OH HO HO BOY THIS IS MY FORTE. Also it totally depends on what you consider or what you mean by cute SOOO I’ll just suggest all the lipstick packaging that I personally like and find cute - whether it be ‘kawaii’, ‘elegant’, or ‘punk’ kinds of cute. I’ll also be suggesting lipsticks of all types and formulas, not just in bullet form, and at any price range
Beauty Bakerie Lip Whips/Liquid Lipsticks ( x // x ) [same packaging for both formulas but the different formula colors peering through the tube give the packaging different looks if you know what i mean]
Yves Saint Laurent Lipsticks ( x // x // x ) [I saw the first one irl at Sephora and I just died a lil inside]
Christian Louboutin Lipsticks & Lacquer ( x // x // x // x )
Besame Cosmetics Lipstick ( x ) [simple but cute bullet design]
Mellow Cosmetics Lipsticks ( x ) [another very simple one i just like the matte soft white look it has???]
Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in ‘Trouble Maker’ ( x ) [I think that packaging is exclusive to that shade]
Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipsticks ( x // x ) [idk what it is but the packaging is so cute to me esp in person ESPECIALLY the limited edition Candy Cane packaging. it’s a pretty color and formula]
MILK Cosmetics Lip Products ( x // x ) [they’re supposed to look like highlighters and markers it’s so tacky i love it]
Sephora x Pantone 2016 Color of the Year Lipsticks ( x ) [they’re sold out from sephora so I can’t give a link to buy unless you wanna go eBay and Amazon where they’re more expensive]
Winky Lux Lip Velour Lipstick ( x ) [they look like white and gold pills ahh]
Sugarpill Cosmetics Liquid Lipsticks + Bullet Lipsticks ( x ) [MOST IMPORTANTLY the bullet lipstick okay they look like cute lil pills and ahhhhhhhh gimme i need. their liquid lipstick in the shade Trinket used to have special really adorable artwork packaging when first released but not anymore]
Lime Crime Lip Products ( x // x // x ) [Diamond Crusher is actually just a lip topper but it’s still cute tho. Controversies aside, their Unicorn packaging was one of the first eye catching packaging in the indie market back in the day so I gotta point them out. They also have a Melanie Martinez collab lipstick bullet “Cry Baby” design, but that was limited edition and I haven’t heard if they’ll ever be back in stock again]
Baby Bat Beauty Metallic Lip Cream ( x ) [I like how different the bejeweled top is, as I personally haven’t seen that on other products. I also have a review for their lip creams here if u wanna check it out]
Annnnnnd that’s all I can come up with at the moment. You definitely wanna be hovering the Japanese and Korean cosmetics market for some really cute packaging, but also don’t forget to look into the indie market in general because indie companies have also been coming out with cute packaging!!!
Hello!! I was wondering if you could do a reaction to where you’re trying to do a baddie makeup look for your date with them and you keep failing.
A reaction mmmm I can do this!
He’d be sympathetic. Checking in on you, for the 8th time and he sees you wiping off the makeup. I think he’d joke with you, to make you feel better. “Baby, we both know, everyone looks at me anyway, so it doesn’t matter what you look like.” After you hit him, and he’s laughing, he would kiss you and tell you, that you’re beautiful with or without makeup.
He wouldn’t understand what was taking so long. He’d be like what the hell woman, barging into the bathroom and seeing you get annoyed with makeup and brushes everywhere. “If it’s this annoying then let’s not go out, no one but me needs to see you looking sexy anyway.”
He would feel bad for you, trying to hug you and helping you take off the makeup. He would pull up pintrest and suggest different things that he has saved in a folder for you. “How about a green smoky eye, baby? I think you look great in green!”
“Sexy, seriously we don’t have time for you to be-” He barges in the bathroom and sees you wiping your tears, after failing on the makeup look for the fourth time. He doesn't understand why it’s going so bad, but he does know youre annoyed and you wanted to look good for him. He’d sit with you, and tell you that makeup doesn’t make you. It’s your personality he loves.
