gintama merchandising

Nakai Kazuya
あ

I stumbled across this today and it brought me so many good memories (it was released in 2009) that I had to share it here.

This was quite a jewel of merchandising. I don’t know if you guys know a game called “uta garuta”, but this is the Gintama version of it. You can search for extra info in Wikipedia-san. I can’t explain it better than there (;・∀・).

I love it. Each character read a “Gintama poem”, full of Gintama’s wisdom, for… 46 tracks, for each hiragana.

Anyway, they’re so short and I loved them so much… that I’ll try to add a new one everyday. *hugs CD*

Curiosly enough, the first “poem” for the あ is recited by Hijikata:

That guy is the prince of the Sadistic Planet.

Save Shinpachi

Shinpachi is like the ‘Armin’ of Gintama, he doesn’t get that much official goods and he’s frequently undermined. I’d even say he’s practically being ignored by the companies making Gintama merchandise. Why? is it because his glasses? Is it because he’s not sadistic?? Is it because he’s a straight man?? Is it because he’s an otaku??? Save Shinpachi.

Got these earlier today; they’re the perfect size for my Gintama manga volumes. ^^

Okita: You’re using a book just so you could eat early lunch in secret? (In reference to Okita always calling out on Kagura for eating in class in the 3Z shorts)

Kagura: Thanks for reading! (Rather polite Japanese on her part)

Under 日直 (nicchoku, lit. “day duties”), they were both assigned classroom duties on the same day.
