Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
Judy Garland
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Judy Garland’s first radio performance of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”  with accompaniment by Paul Whiteman & his orchestra, 1944

Someday soon we all will be together
If the Fate’s allow…
Until then, we’ll have to muddle through somehow
So have yourself a merry little Christmas now

Rose Smith, we can’t go on like this any longer! I have positively decided we are going to get married at the earliest opportunity, and I don’t want to hear any arguments! That’s final. I love you! Merry Christmas.

Warren Sheffield, Meet Me in St. Louis

Possibly my favorite line from this ridiculous yet wonderful movie, though it’s followed closely by Rose’s father’s reaction to this proposal, which is to demand of his wife, “Anna, who is that boy?” Ah, such a classic. :)