He’s been watching you from the cracked door, and finally he opens it. He wipes off your blush and foundation, eyeliner and your lips. Once your barefaced again, he hands you mascara, eyeliner, gloss and BB cream. “That’s all you ever needed anyway.” He’d kiss you gently, and smack your bum.
“Stop, this. You know you’re beautiful without all this makeup. You can try again tomorrow, maybe today isnt the day. Besides, look how cute I am? Together we are unstoppable.” V just uses aegyo to cheer you up, and if that doesn’t work he starts singing.
He knew how well you could do makeup, and how flawless it made you look. Not that he thought you looked better with it. Or without it. He just knew that when you came downstairs and he was in awe or your beauty that you enjoyed that. Bringing up one of your favorite youtubers makeup instructions, he would put the phone down and let you see it. “I like it when you did this look, do this one again, it blows my mind every time.”
I hate to say it but sometimes the presentation is enough to suck us in.
Anna Sui launches their Holiday Sweets limited edition makeup collection this November, and it includes 2 bonbon boxes with huge pink bows (SGD72), a purple hand mirror (SGD33) and 5 sequined nail color shades (SGD24) in confectionery hues.
The 2 key pieces in the collection have got to be the Holiday Sweet boxes of course! These are “look in a box” kits with 4 pots: coordinated lipgloss, jelly lip balm, cream eyeshadow, and cream blush.
01: Sweet Espresso
“Bittersweet- a grownup flavor not offered to you as a child… Indulge in that once forbidden flavor with this all-grown-up kit.”
02: Sugary Sweet
“Soft and sweet, just like a fairytale. You just might become captive to this charmingly saccharine kit.”
I received 02 Sugary Sweet for review, and I have to say I really couldn’t bear to dig into these. But I’m glad I did because the gloss and blush are really nice.
The pink frosty gloss might be a tad too 80s Barbie for some, but it works nicely over other lip colors.
The cream blush is the cream-to-powder type.
The lip balm I saw no point in swatching here because it’s mostly just clear. The little jelly dots in the pot don’t give a whole lot of color though they’re cute as anything.
The cream shadows were what I was most excited to try but I have to say they are not my favorite as they are the creamy kind (like MAC cream bases) that don’t set. This means you can’t really use them on their own or they will crease and fade after awhile. If you like the colors, use with a very light hand, or use them as a base for powder shadows.
The surprise hit for me was the nail polish I received; 327 Cassis Pink with Black Lamé.
SO smooth, SO easy to apply, AND the little irregular sized glitters show beautifully through the nail polish and there’s JUST the right amount so 2 coats gives you a “chocolate-chip ice-cream” effect.
And P.S. they have a delicate rose scent, like everything else in the collection.
Definitely getting more shades once the collection launches!!!
Bought a too dark lipstick-can you suggest any product to tone it DOWN?
I’m a massive lover of bold lips, give me bright fuchsias in the summer and vampy reds in the winter and I’ll wear them all day, every day. But whilst I love my bright, creamy high pigment lip colours someday I prefer to tone it down a little…
First Date: Think bright. Bright future, bright features, bright as fuck. Highlighter on cheeks and the on the cupid’s bow, undereye concealer and nude eyeliner on the rim. Look awake and alive. Try: NYX Born To Glow Liquid Illuminator and Maybelline Instant Age Rewind.
Girl’s Night Out: Can’t go wrong, ever, with black cat eyeliner and purpley lips. Repeat after me—I Am The Dark Queen. Do Not Forsake Me. Try: Stila ‘Stay All Day’ Liquid Eyeliner and MAC lipstick in Heroine. Classic on all skin tones.
Shit, I’m Hungover And Still Have to Be Somewhere: If I have 5 minutes to put on makeup and still want to look somewhat presentable, there’s a trifecta to remember here. It’s blush, concealer, and mascara. Rosy blush makes you look flushed and alive, concealer to cover up the dark spots and clean up your skin, and mascara to look coherent and mostly not like a corpse. Try: Maybelline The Rocket Mascara, Benefit Blush in The Rockateur.
Staying Out All Day (Class, Work, School): Simple, basic looks that won’t melt off in the sunlight. Translucent Powder, Light Lip Gloss, BB Cream with SPF will make you look FRESH, which is a thing we all want to look like, even though it describes Douches and Citrus Drinks as well. Try: NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu, and Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector B.B. Cream.
