6’s not Tuesday night, and yet GUITAR SHOPPING has occurred!  If *The Man* lays down a rule…I like to break it.  That’s just how I roll.  :D

I had the opportunity to make an unscheduled trip to Capsule Music Toronto today and saw some of my “holy grail” instruments.  Or maybe I should just call them “holy sh*t” instruments!

  1. Holy Grail #1 (left) 1968 Telecaster.  Refinished (a good job too) so the price is a very affordable $4800!  Holy Grail #2 (right) 1966 Telecaster.  Original finish…and therefore more expensive ($8,500)!
  2. Holy grail #3: 1930s Gibson L-1 ($3,800).  Holy grail #4: 1972 Gibson Firebird Medallion ($7,000) - a limited run series of 366 units to commemorate the 1972 Olympics.   My friend Danny has a Flying V Medallion…and it’s gorgeous!  Holy grail #5: 1967 Rickenbacker 360 ($4,500).
  3. The best stores often don’t look like much from the outside.  But the riches within are overwhelming!  :D
  4. Center:  1962 Melody Maker.  A vintage Gibson for 1000 bucks!
  5. Canadian National Exhibition entrance
  6. left: 1967 Martin D-28, right: 1967 Gibson J-45.
