I suppose Postmodernists aren’t big fans of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. I’m not really a postmodernist. Maybe a little. I think to understand Mies, like pretty much anything, you have to view him in context. Glass and steel skyscrapers pepper the landscape of many major cities today, but in the 1960s, not so much. The reaction was swift but for a moment modernism gripped cities like murder grips Chicago now.
