go thought bubble

im gonna name my daughter “the babadook” and everyone’s gonna call her babs and every time she meets someone new they’ll be like “babs, that’s cute, is that short for barbara?” and she’ll have to look them in the eye and say “no it’s short for ‘the babadook’”

Good news- the small child was perfectly enchanted by her mermaid surprise unlike the first mermaid party I did where the birthday girl wanted to be as FAR AWAY FROM THE MERMAID AS POSSIBLE

they wheeled me out on a desk chair which was pretty hilarious but actually worked a lot better than a Throne of Dads

and then omfg to get me in the pool

they put me in one of those disability chairs that you sit in and it sloooooowly lowers you into the pool

so I just sat in it, princess-waving for a full 5 minutes while I’m majestically lowered into the water. hilarious

Unlike the last party I actually was SWIMMING the whole time! They plopped me right into the deep end and I paddled around with the kids (who had floaties on and were swimming with their parents). Birthday girl was more than happy to show Marina the Mermaid how she can dunk her head in the water and jump off the side into her mom’s arms (she had just turned 4). Super cute.

Really what I want is fic where finwe and mahtan are useless grandpas at a disastrous family event but I can’t write so instead this

If you remember this then hey that’s me and I’m very sad about it to this very day and I’m asking if there’s any kind people who wants to donate me some money so I can go to thought bubble and get to meet him because I wasn’t kidding when I said I’ll regret it forever. It haunts me. Biggest mistake I’ve ever made. I cry about it a lot.

“It’s a little ugly, but…”

AHHHH! You're going to to Leeds Thought Bubble!!! I can meet you and get awesome art!!! So happy :)

Yes I am! :D

I’ll be stuffing my suitcase with as much as I’m able to carry, but I *am* sharing the table, and I can’t bring everything with me. I will be bringing a bunch of comics and stickers and stuff, though!

This is going to be my first con in a foreign country, so expect me to be entirely overwhelmed when you see me, though!

Presumably most of us being human type people from Earth, this is a somewhat difficult question to ask while remaining unbiased, but what was the turning point that made Rose Quartz decide to give everything up for Earth?

We have this:

Rose didn’t always do what was best for her, but she always did what was best for Earth.

And this lines up with what we’ve heard about her so far. But it does raise one more question: If she always put the needs of Earth first, did she put it before the needs of her own Crystal Gems?

We have precedence to show that when she needed to, she had no problems “mercifully” getting gems out of the way if they interfered with her mission. Obviously Bismuth was a complex situation, but it does show what she’s willing to do if backed into a corner.

Yes Rose disagreed morally with the idea of the Breaking Point, but more so Bismuth was ready to take the rebellion to homeworld to challenge the “upper crust” gems. And that was not what Rose was fighting for.

Of course she encouraged all the freedoms that came along with joining a rebellion- turning your back on everything you’ve ever been expected to be and choosing your own life path. A Pearl that belonged to no one,  fusion formed from love! How very exciting. How very human

But is that really why the majority of gems joined Rose’s army? Because it seems to me that it’s very likely that the majority of them were facing banishment or death for any number of reasons. Most of which came from a systematic oppression that could no longer be tolerated. Who wouldn’t want to rebel in that situation? And Earth? Well that’s just as good a place as any to get away when you have nowhere else to go.

And  Rose welcomed them with open arms. The great Rose Quartz who shattered a diamond. The same Rose Quartz who said never again

Rose, who for all she was in love with the concept of humanity, just wanted one small planet to be left alone:

Nothing about bringing down the hierarchy, nothing about shattering diamonds, not even fighting for the rights of gems throughout gem controlled territory. I imagine it because a point of conflict among the ranks at some point. How many other gems might have wanted to take the rebellion beyond one planet? And how often did Rose have to tell them no?

We already know that the rebellion was more successful than any of us could have imagined. So successful that the diamonds felt the need to evacuate and nuke it from the air, so to speak.

Were they so afraid that the rebellion would spread, even when Rose was expressly NOT interested in taking it elsewhere?

All of this begs the question: What happened that made Rose turn away from everything she was created to be to protect the species and home of one small planet? More importantly, what was is that kept her focus on this rather than bringing freedom to gems throughout the universe? Was is just that the diamonds got to Earth first, or is there something more to it?

Request: Hi hi hi if your taking request can you do a song related one to soap by melanie martinez if you haven’t heard it and can you a liam one thanks

a/n: Thank you for requesting this! I want to apologise if it’s not that great, I had to do so much research about this song because I had no idea what it was about and what’s the meaning behind the song. But I can definitely say that it’s a really good song and you guys should listen to it (if you haven’t).

Love, it’s a scary thing and it leaves so many people broken and hurt. It’s frightening to know when you’re the one inlove with someone, you  want to tell the person how you feel but you’re scared. Scared of what they’ll say because it can destroy them. That’s why i’m hiding what i’m feeling, I’m burying it deep inside me. But it’s slowly destroying me, i’m tired of holding this inside my head.

Will to still be going to Thought Bubble this year, despite the UK turning into a post-EU, rudderless paddle-steamer caught in an APOCALYPTIC MAELSTROM??

Yes!  I will be there!  Maybe all the UK needs is a TALL CANADIAN with NO POLITICAL TRAINING to come visit and sort things out, huh?  THERE’S ONE WAY TO FIND OUT
