go on cancelled

I have to wonder if they shot this episode thinking that it could possibly be the series finale, as iZombie had not been picked up for Season 4 yet. Something about ending with Liv telling Ravi, “Don’t be a dick” after she scratches him seems like less of a cliffhanger than the previous two seasons.

You know that Boogie has to minimize stress for his weight loss surgery? He was almost going to cancel doing the cyberbullying panel in the first place because of that. Confronting Anita and her followers is the last thing he can do right now. It would probably lead to him having another panic attack, and having to postpone his surgery.

I’m aware of that fact, yes.  It doesn’t change the fact that I’m pretty sure he capitulated at every turn to Anita’s whims after she bared her teeth.

Precisely what is justified by this?  Anita snarls once and she gets her way?  Where is that line?  If she had done that on stage, would Boogie have done a 180 and backed Anita’s position entirely?

Boogie crafted his entire platform for that panel to capitulate to Anita.  He was scared of her.  He couched his entire position in her ideology so it was within her own worldview.  That isn’t excused by anxiety.

And when Boogie says one thing that is even remotely off script it causes Boogie to backtrack when pushed on it afterwards.

I like Boogie.  Boogie seems like a nice guy.  That doesn’t change the fact that practically every step of the way he was driven by fear and the desire to capitulate to Anita to make things easier for him.

She’s a bully and she got her way through fear.  I don’t hate Boogie for not standing up to her, but I am disappointed.  Just like if I saw any other person roll over and submit to a bully instead of standing up to them.

Netflix Customer Service

Alright everyone! So I’ve just finished getting off a 20 minute call with customer service. The lady that took my call was the sweetest thing. What she said? They’ve been receiving calls like crazy about the cancellation of sense8 from left to right. She also told me there have been some angry callers, but please guys, if you want something done, please be kind, being angry isn’t going to help when you’re talking to these people. She also told me that EVERY SINGLE FEEDBACK THEY RECEIVE FROM US COUNTS AND THEY TAKE IT SERIOUSLY. As she also said that Netflix is probably the only company she knows that does this. I spoke to her about the possibility of there being at least a special or a movie so we may be able to get a good and decent finale. Everything that we tell these people is being typed down and sent to headquarters. I came to ask as well about the possibility of Netflix selling the show forward and she said she wouldn’t know about that and told me that they can possibly keep making money off of sense8 if it’s still there. Make sure you guys tell them that if they cancelled it because they weren’t getting enough views; I specifically said to her “if you’re going to cancel it because it’s not getting enough views, excuse my language, but advertise your shit”. Why keep making money from a show that’s been cancelled if you’re not getting views and you’re not willing to promote it. I live in New York City and the only time there was ever something concerning sense8 here was the season 2 premiere which was amazing. Please let them know what this show means to you as well. She told me that people have called her and told her that they’re cancelling their accounts and this is happening fast where people are unsubscribing. Everything we do for this show makes a difference. She told me to lets keep our heads up and stay on the lookout which I won’t say it’s essentially a good thing but we’re doing good. So keep up the good work everyone, lets keep doing this!

Anything is possible.

PLEASE MAKE SURE TO BE KIND!

My university did nothing to stand between my undocumented community and the hateful hands of radicalized white men, the AntiFas did. A peaceful protest was not going to cancel that event, just like numerous letters from faculty, staff, Freedom of Speech Movement veterans, and even donors did not cancel the event. Only the destruction of glass, and shooting of fireworks did that. The so called “violence” against private property that the media seems so concerned with stopped white supremacy from organizing itself against my community.
Everything else seemed an act of passive acceptance to the hate speech that was about to take place on our campus.

so i haven’t seen anything on tumblr about this yet but since it’s kind of a big deal, uh. concordia university in montreal received a bomb threat today from a group called c4 – the conseil des citoyens conservateurs du canada, or, roughly translated, the council of conservative citizens of canada (to be completely honest that’s using an internet translator so please correct me if i’m off). according to the message from the president of concordia, the threat was directed at muslim students.

so a) everyone in downtown montreal please stay safe as the downtown campus is huge, and b) what the fuck.

everyone who thinks canada is some kind of haven against racism or hate crimes or major threats can sit the fuck down. this is just weeks after a white supremacist killed several muslims in quebec city. this is some scary fucked up disgustingly racist shit.

