for under $15, you can treat yo self (or treat a friend!!) to a beautifully sparkly, gold-dipped crystal with an air plant pal. bohemian, trendy, and the perfect organic pop for your desk or shelf display. airfriend’s varieties range in size, complexity, and price, so you’ll be sure to find your perfect little accent piece.

Some Urban Witchcraft Things I Do
  • Using small shielding wards while moving in crowded spaces to stop people from entering my personal space, using it to get a space on the train while others try very hard to not be too close.
  • Being a regular customer at a coffee shop, where the barista knows your order, using that regularity and infusing it in the drink to ensure a smooth work day.
  • Tapping into the electrical energy of street lights, traffic lights, the tangles of power lines or the wire work embedded in the concrete. Tapping into it to feel the pulse of the entire city and how its as never-ending and expansive as nature and the cosmos
  • Borrowing energies from businesses, abandoned spaces and construction equipment for on-the-fly spells. (Once I used a buzz saw being used for a building renovation for a shield spell)
  • Pausing at florist displays to communicate with the small fresh spirits living in the cultivated potted gift plants, their energies foreign in the space.
  • Meditating on public transit, buses and trains, tapping into the circuits they run, the power that sustains them, and the thousands of people constantly on and off them.
  • Meeting eyes with the birds who brave the city streets, connecting a kin-ess of survival under such unnatural conditions.
  • Marking sigils in the crook of my elbow in sharpie after designing them on the receipts that are tangled in my pockets.
  • Recognizing the glamor in mundane objects in stores, items being charged by desire and brand recognition by those who handle them, recognizing the residual affect it has on you after touching it.
  • Instinctively finding green spaces and specific plants you enjoy (for me its lavender, I can smell it from a block away) and having a mental map of where to pilfer powerful plants from city gardens.
  • Feeling the spirit of the city, all the energies of thousands of people and history and industry only -just- covering the nature that existed there for millennia before it, feeling all this as you walk through the quiet dark streets in the early morning hours.

Hey Nai, hope you're having a peaceful day. I have three raised beds in my herb garden, currently rosemary is the only permanent fixture. How do you recommend I make the most of the three beds utilising witchy and edible herbs? 💕

So, the absolute best way to have an herb garden (in my opinion anyway) is an herb spiralThe main reasons for this are 1) It provides more surface area for planting, maximizing the space, 2) Simulates different moisture levels, temperature, and light levels (full sun, partial shade, etc). This means that you can grow a variety of plants in one spot, including some you may not be able to grow normally in your climate 3) After set up, it has minimal maintenance, but tends to produce more due to specific needs being met.

I plan on documenting the new one I build - I just got the bricks today! (There’s other materials you can use instead)

Tips for flat beds/gardens in general:

  • Lasagna gardening. It sounds silly, I know, but it’s a method of farming that creates really healthy plants, with minimal weeding required. Read about it, you’ll thank me later.
  •  Look for companion plantsThis is more important if you plan to plant vegetables, as some vegetables can affect growth if planted next to each other, but another reason is pest control. A lot of herbs repel specific insects that tend to eat specific crops (like catnip, hyssop, rosemary and sage deter cabbage moth), so it’s a pesticide free way of protecting your garden. Some even encourage flavor or growth.
  • Make sure to pair plants with similar needs together - rosemary likes it a bit drier, so don’t plant it next to mint, which likes lots of water.
  • Actually it’s probably best if you left mint in a container. It’s a ‘weed’, as in it takes over everything and can be hard to get rid of. You should look into things like that as well before planting anything.
  •  If you have pets, please make sure to look into things that can hurt them. A lot of plants we like to use aren’t so good for our furry friends, some are actually deadly.

The Witchy side of things:

  • Talk/sing to your plants as you tend to them, and as you spend time in the garden. Some non-witchy people do this as well, because it encourages growth. Personally, I think the stronger your relationship with the plant spirit the more effective the harvest will be in spells, but that’s not verified or anything.
  • Making your own compost makes a wonderful offering/gift to thank the plants when you harvest them. It’s also good for them, and you can feel good knowing that you’re putting less stuff in a landfill.
  • If you’re the type to use sigils, lightly carving them on the surface of your garden is simple and invisible.
  • If you worship a certain deity, making a tribute garden can be a great gift to them. Some of the seeds I ordered are for that, actually.

  • Make a meditation space around your plants. If you work hard to make a healthy and peaceful garden, it can become your solace, and a sacred area for spellwork. A place to clear your head to focus on your craft is really beneficial! :)
Offerings and Gifts to Plants:

- Cleansed and charged gemstones: Place these next to your chosen plant so they can receive their energies. The crystals can be charged to suit your intent e.g. healing, love, friendship and more. Plants especially love moss agate, but if you don’t have any of this it is also nice to offer a crystal with similar properties to the plant. For example, offer rose quartz to a rosebush as they both have similar energies of healing, love etc.

- A song: You could sing one you know or make up your own. It doesn’t have to be fancy; you can even just hum a simple tune to it.

- Water (kind of obvious). Moonwater or gem elixirs are especially powerful and can be charged with energies you wish to pass to the plant.

- Fertiliser, some compost or new soil.

- Clear debris and weeds around the plant that may interfere with its growth.

- Sigils: Like crystals, they can be used to help the plant grow, heal etc.

- A story. Even just reading a book out loud as you sit near your plant can help you bond.

- A compliment or two, offered mentally or verbally.

- A new pot if the plant is getting to big for its old one. You can even get crafty and paint it using colour magic, sigils and other pretty designs.

- Some pretty stones to place around the base of your plant to decrease evaporation when you water it.

Feel free to add more - I’m just thinking off the top of my head here :)

crystal air plants by airfriend

how ADORABLE and fun are these gold-dipped gemstones with air plant friends?! they’re the perfect little gifts.

“Two Weeks”

Pairing: Steve Rogers x Reader

Summary: A narrative that explores how Steve copes after your tragic death.

notes: implied character death (reader), a failed attempt at writing sad things

A/N: thank you to @buckyywiththegoodhair for beta-reading this mess. i adore you, and god rest this old bitch’s soul.

One week has passed since you left New York for a month-long guest curatorship in Germany. Before leaving, you kissed Steve goodbye and promised to return in one piece.

One week has passed since HYDRA agents infiltrated the museum. They put the entire museum on lockdown, claiming it had World War II documents that were essential to the HYDRA agenda. Even the Avengers wouldn’t stop their mission to obtain these documents, they declared.

One week has passed since a certain HYDRA agent recognized your face from a tabloid, the headline screaming “Captain America Finally Finds Love!” He also deduced your title as one of the United States’ leading experts on Nazi Germany. It was the perfect coincidence.

One week has passed since HYDRA attempted to use you as a bargaining tool. “Give up the documents, and we’ll let you go back to your precious boyfriend,” they said. Much to their surprise, behind your simple dress and ballet flats was a woman not afraid to kick men in the balls, both figuratively and literally. You proceeded to do the latter.

One week has passed since the Avengers compromised the guards and rescued most of the hostages at the museum. Only one remained, but when it became clear that they’re wouldn’t gain access to any of the documents, HYDRA decided to inflict pain in the best way they knew how - by taking away the remaining innocent life.

One week has passed since your tragic death.
One week has passed since Steve Rogers buried the love of his life.