Staying Out All Night: If you’re planning on ending up in a diner at 4am, noshin’ on eggs and burping gin, you’ve got to be prepared to wear makeup that lasts. Full-Coverage Foundation, Setting Spray and creaseless shadow are a must. Try: NARS Matte Foundation, Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray and Maybelline Color Tattoo THE METAL collection. Also related: my drunk diner order is an egg-white Western Omelette and fries with American cheese and gravy. I KNOW.
But Mama, I want A Smoky Eye: If you’re yellow-toned, try a copper smoky eye (copper crease, gold lid, white highlight). If you’re pink-toned, try a silver/grey trio (light grey lid, dark grey crease, silver highlight). If you’re darker-skinned, go wild and try a plum. It looks amazing with gold as a highlight and a lighter purple as a lid. Try: Naked One Palette for Copper, Maybelline Stylish Smokes for silver, and ELF Baked Eyeshadow in Burnt Plum for my favorite plum eyeshadow.
Classic Pinup Look: Red lips and cat-eye, yes, but don’t forget to contour your cheekbones with bronzer and apply a neutral eyelook with white eyeliner rim, a nude base, and a darker brown crease, blended out. You can’t go wrong with buying the Rimmel Scandaleyes in white and the Naked Basics Palette to have around for a Marilyn Monroe look. Just, like, stop misquoting the lady and let her RIP. To Try: NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny 720.
Hi I'm going to be taking my senior portraits soon and I want to do a natural look. I want to put makeup on but I don't want it to be too much. I would like to look like myself just a bit enhanced lol. What do you recommend?
Products for a flawless natural look: • Foundation something that’ll look natural and flawless is the makeup forever hd foundation! it has no spf so you won’t get a white cast on your face • Concealer because the foundation gives medium coverage, you want to use a concealer to hide any discoloration/blemishes i recommend: nars radiant creamy concealer, maybelline fit me • Translucent powder translucent powder is perfect for a natural look because it’ll set your makeup and mattify your face without adding extra pigment so your skin will look much more bare. my all time favorite is the laura mercier translucent powder • Bronzer photos can wash you out, so to add some warmth and color to your skin. matte bronzers and bronzers with super subtle shimmers will give a natural glow to your skin. i recommend: a darker shade in the MAC mineralize skin finish natural powders, NYX matte bronzers • Blush for blush, i suggest a warm shade with a sheen or subtle shimmer so you don’t need a highlighter as well. the sheen/shimmer will give dimension to your cheeks and also some color! i recommend: benefit coralista, mac warm soul, milani luminoso • Brows defined brows are sososo important because photos can wash you out! i recommend: mufe aqua brow, elf eyebrow kit, anastasia dipbrow pomade • Eyeshadow neutral matte eyeshadows is what i suggest. applying a medium brown color thats just 2 or 3 shades darker than your skin ton all over the lid blended into the crease, or just running that through your crease would give you definition to the eyes without it looking like you actually have eyeshadow on. I personally love MAC cork and wedge. Using your bronzer works too! • Eyeliner this brings more attention to the eyes. lightly smudging your pencil eyeliner along the upper lashline can be the easiest trick to the one of the biggest differences. pencil eyeliner is quick, easy and natural looking compared to liquid eyeliners. tip- applying a nude eyeliner to your waterline can help open up your eyes and make them look bigger and brighter! I recommend: nars rue bonaparte (nude eyeliner), makeup forever aqua eyes, nyx slide on pencils • Mascara i really don’t need to say much butttttt mascara is obviously a must. it opens up the eye and brings attention to them as well. curl-holding mascaras are generally better for creating that big-eyed effect! I recommend: makeup forever aqua smoky eyes, maybelline define-a-lash waterproof • Lipgloss light pink, neutral, or clear glosses are the way to go for a natural look. they also make your lips look more plump :) you can also read my MLBB (my lips but better- shades that look very natural but add a nice color) 101 post here I recommend: nyx butter glosses, buxom lip creams