@allthecanadianpolitics

Today on twitter someone told me I should SUPPORT the shows and movies I’m talking about instead of just tweeting about it because “tweeting about it doesn’t get them views/money” and I’ve never, ever, encountered someone who so badly missed the point of my entire online brand. Wildest thing someone ever said to me.

How to Care for an Introvert

How to Care for an Introvert

1. Respect their need for privacy and to spend time alone.

2. Be careful never to embarrass them in public.

3. When they are in a new situation, allow them to stand back, and watch what’s going on.

4. Allow them time to process what you’re asking or saying. Don’t demand an answer right away.

5. Be patient if they hesitate to find the right words – and never interrupt while they are speaking.

6. If you are going to change or cancel plans, give them plenty of prior notice.

7. Allow them to practice and perfect skills alone.

8. Correct or challenge them privately – never in front of an audience.

9. Don’t force them to hang out with a crowd of people, or expect them to amass a lot of friends. A few good friends is more comfortable for them.

10. Don’t try to turn them into an extrovert. Respect them for being exactly who they are.

Okay but on a serious note, wayhaught is some of the best wlw representation I’ve ever seen on tv. We get these soft girlfriends that actually know how to kiss, we get plenty of scenes, we get sex scenes where they ask for consent (which is fucking rare), emily just throws in scenes to make us happy (cheerleading scene) and the actresses and writers actually give a shit about what happens to them. On top of this, the show is actually good. The storylines are interesting and the humour is incredible and I actually like every single character on this show (again very rare) and I don’t get bored watching it. They’re so invested in this show and their roles and we need to keep this show going, otherwise it’s going to be cancelled and this rarity on tv is going to disappear. So please watch this show live if you can, tweet a shit ton about the show and make some noise, because after seeing a show such as sense8 be cancelled, I know it’s always a possibility and unlike sense8, it doesn’t have a multimillion dollar company backing it.

Hard Witchy Truths to Acknowlege
  • You don’t know everything. There’s a lot you don’t know about the universe and how it works. Your personal belief system is not a universal truth that everyone must follow. Saying people are foolish or “will learn eventually” because they subscribe to a different belief system than yours is rude and imperialistic. Don’t act like you’re a wise old sage with all the secrets figured out, because you’re only human, just like the rest of us.
  • Science still matters. While a lot of what we do seems like we’re skirting impossible, we are still physical beings in a physical world. Eating random plants, drinking potions with hazardous materials, and overall being really unsafe about your craft WILL still effect you no matter how much energy you raise. Your healing spell is going to have to metaphysically fight the fact that you just physically swallowed a rock. No positive energies are going to cancel that out.
  • There will ALWAYS be haters. Whether it be from outside people who think your craft is a self-delusion, or long-time witches who think your untraditional path is a disgrace, you can’t please everyone. There are as many ways to practice the craft as there are witches and then some. There’s no hate-free path, so just accept that and don’t give hate to other people for theirs; you know how it feels coming from other people so why give it to someone else?
  • Magic won’t solve all your problems. Magic is a very powerful spiritual tool, but it’s not going to solve everything. You will still need to reach out, take action, talk to people, lock your doors, etc. The witch whose first reaction to literally everything is to cast a spell with no followup, and only seeks out knowledge through divination and nothing else will still have a lot of problems because they’re so separated from the rest of the world.

there it is, in a nutshell

F*ck you, pay me…

Apologies for the length. The revenge is sweet though.

I was a contractor with a small business (Company X) that did consulting and other services for bigger companies. I usually worked directly with these bigger companies and was operating largely as a direct employee of Company X, though not on site.

I enjoyed the work but some of the people at Company X were d*cks. Just petty nonsense like talking shit about me in meetings, and for no reason that I could discern. All their clients loved me; I was good for business. They were just being d*cks, like d*cks do. It didn’t matter. Since I was working mostly with Company X’s clients, I didn’t have to spend much time communicating with the d*cks.

Every month I sent my invoice to Company X, and the terms were they had 30 days to send payment. At some point, they promoted their main accounting guy (one of the d*cks, henceforth, D*ck Accountant) and hired a Deputy Accountant, who was put in charge of satisfying invoices, such as mine.
