giovanni tea tree

naturej0sette  asked:

my hair gets super oily when I try to moisturize my hair. so how do you moisturize low porosity hair??

Hi, try the following methods,
1)use a clarifying shampoo like Giovanni tea tree shampoo to get rid of build up & prepare hair for moisture absorption.
2)use light oils like jojoba ,grapeseed or argon oil for better absorption as well as Moisturize better without leaving hair oily.
3)for deep conditioning, which is a must for low porosity hair, please try Tigi moisture Maniac conditioner.
4)use products with humectants like aloe vera, honey which draw moisture from the air but be careful in dry seasons as they may do the opposite.
( Experiment with humectants products to see which one works better depending on where u leave)
5)You can also use just a steamer for 15-30mins to add moisture or if you have no steamer, heat a small towel & wrap it on your head, then cover with a plastic cap to create natural steam. ( u can also invest in a microwavable satin wrap)
6) lastly, you could try a curl activator “ Jheri curl” they are great to add moisture as well as treat heat damaged hair.
7) trying the baggy method will add moisture as well.
8) always apply your moisture on damp not wet hair for better absorption.
9) mix a little baking soda with a light shampoo.

Hopefully one of these will help you & remember if a product doesn’t work for u, toss it but stick with those that work.
