So to most of the americans into theater, the show Hedwig and the Angry Inch is a pretty popular show, it’s a thing, for sure. I saw that there was a film made of it in 2001. I was, god I don’t know how old I was. I mean I probably didn’t see the movie regardless of when it came out, I didn’t see the film until I was 16 maybe. I’m 28 now so it was, you know, more than a decade ago. And I fell in love with it. I mean I always loved, my brother and I loved that soundtrack, we loved the music, we loved the movie, it’s a very.. You know when you’re young, when you’re trying to sort of find your identity, you gravitate towards, you know, subversive things, whether it’s in fashion or punk rock or things that kind of are rebellious but different because you’re young and you want to be different, you know? Even though you wanna be like everybody else you want to be different, it’s a weird thing. And I just loved Hedwig and so I’ve always wanted to do that production. I tried to direct it in college, I wanted to do a version in Los Angeles before Glee, this didn’t come out of nowhere. This is something that’s been a while, for literally more than a decade. I’ve been friends with the creators for a while, which is a privilege, and they said “Whenever you wanna come in..” So as soon as I knew when Glee was over.. This had been waiting for years, so this is a dream come true for me. I just love the show, it’s just fucking fun, it’s really just high energy and crazy. It’s one of these opportunities that it was, you know, right in front of me and if I didn’t do it I don’t think I would have been able to live with myself.

Not for now. I mean, there was so much going on and I know a lot of people are curious about the music that I do. I mean I really like writing music for other people and letting them do their own thing and I’ve done so much over the past couple of years that I just need to be an actor again because, you know, Glee was the longest I’ve ever done a job, ever. It’s kind of crazy. Doing theater my whole life, you know you’re in a show for two months tops, and then you go on to the next thing. So, I’m used to going back and forth, so to do the same thing for five years, it’s a little, I don’t know how to translate this but, taxing? It takes a lot out of you, so I just really wanted to be an actor again and just put all my energy into that. So I imagine I’ll be doing a lot of that. And if the music thing happens, okay, that’s fine, but I just wanted to take a break from that because acting is so important to me that I needed to really pay attention to that. Yeah, so we’ll see, I don’t know, but Hedwig first. First things first!
