This showed up in my feed, probably because of you.

That is 100% because of me.

Also. whY HAVEN’T I SEEN THESE YET? Those are from this Spring Training, I know because of the ACE 30 patches on the jerseys (also, Hosmer’s lack of a rat tail), and I just? I need baseball season to start?

sorry if i sound stupid but who's ventura?

Hey anon, you don’t sound stupid at all! Ventura is what I call Yordano Ventura sometimes, and he was an MLB pitcher for the Kansas City Royals until he passed away in a car accident on January 22, 2017, in his home country of the Dominican Republic at the age of 26.

He signed with the Royals at the age of 16 or 17 and grew up as a part of that family. Making his Major League debut in September of 2013, he proved to be one of the best young prospects with an average pitch velocity of 96.4mph. He was expected to win a Cy Young award by many. Ventura was notorious for starting bench clearing brawls, but they were all in an attempt to defend his family, his teammates.

Though he kept his personal life pretty private, we do know a little bit. He was married with a daughter, probably a toddler at this point, and from what it looks like, he has twin children probably close to 6 months old at the time of his death. He was in charge of a youth baseball team in his hometown in the Dominican Republic, so he played with them every off-season and trained them to be the best they could be.

He always had a smile on his face and he loved the game of baseball with all of his heart; it was his life.

Anyways. This was longer than you probably wanted, but I just feel like it isn’t enough to call him “a deceased MLB pitcher” because he was much more than that. He was family.
