. David’s deliberate replication of the lifestyle and living image of Lawrence of Arabia is truly a powerful and sadly ironic statement. Perhaps both David and his father should have paid closer attention to the end of the film to see what really happens to great mean with limitless ambition.

Unpopular Wounded Love/Vatanım Sensin 1x23 opinion:

So I’ve seen the episode and I have read that letter Hilal wrote (and read to us) in the extras.
And I really can’t understand why people are… upset about this episode and that letter?!?!?!

This is going to be an unpopular opinion, as it seems, but I’d really like to share my thoughts:
This. Show. Is. Not. Just. Hileon.

And yet, people are LOSING THEIR MINDS because it seemed like Hilal and Leon were not in the centre of happenings in this episode. Guys, please sit down and decide what you want. You want Hileon, you want the liberation war to start, you want Tevfik to lose, you want Cevdet to win, you want to see what the writers have planned for that Yıldız-character…
But you’re… expecting all this to happen in like… THE SAME EPISODE!?!?!?!?

Can we please chill out a little bit and enjoy what we have? Compared to the last three episodes that weren’t the best… this episode was AWESOME.
Are you taking the AMAZING talent of the actors of this show for granted? Or don’t you see it?

That way Cevdet put that gun to his head had me in TEARS.
That scene; the way he screamed to God to kill him, to take his life, had me in TEARS.
That scene in the hospital, where that woman talked about all those things her people went through, had me in TEARS.
That scene where Azize gathers all those people, and all of them come together for one cause and do what they can, even if it’s so much less than is needed and so much more that they can afford… Had. Me. In. Tears.

Not only that. We saw CHARACTER DEVELOPEMENT in many different scenes and in many different characters in this episode (I’m not talking about Yıldız, so calm down).
I’m talking about the fact that Leon stepped in front of his parents and said:
“You have lost one son, but if you continue like this, you will lose your other son, too.”
I’m talking about the fact that Leon finally STOOD UP to his father and disobeyed for the first time and said: This is not my fault. This was your doing. And I REFUSE to take responsibility for that.
I’m talking about the fact, that Veronica said:
“Everything I did was only to make you happy.”
And that Leon’s answer to that was:
“Everytime you do something to make me happy, I get more miserable.”

You can say what you want, we saw A LOT of Leon in this episode. Maybe not in relation to Hilal, but in terms of his VERY troubled relationship to his parents which is a very IMPORTANT plotline, too.

And then Tevfik. The fact that he opened up to Azize about his feelings. Even though I HATE Tevfik, I admired Onur Saylak’s performance in that scene. And I’m happy that Azize knows one more thing about Tevfik now. She needed to hear this. This was important.
Every information she gets about this man, will be another piece for the puzzle that will reveal Tevfik’s true self, in the end.

And now… about that letter in the extras:

Of course it would have been NICE to see all these things in the show, too.
But one episode is over 120 minutes and a few things more than HILEON need to happen in these +120 minutes. This is a fact.
Up until now, we had 3-minute-scenes with Hilal and Leon. And those were enough to establish the relationship between them. As their feelings get deeper, we’re getting longer scenes with them. We see how they fall for each other and can’t help it. We see the depth of their feelings and devotion.

But as much as they love each other, THESE TWO AREN’T READY TO EXCHANGE LOVE LETTERS YET.

This show – SCRIPT-wise – is simply not ready to include the exchange of love letters between those two, yet.
The days WILL come, guys.
But please accept the fact that Hilal is not ready to reveal to Leon what she is barely starting to accept herself. She is not ready to let him know how much he means to him. Yet.

So, as there are no room for these letters in the script… the makers of the show are doing us the favour of giving us glimpses of the THOUGHTS of these characters. Things they do “behind the scenes”, so to speak.
They are giving us “deleted scenes” of Leon and Hilal writing about each other.
I think we all need to realize that these TEXTS those two are writing about their beloved ones… aren’t actually LETTERS.

These two are writers.

Writers cope with their feelings (be it positive or negative) THROUGH WRITING.
THAT’S what these texts ARE.
It’s Leon and Hilal, trying to deal with the CHAOS they are feeling inside.

It’s basically what you all write in your fanfictions.

And now, the makers of the show are giving us these extras in form of CANON and you guys… complain??

Of course it will be wonderful when we see these texts in the hands of their true owner, one day. But right now, this is all they can give us, so please…

Stop. Bitching. About this show. And its makers.

This is truly not fair. As fans, we should also stand behind this show for once.
I thought this episode was wonderful. I loved the Hileon scene
(Hilal did hug Leon back and Leon knows that. But she needed to let go because it fucking HURTS to know that they love each other but will probably NEVER HAVE EACH OTHER in Hilal’s eyes, so she Let. Go.
Leon knows why she did it and he knows this doesn’t have to do with the fact that she loves him).
And I loved most other scenes.
Most of us have been waiting for YılKe to start. It is starting now. It was going to start, EVENTUALLY. So stop bitching about that, too.

Nobody complained when we saw Hileon from episode 9-19 and NO YılKe whatsoever for the sake of it…
But now, you’re complaining that Hileon was a bit off the centre so that YılKe could have a few scenes? Come on. Grow up.

I’m not happy about that sudden developement in Yıldız’ character. But I won’t talk about that right now. All I will say is: I never wanted Yıldız to die or become a traitor. The way she behaved in 1x23, was it a bit sudden? Yes. But did I like to see developement and finally a bit of YılKe in 1x23? Hell yeah.

So please stop being unfair to this show. And FOR ONCE… be happy.
Let’s all get rid of this pessimist, miserable and ungrateful perspective and let’s just ENJOY the show.
Just because they make one or two mistakes, doesn’t make everything else about the show worthless. Thinking that, would mean insulting all the actors and everyone else who is a part of this project.

Well would you look at that : it’s your local Jordan here with a half-assed banner to celebrate a pretty damn cool milestone ? ! I’ll keep this short and sweet so I don’t go too PDA on y’all, but dear god - 400 followers in what ? 2 months ? Holy shit ! I don’t think I can say just how much I love the BN.HA fandom because honestly… you guys have reminded me just what it was the dragged me into roleplaying to begin with. I haven’t had so much fun on a blog in actual years and now suddenly I’m bombarded with shitty memes and interesting plots and I just can’t thank you guys enough !

If I had the time to sit down and tag the entire BN.HA fandom I would - all of you guys have made this great for me - but dudes I’m too impatient for that shit, but keep that in mind if you’re not included. Canon characters and OCs alike, you’re all amazing to me.
