USI played the defending National Champions from Drury yesterday in the semifinals of the Deaconess GLVC Conference Tournament. All 5 seniors scored in double digits and the 6 seeded Eagles came out with a suffocating defense to upset the #1 seeded Panthers. More photos from the game are here and the next post will have a photo from the Championship game!

Track and Field

I have never felt so amazing during a season as I have this past weekend!

First it started with being seeded first in the weight throw and going into finals I was second. I ended up getting 1st!!! That had never happened before. I also PR’d with a throw of 15.42 meters which is about 50’7”.

I then also found out that the coaches in my conference decided to make me the Great Lakes Valley Conference Female Indoor Field Athlete of the Week!!

I’ve been so blessed to be getting so much better at this event and I can’t wait to see where I get to in the rest of the season. I still haven’t qualified for nationals or broken our school record, but I plan on it.
