Sam Hunt is a country singer who is known for writing singles for Kenny Chesney, for which he won an award from ASCAP.  He’s also written songs for Keith Urban & Billy Currington.  His song “Leave the Night On” went to #1 on Country Airplay & was certified platinum in Nov 2014.

Hunt grew up in Georgia with a focus on sports & was a former University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) starting quarterback.  It was during his time at UAB when he picked up the guitar.  After college he was invited to training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs but instead moved to Nashville to pursue his musical dreams.  He began collaborating with other Artists &, in addition to country,  his music has elements of R&B & pop.  He eventually began to write for himself & his songs became huge hits on Spotify averaging 300,000 streams per day!  He signed  with Universal/ MCA Nashville & was nominated for 2014 ACM Best New Artist.

The Sam Hunt show in NYC show was super sold out!  It surprised me how packed Irving Plaza was because I always think of NYC as a rock town.  But Hunt’s style is so unique & incorporates so many styles of music I think he generally appeals to everyone.  Sam Hunt is currently on tour supporting his first album “Montevallo”.   Check out his cool style & sweet smile in a city near you!
