One of my friends works in marketing, and she got to see just how real Damie is. At first, I thought it was a marketing ploy to get people to keep talking about and stay interested in FS. Like some, I thought they tolerated each other (after seeing one of the interviews on Today back then). Boy, was I wrong. She showed me the behind the scenes from FSOG and let me tell you she got my curiosity going. They definitely had fun at the very least. She told me that they both went off of social media at the same time last summer, which is odd because of how useful it is these days when promoting. I figured they would try and pull the “we are best friends” angle for Darker and Freed. I thought, surely, seeing other other TV and movie couples posting pics of them having fun on and off the set. Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn are the best example I can think of. It was especially odd when, while we got some set pics, they went overboard selling the idea that they had lives outside of these characters and each other, even if they were close. We don’t see Kerry Washington or Tony Goldwyn having to do that (because of constant rumors). I know they supposedly were worried about stolen pics and privacy, but isn’t any celeb who takes the risk of putting some of their lives? I saw the few pics they and others posted and thought that they could be seen as rather innocent and posts of friends.

And then came the red carpets and promo for Darker. Then I saw the movie. Whoa. Yea, I am a believer now. I can see why their PR wanted to take control and nix the social media.

“You wanted hearts and flowers,” he murmurs.
I blink at him, not quite believing what I’m seeing.
“You have my heart.” And he waves toward the room.
“And here are the flowers”
